Default Bog Trog Ambushers Glory Stories

Another Gator player and I got to annoy our Troll opponent with our ambushers.

In my game, the boggers iced his fell caller in the forest and would've removed the Fennblades minifeat if the UA hadn't toughed out. Their lack of pathfinder (save minifeat turn) -- can't fell call nothing when you're dead -- hurt them the rest of the game.

My fellow Gator player (Halfhoot) has a bog trog assassination under his belt, but used his boggers to ice the Chronicler and distract Mulg. Trolls without support are sad.

Gotta say, I love two min units at 50. Neither table side is safe.
Huh. Six months away from Cygnar and I've forgotten how to win... until Kara Sloan goes all 'bullet to the head' several games in a row. It's good to be back.

I have two tales to share - one mine, and one from another player...

    His :

During a tourney, a unit of Ambushers got the drop on a Khadoran gun carriage, and one-shotted the thing to pieces.

    Mine :

While beta testing the 2011 Steam Roller scenarios, I ambushed Zaal with a min unit. He had used all his fury and could not transfer.

And now, not only do I have the fastest caster kill at one of my two LGS's, but thanks to me, your board edges are both full sides in the radial deployment scenario!!

I'd say the most impressive single model my BTA's have taken was Fenris. He was the only one they could reach, my BTAs just seem to funnel my opponents towards the center(exactly what I'm looking for!) Still, they not only made their command check, but unhorsed him and then killed the abomination along with some Uhlans. Not too bad.

Signature stolen from Rotfell until he asks me to change it...

Yea I really like those buggers. They do get some good kills in but I find their main thing is threatening the back army support models. It forces your opponent to turn some stuff around to deal with them. Just won a tournament with Blindwater yesterday and in my final game they ended up pulling a Gladiator out of the fight by engaging him from behind and forcing him to turn around to deal with them. They actually didn't get a kill in that game but Barney "only" had to face two bronzebacks and some of the sword guys... which I actually did without *too* much trouble. If that third big beast has been in the mix it might have been a different story.

As Sardonic mentioned I do have one warlock kill under my bog trog's belts... It was Rasheth though so I don't know if that counts.

Half a unit of kayaze knocked down by barney's feat was also a fun ambush kill.

I also find that using Bog Trogs a lot have made me used to bringing in models on turn 2 which has helped me in reinforcement scenarios!!

Had a game recently that went basically:

My first turn: I run stuff forward and to my left.
Opponent's first turn: He runs stuff forward and to my left.
My second turn: Bog trogs appear on the side of the board, charge and kill his caster.

I had a game recently where my opponent forgot that the trogs weren't deployed, he ran Saxon orrick, alten Ashley and a unit of slaughterhousers down my right flank on turn 1. Turn two the trogs ambush, kill the two beast hunters and take out some pigs. Would have been more but my friends rolls 5's & 6's inordinately well.

The best part was that his pigs could seem to hit me back so the trogs chewed through them and wound up attacking carver. Sadly that was the last turn so they didn't get to die to the hand of god lol
