Default Attacks with multiple AoE templates, e.g. Scatter Shot and Carpet Bomb: simultaneous?

Some Special Attacks - such as Herne & Jonne's Scatter Shot and Durgen Madhammer's Carpet Bomb - allow me to place additional AoEs after placing the initial AoE.

    1) Do I place all these AoEs, and only then resolve the attacks? Or do I place and resolve each AoE before moving on to the next?

    2) Some of these AoEs may overlap. Can a model be directly hit, or indirectly hit (blast damage) more than once during a single attack?

My understanding: place all AoEs, then resolve all attacks. A model can only be hit or indirectly hit once.

My reasoning: this is a single attack that happens to consist of three AoEs, not a series of three separate attacks.

Apologies if this has been answered elsewhere, and double apologies if you the answer is explicit in Prime MKII. I have searched!

I'm not sure of the wording for Carpet Bomb, but for John's Scatter Shot, you find the initial point of impact for the first shot and then you roll for the deviation of the other 2 shots, both originating from the first shot. So, you would place down the AOEs first.

As for damage, they are all part of the same attack, but each AOE is causing its own source of damage. In the case of overlap, a model should be receive a damage roll for each AOE that touches it.

@Xerus, so, there's no need for me to physically make three AoE templates? I can place the original AoE, resolve its attacks, then repeat for the other AoEs, allowing any given model to be hit multiple times?

Yes and no. You can determine who's being hit one AOE at a time, and even score multiple hits, but all hits will be resolved simultaneously.
