Two latest battles for Gorten have been victories. The first was a 6 way that's just too crazy to discuss (The Shortmiester was allied with Cryx and Trolls.)

The other game was a thing of beauty vs. the Butcher who had Beast 09, a Juggy and the new MKII K. Heavy in a 35 pt game.

A squad of HammerFall and Horgenhold each did the heavy lifting, squaring off to take chunks out jacks on each turn. They also took the brunt of causalities, bless them.

Landslide pushed the 22 ARM Butcher (sitting on focus) back enough to have him slammed by a headless gun bunny, followed up with CRA from five Hammerfalls, a stab by an Orgen (in revenge for his fallen charge, Thor) and then finished by a Boosted Double Barrel from Gorten.

A loss for Bartolo against eCaine involving several successful tough rolls and some poor play on the part of both players (Oh god did I suck it up fierce after eCaine blew his unsuccessful wad). This was a tournament game, and hilariously I scored 48 APs despite the loss.

Durgen tore apart pIrusk, bypassing his 'jacks and Winterguard riflemen, vaporizing a unit of Assault Kommandos, a squad of Widowmakers, and nearly all of the Great Bears, while some Sea Dogs went after Manhunters or exploded in the process.(win)

Ashlynn had an eventful game against pSorscha, whose newer player botched his first time trying her assasination run, but played so enthusiastically that the game was still immensely fun for both parties. Yay new players that don't suck. (win)

Played with Fiona again today, against Kaylessa in a 25 point game. Pretty much what happened is he ran his Mage Hunters straight into my Boomhowler gang. I proceeded to pop my feat and tear through that wall straight into Kaylessa. She dealt with them for a turn then after that I got a charge off with a loaded up Mangler.

Win, a experimental Durgen list (trying out Alexia, Rorsh and Brine, Steelheads, and other stuff I haven't used with him before) vs an eButcher tier list. His list, at 50 pts, was eButcher, Fenris, Spriggan, Juggernaught, and doom reavers. And doom reavers. And then some doom reavers.

After I'd finished soiling myself, I realised I'd actually assembled just about the perfect counter. Rockbottom kept the abomination checks at bay, primed risen don't provide Hate tokens, inhospitable ground is a hard, hard counter to his stuff, and on his feat turn he got one token by killing a risen, which exploded and killed a steelhead cavalryman. Getting first turn and promptly killing seven and knocking down two doom reavers with Durgen alone (lucky scatters, but MacNaile will do that) also helped. We called it after the eButcher failed feat turn, on account of both needing to head off.

Happy with Rorsh and Brine; they're excellent independent attackers that can tackle a variety of targets. Good solid fun.

This was also my first "risen explodes, kills the model that killed it" moment. It felt good. Sweet, like ambrosia.

After a looong time, a game with EMagnus. Killed Kara Sloan with my flamethrower. First game which i won with EMagnus without Obliterator assassination (whiffed first one boosted on kara, and scattered 6 inches away), and the first game where bullet dodger made difference ( Mags has been in a smoke, and Kara whiffed her first attack on her feat, allowing Magnus to safely hide himself behind the smoke). Decimated my manglers quite nasty on feat turn, though... But, a win is a win...

Got a game in with Gorten today against Morghoul. We played a 20 pointer, and it also marked the first I was able to use the Basher ! It was a really competitive game ! I got a win for the dwarves when my forge guard were able to get a charge on Morghoul ( rolled a 11 to hit ).

Won against eVlad by points in Gauntlet scenario with landslide,Brun and Lug eated drago, won vs Terminus in outflank brun and lug trowed DJ out of control zone, nightmare destroyed ond second zone and on second turn my oponent forgot to control one zone and I win, won against Kara sloan Lug eated her, And lost again Ashlyn Gorten asasinated by forgeguard with quicken.

Played 3 more games with EMagnus. In the first, high reclaimer eats obliterators after failed ranged assassination run on EMags, who had bullet dodger and smoke on him. He tried to tag him with reckoner to lower his def, so that EEyriss could shoot him and dispel bullet dodger, but missed. He was dead next go.
Second game against ESeverius. Everything was going swell, mangler mangled the reckoner, killbox was in place and old man severius had nowhere to run. But, then he feats, and two steelhead halberdiers and two steelhead cavalry decide that they like Menoth, and Magnus didn't pay them enough, so they charge him with flank and kill him dead. Totaly forgot about that...
Third game against EButcher. Managed to pull through feat turn, but fail assassination on EButcher first by missing an open obliterator shot, than my renegade FAILED to push Magnus for 1 inch which was needed to charge Butcher. Butcher rolls 7 focus, kills some steelheads with unnatural disaster, and Lola's EMags face off... Stupid renegade. (rolled 1 for str check for renegade, and 6 for Magnus...)

A boosted Case Cracker, Tuned-Up damage + Redline on Driller, Rockram shot, and 2 charging Forge Guard = Full-health-to-dead Kodiak and Spriggin in a single turn. Since last time I posted, I've won twice with Ashlynn, once just today with Magnus, and my first victory with Shae. I'll add that today proved in my mind that with the right mindset Magnus + Steelheads > Irusk + Winter Guard Deathstar.

I have lost games recently, as well. Except those were with Cryx and once with Zerkova.

Had another 2 excellent games with EMags (duh...). In first against pNemo, I taunt death again by standing with bullet dodger and smoke from gorman in fornt of T-head. He, of course, misses his first ranged attack (on 10, if he hits, game over for Magnus, but fortune favors the bold ), and pNemo feats. However, a good deviation on a crippled obliterator catches him ( I went "all in" hoping for it), and he dies to second obliterator, assault of cavalry and magnuses spray with mobility. Great success.
Second game against EMadrak. Killbox is just mean against all-melle army. Just mean...

Lost with Durgen in a very strange game, and then won with Ashlynn in a thoroughly satisfying one.

The more I play with Ashlynn the more annoyed I am with just how absolutely solid she is. The more I play with Ashlynn the more I realize that in combat she and Shae play completely differently, and I have got to stop going into Ashlynn auto-pilot with Shae.

The more I play Highborn and Searforge with Durgen, the more it makes me want to play Durgen in Four-Star. I wonder why that is.

Win with Gorten in a 2-caster, 75 pt game. Gorten and eHaley vs eMagnus and pMorghoul. Morghoul ended his movement just a little too close to my lines, and an advance and a well-placed telekenesis later, Gorten was in landlside range, Morghoul was outside of transfer range to his beasts, he died quickly and we called it there.

Very bizzare couple of games: one where a friend made both I and my opponent's lists, set up terrain, and said go. fifty points of Fiona and randomcrap against eStryker, Stormguard, Longgunners, Gunmages, eHaley, Stormsmiths, and some 'jacks. Why Junior wasn't in the list I will never know. Fiona Soulfired eHaley to death after an epic last stand against full Longgunner CRAs, a Deadeyed Runeshot from a Defender, and a Deadeyed eHaley's handcannon. Fiona was in a forest and had up Dark Omen, and one of the Longgunner's two full CRA's automissed on 1 die, which is the only way Fiona survived (with 3 health left, camping 1 focus). My best games always are won with gambles like this.

Second game was a chessboard play with Ashlynn and eSorscha where I learned that Shatterstorm against unshieldwalled High-Shields = dead High-Shields. I decimated my opponent's entire army anyway, and when the last few dregs of Kayazi advanced on Ashlynn, I forgot about Backstab and made a critical misstep with Admonition, with two Kayazi poking me in the back for stupid amounts of damage.I was trying out a Taryn/Bokur/Rutgar/Bokur/Talon/Buccaneer in this list, and I want to try it again with different jacks.

very close game with Magnus vs. Mortenbra. we wailed on each other all game, i played it ballsy and was charging fresh warjacks with magnus and killing them BARELY. end of the game he had Mortenabra hiding in a wood and a hurt harrower, i had Mags, a spent renegade, a fresh renegade, a hurt bucaneer and a single SH halbredier. during my tuen that single halbredier charged the harrower and rolled 5,6,6 for damage, knocking out the gun arm. the cryx player bottled after that.

Played two games tonight with Fiona and Magnus splitting time as my Warcasters de Jour. First game was Fiona against ESorcsha 35 pointer and Fight Club was the scenario. Both our armies engaged each other really fast and as soon as that happened, I popped my feat. Got the win, when my Mangler slammed my own forge guard into ESorcsha, knocking her down, so my other Mangler proceeded to beat the !@#@ out of her.
Game 2 was a 15 pointer between Vyros and Magnus, the scenario being Kill Box. I popped my feat and surrounded Vyros with my whole battlegroup. He had a hard time hitting me and when got back to my turn I beat him down with a loaded up Mangler.

All games were played on West Glam Island.
