Tasked with the researching of draconic lore, Lich Lord Venethrax is supremely well-suited to root out and destroy the Dragonfather’s dark progeny. Venethrax has dedicated his immortal existence to Toruk’s final war and is prepared to consume every blighted creature in charnel flames and blood. His mighty halberd, Wyrmbane, has dismembered countless draconic creations, and the lich lord’s very presence corrodes the world around him. That he now steps forth from Cryx is a dire portent, for it heralds the coming of war between the dragons.

He looks much meatier (in a sense) than any of the other Cryx 'casters. Very cool!

Those of you who own the Iron Kingdoms World Guide, have a look at p. 316. I think we may finally have found out who was pictured there!

The weapon is different, and there are minor differences in the smokestacks, breastplate, and shoulder pads, but I think this is probably the same Iron Lich.

He's badass enough I can forgive PP once again for not knowing their melee weapons. That be a cleaver or some sort of sword; halberds have, my definition, axe blades on a pole. Unless that's a really, really odd shaped axe.

Finally! I like the model, and he does look like he was an ogrun or trollkin or something, but I agree with everyone else, that's definitely a sword, not a halberd.

Personally, just lean him a little farther forward and change his sword arm position some, and he'd be perfect.

He is pretty wicked, will need to do a little repose, not totally liking the sky staring pose. It was cool for Gerlak, not working for Venethrax for me. I want him to look a little more menacing and a little less enraged.

I don't like the smokestacks on his back, it looks so weird. Reminds me of Mortenebra.

P.S. Hope he doesn't have a hate-on for Legion, especially beasts. Even eVlad does nothing to Helljacks...

Though, I bet that awesome paintjob makes the model look even better than it actually is! And that is not to say the sculpt is bad or anything

Considering he's "Master of Draconic Lore," I'd bet dollars to donuts that Toruk sent him out to the mainland specifically to see what was going on with this Everblight crap. I'm positive he's not oblivious to the fact that Pyromalfic just got gobbled up by someone, even if he's not 100% positive who or where the gobbler is.

Also, note the "prepared to consume every blighted creature in charnel flames and blood" in the description. Certainly sounds like he's gonna have a hate-on for Legion...

But I'm not sure about the base size. I mean, if it's medium, this guy is HUGE. And that's exactly what the price tag suggests...

Has everyone already speculated, based on his flavor text, that his feat will be to cause corrosion to everyone in control? I know the description has been around for a while now.

Oh yeah and he looks sweet. He did definitely steal Gerlak's pose though. But he probably had just stolen it from someone else.

I will sadly have to be the lone voice of dissension so far. While the general 'concept' isn't so bad, his pose is really rather disappointing, and his head looks like it's pretty well cemented to his body. Hopefully it can be modified without a huge amount of effort.

He also doesn't seem particularly mechanical, and I was hoping for something more along the lines of the 'iron lich' trope. This seems much more traditional, and strangely out of place with the rest of the Cryx army. (All the other skeletal undead have that sort of 'wispy' bottom half, like the other banes and iron liches. He's much, much more humanoid.)

Edit: His chest-plate also really isn't doing it for me for whatever reason. I tend to like the more ribcage-esque look, and this looks more like a solid piece.

First of yes he is indeed awesome, but why the hate man WHYYY. Really if he has a hate on for legion that will be kinda messed up since he will either be way OTT vs legion or underpowered vs other armies.

or he'll just have a spell that screws over one legion beasty at a time, but can't affect jacks or non-legion beasts. *shrug* as long as his whole thing isn't "I hate legion" it should be all right.

He's designed like a lich whose entire existence is devoted to finding and taking down Toruk's spawn. I like the heavy armour on him. He's probably going to either have one or two points more of armour above Asphyxious.

I really don't like the pose, but the model itself is awesome, with a head and right arm repose he'll be perfect. I'd say he's as awesome as Vindictus. (I hope he doesn't hate on Legion so much that he can't fight anyone else.)

I Rather like him. Is he one of the original 13 lich lords ?

The whole "War of the Dragons" thing - prehaps a lead in to the next major story ?(and hopefully that means there might be some more Draconic stuff other than Everblight.)

If he's designed to kill blighted models and Dragonspawn I wonder if he'll be able to take Cryx's blighted figures?
