Question Quick question about shifting stones!

Noob question I feel like, and I believe I know the answer to this but just would like some clarification.. The Tactica didnt really spell it out for me.

With the stones powers it states 'choose one of the following' So my assumption is you cant shift them to a new position, then use them to teleport correct?

So say Gorax was 7 inches up the battle field, you shift them into formation around him, he wants to teleport... But because they chose to shift, they cant teleport...right?

Thanks! Still getting used to hordes stuff =P

    No man.

When you activate the stones, you get a choice of 3 powers. Healing Field, Shift (self) or Teleport (other).

Teleport happens during the Stone's activation. So If you wanted to port the Gorax and have him do something, he'd have to be sitting in the Stone's triangulation, Stones port him, then he activates and does his business.

The first 5 points of just about any army for me is 2xstones and the UA. Just keep trying them, they took me while to get the hang of making them useful but you can. Having 2 sets of stones helps with always making sure you can surprise your opponent. I often have one set Teleport a beast and the other set catch up to my beast that moved forward on their own.
IMO You want the stones in base contact with the back of your beasts, just off to the side so that the beasts are barely in between two of them. When I set them up (AD) I leave them off to the side so the beasts can run past them and they can move up behind them.
The advice that my LGS gives new people playing my circle is to kill one of the stones out of each squad first. but with one set stealth and right behind the beasts and the other set behind that, killing them is not that easy.
Don't blame bad dice rolls for your losses. It was your lack of planning that made you roll trip-ones.
