Am I the only one that's thinking about a new faction just so I can eventually field their colossal?
For myself, I'm thinking about taking up Retribution of Scyrah just so I can field a Hyperion.

If all else fails, counterattack. At least you'll go down with dice in your hand.
Lose or win gracefully and with good humor, and you will never lack for opponents.
Always remember the dice hate everyone. That includes you.
I'd like to take up Mercs and field theirs, but I have been thinking about Mercs for a while anyway.
Common Sense is a Myth.
An interesting question. XD
For me, I'd have to say... not really. I've currently got at least partial armies for all the factions I'm interested in playing, and I'll likely get the Colossals for all of them - so Cygnar, Protectorate, Mercenaries, Retribution, and Legion.
The other factions have some interesting-looking models -- I think Conquest looks particularly awesome, because I like the slab-sided armor and gun turrets -- but I can't really see myself playing armies of those factions....
My Cleansers have killed: 2 Combine members, Finn, pNemo, Sentinel, Lord of the Feast, eMadrak, Mordikaar, pKreuger, Molik Karn, Calaban
Lord Carver has successfully raided: Xerxis, Shae, Nemo
2012 Cygnar Challenge! The sturdy grunts of the Irregular 11th versus the gleaming mechanika of the Flashing 1st!
I feel like maybe I had some of these aspirations initially when I was seeing models and the book. I think I've now settled into a place where I'm really just excited to get the Woldwrath for my faction when it comes out and for my fiance to get a Kraken for her Cryx force.
The two-player battlebox and the gargantuan sneak peeks gave me the push I needed to get into Legion this week.
Evil wins when good men do nothing.
I had been interested in Cygnar but the Stormwall pushed me over the edge. Currently working out possible double Conquest lists so will end up with Khador. May get tempted by Mercs if the Galleon looks good. And I've got three of the Hordes factions already....
I just bought into legion
You are not the only one, I have a Battle Box of PoM to do demos with... and I like the looks of the Judicator, so I've been thinking that come new years I may create a small Exemplar only PoM army to field with the Judicator.
As it stands I'm already going to get a Kraken, Hyperion, Mountain King, Galleon, and maybe a Conquest...
Retribution: 212/240pts 88.33% +6/7 casters | Cryx: 156/228pts 68.42% +7/7 casters
Trollbloods: 252/252pts 100% +11/12 locks | Legion: 144/154pts 93.51% +5/5 locks
Mercenaries: 169/169pts 100% +5/5 casters | Cyriss: 0/0 +0/0 casters [To be Added]
Protectorate: 73/165 44.24% +4/6 casters | Total Collection: 1006/1208pts 83.28%
I am debating whether to go: Menoth for the BE, Colossals and the sweet, sweet solos; or Cryx and forget all about them.
eStryker is my copilot.
I've slowly begun acquiring some Legion models because I'm pretty sure I want to play with that dragon when it comes out (and I'll have surplus Legion anyway when I buy the 2 player battlebox for the Circle).
This sentence is false.
If I had to pick a new faction just for their Colossal/Gargantuan, I'd have to pick Farrow.
The idea of a building- sized pig amuses me greatly. I would name it Sir Bacon von Oinksalot IV, Esq.

The only true name for a Farrow Gargantuan, my good sir, is Hogzilla!
I want a Mountain King under Doomshaper, Rage of Dhunia. In fact, Doomshaper, Mulg the Ancient and 2 Mountain Kings sounds hiiiiiilarious. Probably throw in some Krielstone bearers with the leftover points and play a game of "how many Whelps can I fit on the table?"![]()

Galleon essentially pushed me over the edge into Mercs. I'd just figured out how fun Durgen would be with my Kayazy and was trying to find excuses not to pick them up, but Galleon definitely dragged me over the edge.
If anything, some of them just increase a faction's existing desirableness. Circle and Cygnar are both factions that have my eye, and both of them are getting giant models that certainly demand attention.

Archangel looking as badass as it does is getting me to go Legion so yes, I am indeed picking up a new faction due to a Colossal/Gargantuan.
Legion lucked out with an amazing Battle Engine AND Gargantuan (from what I can tell from the previews). That, combined with Typhon, Carnivean, eThags and Spell Martyrs, has convinced me to put Trolls on hold and pick up Legion. Woohoo!
I wouldn't play Cygnar, but if I did, it would be because of the Stormwall.
I just started Cygnar, but it was purely a coincidence. And my first model was a Stormwall just so that I could deprive the other Cygnar players from having one first.
That said, no. All the colossals/gargantuans I like happen to be for factions I already play/played and will have them all eventually. Skorne, Trolls, Circle, and Khador hold no interest for me, even with their new super-heavies.
"If at first you don't succeed, label it version 1.0."
I am only recently getting into WM and I've chosen Khador so the conquest is a definite buy for me, I was pondering over the fact of what my second army should be (and since this is so much cheaper than 40k I can actually think about such things) and PoM and Cygnar was jostling for my choice but PoM knights and the colossal just won it over
I picked up Khador a week or two after pictures of Conquest came out. I've already secured my means of getting my hands on one within a week or so of its release.
Before Gargantuans came out, I made the mistake of saying that if Legion got a dragon, I was starting them. Saw the concept art, sent my money to the guys at discount games the next day for a small legion army that will get a lot bigger when that archangel comes out.
I have a Kraken in my future for the main force. Some day I'll paint my Pigs and Gators. But that damned Judicator may make me start a PoM army...
They're nice models - I don't think they alone would tip me into a new faction.
It's hard to say - I really like Cavalry models and the Gun Carriage + Mounted Vlad is really making me consider Khador - his theme force is tailor-made for a cavalry only force (Well + Drago and maybe Spriggans or a Conquest). I'm only not sure because I don't like winterguard; I'm currently holding off on the idea to see what the new cavalry unit for Khador is.
I'd really like to field an Umbrean army (Or a Llaelese one) - not just mercs that work for Llael or Umbreans that are part of Khador.
Back on topic: All the colossals so far just look to me like scaled up models from their factions. (Not that they're bigger; but they all carry the same aesthetic tastes taken to a great degree). I don't think I'd start trolls just because the latest troll looks the best (it's still a troll), or dragonspawn because the latest dragonspawn is the best (ect.). They may however open up new themes that I'd like to explore (like Umbrean cavalry forces).
And her beauty was all the more perfect and serene, preserved forever within that great glacier of ice.
I can see the draw that colossals would have on people getting into a new faction. With one big purchase, you have a lot of points you can point onto the table. I know for myself, I am drawn to play either Khador or Protectorate for the colossal. If the Protectorate colossal looks as good as the concept art, it will be hard not to start that faction.
I just want to be able to point to the Hyperion and say, "Firing the Wave Motion Gun."![]()
