    Default pmakeda 35 point list

So I got a 35 point sr2012 tourney coming up. I was thinking about using this list as one of my two. Btw deathclock is in effect at this tourney, so I kinda had that in mind when makin this. Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    pmakeda +5
    krea 4
    brute 5
    shaman 5
    cannoneer 9
    Marketh 3
    aggie 2
    orin midwinter 2
    min pgbh 2
    max prets+ua 8

was kind of going with a denial theme for this list. Also was thinking about dropping the prets down to a min+ua so I can fit a void spirit in. Just for controlling objectives.

Nice. I haven't tried pMakeda with that much of a denial game yet, and I can see her having great synergy with the Orrin Midwinter/Agonizer combination. pMakeda would be a lot less threatened, and a lot more threatening, given free range to use her spells while denying the enemy focus allocation and/or spellcasting.

The list also seems pretty flexible. It has a good selection of ranged weapons for Skorne, which will come in handy. IMO, pMakeda gets a lot more mileage from her feat using max Swordsmen than Min. I don't think it's worth it to drop that kind of jamming potential for a Void Spirit, even though it's a good model.

My one concern with this list is its ability to take out heavies. It might work out with just the Cannoneer and light beasts. A Cannoneer under pMakeda can take heavies out easily benefitting from Carnage. You might also be able to take down a heavy with 2 or all 3 of your light warbeasts. If you're potentially up against a beast/jack heavy list, you can just use your other list, I suppose.

So far I have played it against gators and legion. I won both games via caster kill. Gators were kind of tough, My cannoneer ended up killing a wrastler, 3 of 5 posse, and barney. Amazing flexibility in this list and yes the denial is killer. Dw+paralytic aura+gnawing agony= Awesome! My buddy could not kill my brute with his dual ravagores. def 17 arm 21(effective 23 with gnawing) brutes are a beautiful thing The more I use the swordsman, I like them. I'm probably not going to take them out. Can just use orin as a objective camper/denial piece.

Thank you for the reply and input Glasskin.

oh my other list I was thinking about running zaal with Tibbers and Karn. Thinking about making it a sword and shield kind of list. Karax up front to die as the shield, swordsman as the....well sword. As for beasts Karn is the sword and Tibbers is the shield. That is the rough idea I had, I haven't flushed it out yet. Any input you have for that one would be great.

I don't have much experience with Zaal, but he definitely takes care of beast/jack heavy.

From what I've heard, Karn is great with him. I haven't heard anything about Tiberion with Zaal yet, but I don't see the synergy being as strong. The reason Karn is so great with Zaal (Theorymachine for me I'm afraid) is his mobility. Zaal can pretty much let anyone in the army kill anything between Last Stand and his feat, but only Karn can zip around with Spd:6, Reach and 2 Side Steps. Zaal can buff Tiberion's damage output too, but since Tiberion is a lot more direct, he's easier for the enemy to block, and since Zaal can make light beasts wreck heavies in a single activation, I'm tempted to say it's better to go with 2 lights instead of 1 Tiberion.

As I said though, I have no direct experience with Zaal and Karn together, and none at all yet with Tiberion. If nothing else, Tiberion would be a great bodyguard for Zaal who can still hit like a truck when Zaal's buffs are on other things. Otherwise I'd say you're on the right track with Zaal. Two units of light infantry is standard. You might find that the Karax are too slow, especially in Shield Wall, to be your first wave, but if you're just running them into the grinder, you'll definitely get a lot of souls at a decent price.

Just one thing about your list....I would trade the Brute for the Raider. Then your Cannoneer, Shaman amd Krea all get Far Strike.

That does seem like a valid choice but then my old man can get Kd. I like having my brute get awaken spirit. Free immunity from KD every turn is pretty sweet.

On the topic of using zaal and tibbers. My thoughts were just protecting the old man with resolve on him. Then try and smite anything away for karn to eat. Also tibbers club+enrage+feat+last stand works out to a p+s of 20 w/4d6 on each attack. I think he could reack some face also!
