Was playing my buddy in a 25 point game earlier and i made 10 tough rolls in a row on his first turn attacking, losing no figures to his entire army. He immediately scooped out of rage. I couldn't stop laughing.
I have figured out why i wasn't succeeding on more tough rolls and that's cause I didn't have the trollblood scrum dice lol. So I decided to fix that lol
Usually I don't care much about my thought rolls, but I have to confess that lately I've been so lucky with them. Caine2 tried an assasination run agains grissel2, He has to kill a min KSB to reach them, 9 shoot latter I have 2 KD scribes and Grissel2 unharmed. A Mule hot critical devastation over 4-5 Kriels/scatterguners, throwing them against each others and a obstacle, 0 casualities. And I made several thought rolls with Grissel2. All that in the last few weeks playing the journeyman league.
I've learned english reading Warmachine and Hordes books (I mean sorry... ¬¬')
Don't feel too bad. After all, 1 in 59049 is bound to happen some times.
Don't feel bad about it unless your opponent has real sympathy for you the next time that he kills ten models in ten attacks on his first turn attacking.
Anyone who gets upset at me making tough rolls who doesn't feel sympathy for me in missing 10, needs to be reminded this is a game with dice.
I once made 18 out of 20 tough rolls in a turn... it would have been a bad turn for me if not
18 of 20 sounds mighty good.
I had a tournie where I made three tough rolls in two games. In the third game, I looked at my opponent and apologized, because he was going to get all my tough rolls for the day. Sure enough, one Kriel warrior made 7 tough rolls straight.
What's your longest tough rolls streak (per model or army)?
Huh. Six months away from Cygnar and I've forgotten how to win... until Kara Sloan goes all 'bullet to the head' several games in a row. It's good to be back.
conejitoD, you should care deeply about your thought rolls.
Knowledge arcana and knowledge planes is the most important knowledge in DnD you know.
Yeah, had a game that I lost with single Madrak on the field with no fury, survived all the tough rolls from the harbinger, stood back up, swung and killed.
feels guilty good man, feels good guilty.

I have a friend who constantly says that tough takes all the fun out of the game because one person will always be annoyed or frustrated no matter the roll.
Most recent post on my blog is Data geek fun with game record and battle journal update and I tweet game stuff @somnicidal
I find that tough can be a very polarizing factor when playing with or against Trolls. You really have to handle it with a light touch otherwise your opponents can be soured by the experience. I also find laughing about that sort of thing unless your opponent shares in the levity of the situation is generally the worst thing to do because people can feel like you are laughing at them instead of the situation. So, enjoy the moment and the sheer craziness that dice can bring to the game, but remember it's not all about you.
Fine... but since the point is that I've had games where I missed 20 in a row... and only had 20 casualties.
I get a little frustrated if I play a whole game and never make a tough roll successfully. And opponents who can empathize a little are easier for me to empathize for when the other way happens. That's the point.
With Rhupert and (soon to be) witch doctor, those tears over tough need to go.

*sigh* If only I could get such good rolls...
We are all legends. Our only choice is how to end the tale...
My Fennblade Drummer is the king of tough rolls! He almost never dies, and will usually make 2-3 tough rolls in a game. If he does die, he's always the last Fennblade standing, and is still in the way, blocking charge lanes =D
I would never feel bad about making an extreme about of tough rolls. I've played several games where I could count the number of Toughs made on one hand, the other way around would be a welcome invitation. Come to think of it I've never had a game where Tough won me the game... Maybe it's right around the corner!

I don't think I have ever made 10 tough rolls in a row, that's great.
I have actually been thinking about buying some casino dice because I don't seem to consistently make 1/3 tough rolls. Casino dice are flatter and supposedly well balanced so the odds of rolling specific numbers are actually valid.
Mine definitely seem to come in waves too (usually waves of not passing the tough). But sometimes it's a matter of perspective in how successful your tough rolls are, because every tough roll you make is another dude your opponent is going to have to deal with next turn, so even if you only get two out of five then that can be annoying to them.
In the last game I played my remaining three Kriel Warriors toughed, but then they failed their command check. Hah

If it makes you feel better, I just went 0 for 11 Tough rolls in my game earlier today.
There was one game against a skorne list where I made so many tough rolls in the game my opponent asked if my dice were loaded and even checked them after the game. To his surprise they are not loaded haha
I have days when I'm on fire, but others that suck. I've only ever made one tough roll that mattered on my caster, and I felt kind of bad about it...
