Anyone Run 3 x Posse?

Guess I'll keep these multiples threads going:

So, six months later I answered my own thread with 'yes, at this stage in gator releases, 2 x full posse is inevitable': http://privateerpressforums.com/show...sse-Inevitable

However, now I've come into 3 x full posse. Although they'd be easy to sell or handy for 75-point+ / multi-caster games, I'm curious, at 50 points and under, what builds do they go in? Or is it just spam joy lists that will be better filled with the likes of witch doctors and other support in place of posse #3?

I have seen some list with a third unit in the reinforcements, but it was a min unit with something else I think.
I am curious about this too though; I own 3 units of gators.

It will come to no surprise to any of you, that one regarded by most as one of the more insane members of this community {aka - ME!!} has run three max posse in the past... and at 35 points no less!!

Hmmm... I have a tourney this Saturday requiring only one list, and we are getting randomly dealt an out-of -faction spell card. I just might use this list...

Either that, or my Rhulic Hammertime list... Madhammer, 2x Rockrams, and 30 Forgeguard.

I still have about 34 hours to decide.

I have been wanting to try Rhulic casters. They seem fun. I like that they are not as developed as well. Gators are solid this is true. Its our version of infantry machine only our infantry is already good before the buffs.

I played against a 50-point Maelok list recently that had 3 full units of GMP, and it was a LOT to try to deal with to be sure.

Hmmm, pretty tough call then. I know I wouldn't run three with Calaban (tier benefits are too good), and while Maelok will likely switch to tier once the witch doctor comes out (unless losing Thrullg hurts too much), maybe 3 in non-tier would be better. Barnabas can run three in or out of tier (although tier means no Thrullg...).

Honestly the posse are so good that 3xposse is likely never a wrong choice. At 50 points both Maelok and Barnabus are perfectly happy with three posses, a minimum amount of beasts and some support models. Caliban loves his tier benefits enough that three posse really arent going to happen.

Really its more a lack of options then anything else though. Posses are great for frontline, dont really need support but love buffs when it happens. They kill light and heavy infantry easily. They work well for us. Bog trogs are great with a good ambush but we dont really have the support they need to be solid frontline choice. We dont have the fury management to run multiple melee heavys. 3xposse is filling out points with are most solid dependable option.

We'll see what the Gargantuan releases do to shake things up.

I run 3x max posse with Maelok quite often, even with running Thrullgs. Zombify 2 units, Death Pact the 3rd. People don't seem to enjoy that very much. If I am not running all 3, they are my reinforcements in 50pt games for sure. A max GMP and a feralgeist showing up on your flank is never very enjoyable.

Am now considering running Maelok with that list instead... But at the same time, with the random spell cards each round, it could be worse, or better. Especially considering you get the feat from the back of the spell card too!!
