    Default Kromac 35pt

Hey guys, just looking on some opinions for my Kromac list. I have a Mohsar list that I run against Hordes armies and I want to tailor my Kromac list to be more against Warmachine armies. The list that I'm looking at right now is:

    Kromac (+4)
    Ghetorix (11)
    Gorax (4)
    WW Stalker (10)
    LotF (4)
    Shifting Stones (2)
Warpborn Skinwalkers (Leader and 4 Grunts) (8)

I figure that with this list I will have Ghetorix to really bring the hurt in on high armor jacks that I just need dead (especially warp str + primal). Lord of the Feast gives me a solid anti-infantry option and with the stalker I can get Ghetorix out after he scraps a jack, wipe out any other infantry that the Lord couldn't get to, or charge into another jack, because the stalker is a melee beast himself. The stones because I don't leave home without them, and the skinwalkers because they will help cover Kromac's medium base, and an arm 20 unit (in melee) with 8 boxes is going to take a solid effort from my opponent to remove from the board to get at Kromac. Or I can just run them up and just plain get in the way.
Anyways, that's my thoughts, I'm still fairly new to Warmachine/Hordes and any input would be greatly appreciated

Just for reference, this is what I currently own:
    The battle box
    Mohsar
    Kromac

    Ghetorix
    WW Stalker
    Megalith
    Tharn Bloodtrakers + Nuala
    Stones + Stone Keeper
    Lord of the Feast
(I am planning on picking up the Gorax and the Skinwalkers)

    @OP...

I agree on Ghetorix with him, I play him with it at the 35 pt level as well. Just an FYI the LOTF is not an anti-infantry option. Thats a miscinception about him often. He's got an unique ability to get behind enemy lines and pick off key solos. I also don't like the Skinwalkers, they just don't fit into my style. You need a unit that triggers Warpath moves. The Skinwalkers don't fill that role well.

I highly recommend that you use the the Bloodtrackers, they fit the motif and also really work well with what his spell list wants to do. The battle group is fine, and i also recommend you add a UA to your unit of stones...

    Good luck!

I'm a huge fan of the Bloodtrackers with Kromac (Ok, so I'm a huge fan with them with anyone...), as I think they are some of our best infantry. I don't think that Kromac really needs a dedicated tarpit unit, and if you're careful with him, it will be tough to kill him (if Bestial is up, they can't spell assassinate him, so no debuffs... and if he's getting charged, you've moved him up way too far).

I'd say drop Skinwalkers, and, at the least, add in min bloodtrackers + nuala. Bloodtrackers are great at triggering Warpath, which is crazy good for getting extra range on your beasts and guaranteeing the alpha strike (or getting your beasts where they can do damage where needed).

Your beast loadout is great, though the Gorax's animus isn't quite as useful with Ghetorix (he generally doesn't need it), and Wild Aggression on the Stalker "fixes" what I like to call the "MAT 6 problem), the Goarx is still a fury battery that can do damage in a pinch. I've run Kromac at 35 with only 2 beasts, and while I don't like doing that, it's possible (having that extra fury is a good thing though). I also normally like fitting in the stone-keeper, as it's just that good, though to do that you'd have to drop LotF, bump Bloodtrackers to full, and have a point left over (Gallows Grove?... medium based, charge-lane blocker).

Shifting stones are great utility pieces that can, essentally, act as a tarpit type (blocking charge lanes, contesting zones, being generally annoying), and the UA gives them a lot more flexibility, a magic attack, and stealth (which helps with their low DEF problem of getting shot off the table).

Either way I think what you have is good, but I think Bloodtrackers would perform better, only because SKinwalkers have trouble killing stuff, and triggering Warpath before something moves is great (I got a few wins from unexpected charge lanes due to people not being used to playing against Circle).

I'd personally cut the Skinwalkers and LotF for either full Bloodtrackers + Nuala or 2x Wold Stalkers. Then I'd probably either add a Druid Wilder, 2nd unit of Shifting Stones, or add the Stone Keeper to the unit you have and put the Swamp Gobbers in there to help with some LOS blocking or Prowl triggering.
