Default arc nodes as re-enforcements ?

Has anyone tried using an Arc node in your re-enforcements ?

    Seems like an interesting idea.

I'm thinking of it for Scaverous, something like a Defilier and min bloodgorgers or something.

But yeah, having an extra arc node pop up on the flank when you want, and able to run, may catch some people out.

Also, having a defilier with 3 focus popping on sounds interesting anyway, spr 8 pow 12, so a 19"-20" threat from the board edge ?

It would sure as hell be fun. Not sure if viable, though.

Never played with reinforcments, think no one in my country/meta used reinforcments sofar.

But i like your idea. it comming with focus is nice so you can run into position or charge somthing with a ripjaw.

I can imagine doing scourge+parasite on enemy caster with a ranged pdenny list.

i've done it once or twice, it's one of the few times i've actively wanted a Defiler (not normally a fan). Have used a Nightwretch too so that i can make use of its 3 Focus (one to boost hit roll, one to add AOE effect, and one for a damage boost on the primary target or a desirable secondary) but it has only a slightly lower threat range (weapon range 2 inches shorter). Have gone with a WWS on top of the Defiler for massed spray effect on infantry, it worked pretty well. The downside to bringing on an Arc-Node is that it needs to be close enough to the 'Caster to get full value or you may not get to use all the free Focus that you get due to running to get into a good position from which to Arc effectively. If you maneuver things properly and the opponent is in a suitable position it works quite well.

I know they are part of SR12. But 80% of our playerbase are newbies that hardly know most of the rules. At the moment i am devolping them towards 35 points and the 2 list thing. Most of our armies are the khador and mentoth stuff that comes in the 2 player box.

I am one of the few that actually played at 50 points in our meta.

    Baby steps.

and english isnt my native language, so sorry for the bad spelling.

I used one to good effect in the UK masters. I was using ESkarre. A defiler coming in off the flank and first managed to help wipe out a unit of fen blades. (Black spot was already up on them) and then contested an objective. I would actually say in lists that are more arc node dependant, having one in reserve might be a good idea. Most opponents single them out and by turn 3 they are either engaged or dead, having done their job of getting the early upkeeps in place. But for someone like PGaspy or PDenny that have very solid magical caster kill ability, Having an Arc node come screaming onto the field turn 3 may catch people out and may offer you an unexpected angle.
