    Default Advice on using men-o-war

    Hey guys,
New player to Khador here! I've got 4 games under my belt with 4 loses lol. Currently I'm running

    pButcher
    Wardog
    Devastator
    Decimator
    Juggernaut

    5x Man-o-war shocktroops
    Manhunter
    4x widow makers

    total: 35

I love the pButcher model hence why he is my main caster right now, and I love the idea of man-o-war models. The problem is I'm having a hell of a time using them. Currently I'm moving them forward issuing shield wall and trying to shoot whatevers in front of me, then activate the Butcher and cast Iron Flesh on them. It's been somewhat working but I'm finding they just don't seem to do to much. Am I missing something? I'm sticking with this list for awhile to try and figure out how the Butcher works and to get a feel for the Faction, any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

Shocktroopers are only good for one thing- being incredibly hard to kill. Use them to screen 'glass cannon' models such as doom reavers, great bears or the new bombardiers.

In your list, they have nothing to screen but butcher- and your jack wall could do that job for you anyway.

Swapping out a jack for some greylords and other (Great Bears?) goodies might help. Iron Flesh and Blizzard on the MoWST will bring them up to def 15 against shooting. Advance behind that until in feat range the. Let Butchers feat go to work on the magical GL shotguns and other nastiness.

I think Aries has the right of it, with 3 jacks, You need shocks to Screen Orsus, and Shocks themselves are very pricy. Consider swapping out the Shocks or one jack for something else.

If your determined to use the shocks(nothing wrong with that), I would consider Musketeer's idea, and go with some Greylords, as Shocks and Greylords combo well together.

I'd drop the decimator, personally. Boosted damage rolls on the bombard during feat turn is great, and to get the most of out decimator you have to give home 3 focus any turn you use him. Two boosted ranged rolls or buying more attacks with the chainsaw, no exception.

Don't feel like you have to be in shield wall every turn. Constantly re evaluate the table. Sometimes it's not needed and hampers you. If you run them into melee and deny the enemy the charge they may not be able to scratch ARM 17 w/o the charge bonus.

Also make effective use of their CMA, something people often forget about.

I like the Decimator. He can pew pew models with low DEF, that are knocked down or have their movement disabled. He doesn't always have to boost his attack rolls, contrary to popular opinion

Im thinking that the Kodiak and the Decimator might do very well together. Cast FT and run in, toss the jack of interest into the open on the ground and let the decimator shoot it up with boosted damage rolls. Just a thought as of right now.

In my personal opinion the MoW are the most Effective under Irusk with all his infantry love that he likes to pass around, or in victory conditions other than straight caster kill. hey they have mini bombards lets give them fire for effect while we hold this victory spot. other than that they seem to be usefull for transportation of you WG Deathstar or a squad of doom reavers, but you could get that with more models out of ifp.

Right now its a tier one butcher list my suggestion would be to drop the decimator and drop the shocktroopers from one full unit to 2 min units thats 6 troopers for 10 points because of the teir benefits. And now your are teir 2 increased movement for your shocktroopers

You then have 8 more points to drop in a kodiak or some more manhunters +yuri

My suggestion would be to drop the dog put in 2 more manhunters and yui and the widowmaker marksman.
