Default Stolen collection :( keep your eyes peeled please.

hey everyone. I had my whole skorne collection stolen, out of my trunk when i wasnt with my car out at Charleston Oregon. I only post because it's a fairly small community, so if you guys see any of my mini's floating around or the collection being sold on ebay or craigslist or whatnot i figure someone can let me know, and i would certainly offer a reward of 100 dollars or so if anyone happened to see it. I had a bunch of unpainted unassembled minis, mostly skorne and skorne compatable mercs/minions, but then a whole bunch of painted skorne in a pistol case with the skorne symbol paint markered onto the front. They all have a sparkling black with bronze trim motif for their armor except for some character pieces that i wanted to look unique. My bronzeback was reposed to be standing on a rock with his body up and his fitsts triumphantly in the air, and my archidon was reposed to be about to take off, standing on top of an 8 inch tall pillar. Also i played the epic morghoul themeforce, which is apparent when you open my case as its loaded with blood runners, and there is also a custom crafted male master tormentor piece in mid sprint with a razor whip trailing behind him. all of my paingivers are painted dark purple and all the officers have designs on their cloaks in lavender. epic morghoul has an OM design on his. *sigh* I am dissheartened, but who knows, maybe someone will find them and my collection will make its way back to me. I can post some more pictures later too, as i have them in a gallery on my facebook, but here are a few for now. thanks for your help everyone. I had to add in this link to the craigslist ad i posted so people could see the pictures. there are only 8 of them, and i never even took pictures of my blood runners, but these models are fairly distinct and my style is pretty consistent.

That sucks, man. I'm half a world away from Oregon so it's unlikely I'll see anything, but I wanted to extend my sympathies.

Doubt it will make it as far as me but if i see it online anywhere will definitely post. You may be out of luck, as alot of theives will see what they think are toys and just toss it in the trash... see if you can contact a local landfill and either go out in person or hopefully someone will have noticed the case.

I live in BC, Canada, but you never know. But that really sucks. I know I'd be pretty chocked if my stuff went missing especially with the amount of time I've spent painting those guys. Your pictures aren't available at the moment in those links, but I'll keep an eye out. Hopefully you get your stuff back.

I would recommend canvassing the areas trashcans and dumpsters. Someone with no knowledge of the game might just pitch them when they realized they stole some weird "toys" and not guns or other valuables. Just a thought.

i tried to pick models that would stand out as my style and would identify the collection. If you think you come across a model that looks suspiciously similar in style let me know and i can send you a picture. ive photographed pretty much everything, except i never did take pictures of any of my blood runner units or solos... which is especially a shame cause of that sweet custom blood runner i made...

i had to leave immediately for a town north of their for work. i work with commercial fishermen so they are always on the move. im going to try to get back down there though and post some reward posters that mention that i suspect it might be in the dumpsters or in the landfill. Maybe ill get lucky and someone will be motivated to find it for the reward, and if i actually have a day off i can look myself.

You say it was in a pistol case? Might want to describe the case as well, or a photo as well (more so if it's got the skorne sign on it), since if these where ditched, they may have been ditched case and all, so keeping an eye out for that will be big. More so if someone happened to grab the discarded case (i.e after the theif realized they did not steal a pistol with high secondary market value, but easily identified toys worth perhaps scrap value). Best of luck tracking them down.

There isnt a lot to say about the case. It was designed to hold two pistols, the skorne symbol on it is red with a metalic outline, and the case itself is simple black plastic with foam inside. It is about 20 inches long and maybe 12 inches wide, 5 inches deep and has a simple handle and latches. There isnt much to it. There was an identical case with it that was also stolen, but it was empty and had nothing painted on it yet. As i painted more minis i was going to fill that case too.

This is terrible. Add a small description of the pistol cases to your craigslist post. I hope these make it back to you.

I had the same thing happen tom me year ago with Warhammer 40k minis, My car was stolen and my minis were in toolboxes, the thief probably saw the toolboxes thinking he could sell the tools, I am pretty sure he saw the plastic men and threw them away.

I am really sorry for your loss, your minis were beautifully painted and that Bronzeback conversion was really cool.

I dont know how big your city is, but you may want to check with the local street people. Show them a flyer, tell them there is a rewardand you may just find someone who knows where they might be. I know in my city, if I am ever looking for something stolen or out of the ordinary, I have befriended a few guys who seem to know a lot more than you may think. And dont ever forget, they are regular folks just like everyone else.

If they were in a pistol case the thieves were probably hoping for a firearm that they could sell easily. After seeing the minis, they probably just dumped it somewhere. Sorry man.

the consensus that they are probably in a dumpster or a ditch or landfill somewhere is probably correct. Thanks for keeping your eyes open and thank you everyone who took the time to look at my post. if you see anything, just send me a private message or something. thanks again.

Something similar happened to me with my MTG decks collection. It was all in a nice metallic suitcase, so the thief must have thought it was electronics or tools. I immediately went to all the game shops in town to give them a very precise description of my collection.

Weeks passed, then I got a call. I thought my stuff lost forever, but amazingly one of the shops I visited had caught the thief red handed trying to resell my cards. The guy obviously had no idea how much the cards were worth and it would have been impossible that someone would have the same exact 7 decks that I had in the suitcase.

They confiscated the cards and told the thief they knew it was stolen stuff, so he ran away before any cops could arrive.

All I can say is don't lose hope, you never know. Try game shops and pawnshops.

I really wish you good luck.

If there are pawnshops nearby, or in the nearby towns (been a long time since I have been in that area of Oregon, so I can't speak directly to it) I would let them know. They are often willing to keep an eye out for those types of things.

Beyond that, that sucks man. Good luck, hope you find it.

As a fellow gamer I'm really sorry about your loss. I hope the thief dies a very painful fiery death.

    Something archaic like this? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Inferno...le_.28Fraud.29

Anyway, it never hurts to contact potential resell points and visit the dump, if your local dump is small enough to handle. It is your call what the monetary and time worth of your army when deciding to commit more time into trying to find it.

I play Skorne myself, and the thought of repainting and repurchasing what I have would kill me, I feel for you man.

To try and find a silver lining, maybe now you can try another faction. I realize that is hollow advice, but it is the best I have unfortunately. Skorne is hard to leave.

always sucks to hear things like this happening

i keep considering keeping a card inside the box (maybe stuck to the lid where its obvious?) giving my phone number, and offering a reward (say $50 or so). that way when the thieving bastard discovers its just models not tools or anything, he can at least phone me up pretending to be a helpful stranger that just found it dumped somewhere. costs me some money, and rewards the thieving bastard more than i'd like, but at least it increases the chances of getting the models back...
