I don't know at what point my brain clicked over, but I don't forget vengeance like ever now. However screaming "Vengeance!" every time one dies as a joke at my LGS might have helped!

Is it me or are trolls the most common faction to hate their models at first release, then come around to them slowly later on? I remember all of the hate eGrissel got when she released, and now it seems like a lot of my Trollblood playing friends use her all the time. Same thing happened with the Sons of Bragg.
I'm not sure, but I often question local Trollblood players playing ability. In my meta Trolls aren't very well represented. There is really only one troll player in the area that I would like to play and see if he is better than me, but he's such an obnoxious twit that I would be more inclined to punch him than play him. Another guy in the area is a good player but still feeling his way through Trolls, so there is hope there. And Trollicious on these forums is probably better than me with Trolls if he were to go back to them as a main faction, but he's been too enamored with making Cygnar work lately. I think a lot of hyper competitive players go for other factions, and people who like flavor go for Trolls. I happen to be in both camps.
Sons of Bragg were hated for their sculpts, not their rules, and as far as I know still are.
eGrissel on the other hand is seeing playtime based a lot on the fact that she is new, new things are fun to try out, and new things catch people off guard for a little while. She's not horrible, but she certainly isn't suddenly a top tier warlock.
Spume, I don't know if he plays anymore, but one of my old players moved out to NYC a few years back, and he was a good trollblood player (qualified for adepticon finals). But he was a former marine and an extremely nice guy, and that does not sound like the person you describe.

This isn't that guy, this is a 21ish college student. Pretty vocal on these forums but I'm not going to call him out by name. He's just very arrogant and abrasive in the way that kids can be before they taste what the real world is about. The arrogance born of inexperience.
In regards to eGrissel if her third spell was pretty much anything else, and her feat was just a straight +2 arm she would be one of our top tourney casters. As it is now she can create some devastating scenarios if your opponent doesn't have both mass pathfinder along with heavy hitters. Some lists just have no answer for what she brings.
I think it's fair to say that the worst things about eGrissel is the feat-that-isn't and a very bare bones spell list.
If either were "fixed" she'd probably be one of our most competitive choices, given the big girl's stats and calls.
I totally agree. Her feat is craps and her spells are meh but I love her gun!
Flanzer had a list he used during LnL to win. I heard it was mostly beasts with like a krielstone unit or something. I would love to see the details on it and how it works.
Her sculpt is amazing, but her rules are really meh. I have tried her in several incarnations with numerous list builds and she just has not worked for me. Between her need to be at or near the front, her lack of overall good spells and her terrible feat, my opponents tend to chew through her. She has some really bad matchups probably more than good ones.
