A Fiona list with only five pirates including herself fights to victory against a High Reclaimer infantry horde. Despite the Reclaimer's ability to put down clouds being a nasty counter to my Nonkorion Branded Longgunners, in the end he went for a spell assassination and couldn't roll the 13 on 3 dice he needed to hit and only set himself on fire.

Protip: remember how annoying it was to fight Thorn in Mk1? Well, Telgesh Mark on one of Thor's gunners is just like that, only cheaper, carries a nifty gun and you have a backup if the first one dies.

In the first run of the Magnus tier 4 list managed to outshoot siege and double defenders with a sniped mule, a mariner and double renegades. Cortex on one defender fell early so it was easy to arcantric bolt him 2 turns, while my other jacks proceeded to destroy second defender, shielding themselves behind cover ( my own cover!). Steelheads mopped up some precursors dying in the process. Good times.
Also, blur on Mags saved the day against siege assasination attempt. blur+cover = Magnus immune to ranged assassination!

One more for Ashlynn. Played with ATGM+UA + Twin Mules, but the star of the show was my Nomad, wrecking a Kodiak, Beast-09 and a Destroyer over the course of the game. Okay, they were all softened up by been thrown around but none the less, again the Nomad delivers.

Ashlynn vs. Haley
Played ATGM+UA+Mule. All-in-all, they killed 3 Cygnaran ATGMs, and that's it...a rather poor showing. I also ran Harlan Versh and Taryn di la Rovissi, both of whom died without doing much, but certain drew a LOT of attention their way.
Still MVPs of the whole game: Quickened Forge Guard with Tough from Rhupert. Between DEF12 ARM18 and Tough (with lots of lucky rolls), they absorbed the entire Haley Feat turn from a unit of Trenchers, a Charger, a Sentinel, Haley herself, and a Defender. There were still left at the end of that turn!
That set up my turn to move some stuff about, ping Haley with a shot or two from the ATGM, Slam her Shield Guard'ing Sentinel with Ashlynn's Bokur, then a boosted damage Hand Cannon shot from Ashlynn finished the game (needed to roll 13 to kill, and rolled enough 14!)

Yay Ashlynn! I need to get back into the groove of playing Ashlynn and SPD6 Forge Guard. It's a very interesting transition from Searforge Commission.

Another Win for Crazy Rhulic BlastLover, when all my models failed pretty much, overhelmed by swarms of legion beasts, again I can only count on 3 models, Durgen and Herne&Jonne, its enought to pwnd Etagrosh who is too cofident without fury for transfers, that will teach him a lesson For the Searforge!

Played my first game (including Mk1) as Mercenaries (Normally Khador) with Ashlynn. Was also my first game against Deneghra ever. 35 point game. I had to proxy stuff and even with that I ended up at 34 points. Denehgra's feat is ridiculous. But Ashlynn's wone me the game. Along with Shield Guard from the Vanguard. And the Precursor knights did great at screwing with the spells. Deneghra ended up running in to face me herself while my feat was up and active. Couldn't get enough dice going in her favor. I walked up and carved and shot the hell out of her. It was great but I have to say that my army was sub par. Next time I will have ATGM and Taryn in there and see how they do.

Played Durgen against Harbinger. Press Gangers killed the Cav. about a thousand times, just to be Martyred over and over. She sat (stood, hung, whatever) safely, far away. I just couldn't get to her, the Avatar was also a pain. Nothing went my way on this game, oh well you win some and get crushed some. Back to the drawing board.

I've decided to use Durgen this weekend in a Steamroller. I'm crossing my fingers and loading his guns!

Came back from a Steamroller Tournament.
Durgen rocked against Cygnar (it truly helped that this was (is?) my major faction). Beat a Retribution list.....way fun, his feat along with Mac killed the caster with blast damage, hiding behind two jacks. It was against a tough opponent who had won the gold in a steamroller a few times back, and a write up in No Quarter. This made me tingle.

Unfortunately I rolled lousy against a good Khador player, leaving ONE damage box left to Vladd. I repeat ONE damage box.......ouch. This close form taking the number one spot out of about 16 players.

I really enjoyed playing with Durgen.

Tournament today.

First tournament with my Gorten Searforge list, and first time playing my Durgen Highborn list.... period.

Gorten made the 3 Flag scenario into a near auto-win against eHaley.
Durgen decimated Tier 4 Kaelysa with explosivo spam on longgunners combined with feat. But he did get proper PWND by pButcher and pDenny. Still ironing out the kinks in list building and execution with Durgen... but I'm loving it so far.

Durgen + Dougal = epic awesome!

Won my second Merc Caster game. Ashlynn whomped on Magnus. I have to say this: Harlan Versh is amazing if he gets a chance to be. took out 2 renegades in one turn. This was the first time I got to use Taryn Di La Rovissi and she got killed before I got to do anything with her. Also got to use the Gun Mages and they were pretty effective. Shot a mule's arm off. It would have been nice to have the Unit Attachment since Kell, Croe's Cutthroats and some other shinannegans had stealth. My forge guard were devestating with a turn two charge. My big problem was not being able to use my vanguard to any effect. All it did this game was get Black Oil'd by Gorman. in the end my Driller that had been sneaking around behind the Cutthroats with Thor threatened Magnus into running up to Ashlynn with his feat. I thought I was stuck until I remembered her Weapon Master and Reinholdt's ability to give me an extra die on damage. I missed my initial attacks with pretty crappy rolls. but that's my fault for not boosting I suppose. I finally hit with her sword 11+5d6-1 versus his armor of 19. I think I rolled 2 6s a 5 and two 4s. one more hit after that and Magnus was down.

I won first place in the local Resurgence tournament today with a Gorten Searforge force. Army list was the same one I posted in the army-list section.

I won 4 out of the 5 games. The one game I lost I had 4 control points, and I only lost because I rolled snake-eyes on a damage roll with Gorten against Kaelyssa - who only had 3 damage left. I had slaughtered almost all of Kaelyssa's army and taken few casualties. If I had played it safe and run back towards my board edge I would have won by scenario. I got a bit frazzled by the clock (first game) and tried to take out the caster. I would have accomplished it too except for poor dice rolls. This was the first game of the day and at 25 points.

There was 21ish people at this tournament so it ran for a total of 5 games. My match ups were:

Kaelyssa Tier list (dunno what tier - lots of stealthed Retribution mage-hunter units). (25 pts) loss - almost won by both scenario and assassination

pButcher (35 pts) won by assassination at the bottom of turn 3

pButcher - different player (50 pts) won by assassination at the bottom of turn 2

eFeora (50 pts) - ugly game. Won by scenario after spending many turns on fire and finally feating and flinging her whole army way away towards her deployment zone. Lots of dead stuff in both armies in this game

Goreshade (50 pts) - won by assassination at the bottom of turn 3



For the record, I freaking LOVE the new +4" Searforge deployment zone. That is just amazing for Searforge.

Gorten wins with Ethag but Durgen losts with him. MVP are Hammerfall's, surviving each time doing pretty good shooting, Avalancher is only sitting and occuping scenario points and cant kill a damn ****ty shredder. Forgeguard hits hard, but die too fast. Other's - nothing spectacular

It's such a damning tarpit because, unlike many, it is both hard to kill and can lay out lots of damage at the same time. Lots of combos are one or the other.
Anyway, the just sort of muck-up the works, quickly (SPD6!), and the rest of the army positions for a scenario win vs. Cygnar.

A win for EMags against Gasphy. Obliterator won the day, killing a witch, skarlock, necrosurgeon and a handful of MCThralls while they bottle necked in terrain. Adding steelhead trio proved TONS more better than croe's. Also, Saxon Orrick is the new black. He cannot possibly stay that way, but a man can hope..
Still struggling to see why would i ever take Warlord over traitor, when the only thing he got going compared to his previous version is his feat. Even his tiers suck.
Oh, and i found out that my jack bond don't do squat....

5th place (out of 10) in a local Tourney, I think I got the only draw in the event (out of 20 games)... lol totally equal on victory points with no objective points scored (which was my own fault for forgetting a Horgenhold who had a good chance to total one of the objectives (it was the one where you have to destroy the opponents thingies in thier deployment)).

Epic Butcher was my only loss, I don't like his ability to activate things with hate tokens after the turn is over, that Hurt A LOT.
I only lost because Gorten failed to hit with his last attack (needed a 7 on 2 dice) and he only needed to score a 5 (on 2 dice) to kill the Butcher .

There were no faction badges to win, otherwise i'd have taken home the Merc one as the Mags player was very inexperienced.

Oh well, maybe next time.

Magnus took down the Butcher after a misjudged full Throttle left the Butcher in walking distance of the Mangler who promptly stepped up and delivered some hurt. Then Magnus promptly shot Butcher in the face with boosted shotgun.

Out of 2 bucs, a freebooter, and a mule (along with Bart), I was down to my last Buc (who epically failed to net Kreoss despite needing only 5 on a boosted attack) when Bart charged in and ganked Kreoss one-on-one.

I almost feel bad playing Gorten in Searforge when the scenario rolled for was Moshpit. With the extra 4", it's hardly sporting.

Although I did pummel a bunch of 'jacks in the last turn before the feat, just incase....something.
