    2 Warwitch Sirens

Bane Thralls or Satyxis Raiders with the appropriate unit attachments.
Bane Lord Tartarus or Satyxis Raider Captain (get the one to match the unit above).
The unit you didn't purchase above (along with the attachment and solo you didn't get).

    2 Nightwretch or Ripjaws.
Maybe a pair of special bonejacks--helldivers or stalkers.

Deathjack and/or your choice of jack kits (slayer or crab chassis).

The minimalist in me says that you only need to get a Warwitchar Siren, a Skarlock Thrall, and the Necrosurgeon+Stitch Thralls. After that, its entirely gravy.

If you have a few extra dollars after that, I suggest a Reaper Helljack, a second Warwitch Siren, a second Necrosurgeon+Stitch Thralls, and Deneghra the Warwitch Warcaster.

Next level down after the stuff I put are the above listed units and attachments from Neldar, as well as Darragh Wrathe the Dragoon solo.

    As others have said:
First purchase should be a Skarlock Thrall, Necrosurgeon and Stitch Thralls to complement your McThralls and 1-2 Warwitch Sirens.
Then one of the 2 units Neklar suggested (Bane Thralls + UA and Tartarus or Satyxis Raiders + UA and Captain), but getting Bane Knights instead of Thralls would work just fine as well, they're down to personal preference. Satyxis Blood Witches + UA are good as well, but you'll get more mileage from the Raiders.
    Then Bile Thralls.
Then the other unit of the 2.
    Then Darragh Wrathe/General Gerlak Slaughterborn.

You could get Deathjack or another jack after you've gotten the first unit.
I don't think you need different arc nodes just yet. Deathrippers are 4 points and that's what you should care about. The weapons are secondary and it's an age old debate of which is better.

And with age old you mean: popped up on the internet 2 weeks ago

    On topic:
Some more casters for fun and different playing style?
    Skarlock
Necrosurgeon & Stitch Thralls/ Some extra Mc Thralls (it does happen!) 1 blister should be enough/ last brute thrall
War Witch Sirens (at least 1)
Bile thralls (7 is all you need here)
    Bane Knights/ Bane Thralls +UA a Tartarus
Seether/ Malice (Slayer is hardly ever used except in Mortenebra tier 4 list and Erebus isn't used without Terminus or Scaverous)

I agree with the others just the order is a bit different to me.

But if you really want a good feel for the faction I would suggest you start with some more casters.
pLich and pSkarre give you a very nice feel for the faction and are a heap of fun to play.

Yes I might pick up a caster aswell, Canuberon.
With pLich you mean Gaspy? Which I heard is supposed to be loads of fun.
Guess im still a Warmachine Newbie .

Hmm I always thought that a Slayer was a great addition as a heavy hitter in the Cryx army. If I were to use the Helljack would it be best to turn him into a reaper Helljack?

Thanks for your answers fellow Cryxians!

Most people recommend magnetizing a helljack kit to have all 3 options available, but the one coming in the battle box can only become a Slayer, unless you buy the other parts seperately.
Most of our casters don't like handing out their focus in favor of casting spells/camping, which means you rarely see heavy jacks in a Cryx list (which may or may not change in the near future because of Colossals). The Slayer will generally want 3 focus to function or at the least 2, to charge and boost to hit on a combo-strike.
Many like taking Deathjack or a Seether because of them generating their own focus. But even with a Seether, it suffers of the same weakness our other jacks do: they're relatively frail.
I think the Reaper is the better of our Slayer-chassis jacks, but even he is mostly passed up in favor of Malice or more infantry.
That's not to say none of our casters can play jacks, but even those that do take a heavy, will generally not take more than one, the exception being eSkarre and Mortenebra, since they make them very efficient.

    hmm I see..
So pGaspy it is! Thanks for you input, Gamingdevil.

The need for a helljack that requires focus is not what the Cryxian casters want, (best is self generating jacks with focus)

    You're welcome.
I just want to stress that this isn't necessarily true in all situations, but if you do take a heavy, it will have a specific role and in 90% of cases, it will not be a Slayer.
To start out, it's best not to dwell on them too much.

Croe's may not be faction models but with the addition of Scaverous they might as well be. Buy them and laugh at any and all living models.
