Default Models lost in a move

Hey guys. I got a question for you. I recently moved from Japan to America through a military PCS move. Well in that move they lost all the models that didnt have battlefoam (my order hadnt arrived yet) and my bits box. so whats frustrating is that box was full of random pp bits, to the brim, and were talking a drawer thats 1ftby 1ft by 14inches deep. I would get ebay orders for the cheap and any models I couldnt easyily fix or didnt want to mess with till later, would get cleaned up and chucked in there. My problem is this, How do I guestimate the value of that. I know some of the specific items value, the one battleengine and 2 extremes that were in there, with the random other jacks and models I can remmeber sure. But how do you estimate the value of 8 Menoth jack kits extra parts, or three broken crabjacks thatjust needed a little TLC, without sounds like a monney grubbing not nice person? whats yalls thoughts?

PS: any assembled models that they put in with the ones, I will be definatly going for full retail for.

Look in the bits part of the Privateer press store to find out what the individual bits were worth adn total up what you would need to buy to replace all the bits you can remember having. Then add a guestimate on shipping cost for it all and that is a fair idea of what they are worth.

    Hey!

I lost a whole case when I PCS'ed TO Japan, so I feel you. I will never replace that Avatar. Anyway, if you have done a PCS move before, you should know the drill. Your best guess is to not have too much heartache over the exact amount, and guess.

What would be way easier then going through all the bits, would be to look at your paypal/ebay receipts, and guess from that total. If I were you, I would just put a nice round number on it.

I can guarantee it wasn't the Japanese companies fault, since they will wrap an empty plastic water bottle with 10 sheets of paper and then label and inventory it for your move. Once you get back to the states, stuff immediately starts getting lost and 'dropped.'

Just remember you only have 75 days!!!!

Estimate the cost based on what it would cost you to replace those models at retail price. In the case of fully assembled models, their MSRP. In the case of individual parts only available inside kits, the cost of those kits. In the case of individually ordered parts, the MSRP of those parts. Additionally, in the case where shipping is applicable, include that cost. If possible, print out the MSRP pricing available from Privateer Press and attach individual claims to line items in that pricing.

Do not discount the replacement of those parts based on any 'deal-hunting' you went on to acquire them: Use full MSRP.

And I don't think TMO (Or whatever it's called in the branch of service that you're in) will give you too much hastle for your claim. Things get broken during a PCS. Replacing them is part of the cost they absorb for changing your duty station.

I feel for you... I thought they had lost all mi models from my unaccompanied baggage ... but they showed up today with the house hold goods... I was dreading having to claim all the models ... do you have USAA for insurance?... if the claim doesn't go well you can always ask them about filing through them.
