I don't see any pics...
Can you see them here? http://www.privateerpressforums.com/...hp?albumid=220

Looking good. What kind of trees did you use?
I can see them now.
Nice work. The buildings especially are going to look great.
Can't wait to see them painted.
So...is there anyone else going to Cold Wars? There is a decent chance that I will be there as it is only a short ride for me as I am just south of Philadelphia. I just need to confirm with the guy I am riding with.

there are some slots available for the events, let me know if you're a definite go.
On topic: I'll have some finished terrain pics up tonight. Stay tuned...

Sure guys. I move away from PA and then you start doing Cold Wars events. Nice. :P
Ah, well, it's looking really good so far. Have fun!
The forums seem to have one of two responses to new models. (A) "This model is worthless, I'll never use it." or (B) "That model is over powered, it's going to break the game." A few models get both responses, which ends up being really hilarious.
But what's wrong with saying "This model is circumstantially good and it's up to me as a good player to exploit its strengths and minimize its weaknesses"?
Nice brickwork, I look forward to seeing the painted pieces.
I have drawn a lot of inspiration from these pictures. Thank you very much!

Please note that the trees are a little bare. I want to add more, but this was by far the biggest pain in the arse. Standard glue just doesn't cut it...gonna try rubber cement after the con is over. If you have any experience with the woodland scenics brand trees, let me know.
Edit: Also a special thanks goes out to Jeco00 and Prince_Imrahil with helping with some of the mundane tasks. Beer and pizza is a great motivator. Now back to painting that Retribution battlebox...![]()

Those look fantastic.
Looks like I need to get crackin' for my LGS.
Awesome. Really loving the buildings the most. Well done!
Thanks folks. I still have some details that I want to work on. Maybe make some of the pieces scorched (via the fires of Protectorate) or seasonal (winter snow), but that will have to wait for some time.

I love the buildings! How thick of a piece of insulation did you use? Did you glue some together? Also how what tool did you use to carve in the bricks? Great stuff.

How tall are your buildings?
Everything looks amazing I am getting ready to get started on some terrain I guarantee they will not be as nice.
The buildings are roughly 4" wide, 5-6" long and no more than "6 tall at the roof apex (with exception of the tower).
After the convention, I will list some of the basic materials used. For paint, I matched (eye-balled) up some P3 colors at Home Depot and got them in sampler sized pots, which will go a long way. I'll list the paint codes so folks can just grab and go.

I used the woodland scenics trees for my board too. You can see my board and trees here.
I also agree that getting the foliage to stick is a pain. I started off using the recommended woodland scenics foliage glue. This is a contact cement type glue (i.e.you let dry before you apply the clump foam). It works okay.
Almost six months later most of the foliage is still clinging to the trees, but every time I transport them or set up for a new game there is more and more foliage left on the board and in the storage box. Because it was handy I started using superglue for repairs. Superglue seems to work well and has been my adhesive of choice since. The low bushes seen in my post above were made using superglue. These are holding up much better than the cemented trees.
If you try the rubber cement let us know how it goes.
Great terrain/buildings!
Six guns'll cripple ya but buckshot means buryin'
Damn sweet terrain there! I am also starting to look into terrain and table ideas - and the community is a great resource!
Wish I could make it to Cold Wars - who knows I might...but probably not.
I have been following this thread and I thought I'd mention that I have uploaded a four part video tutorial on how to make a similar structure.
(but Congrats to the original poster(PPS_Mod: MC) on great execution himself!)
You can visit my Youtube vids to see how to make them...
