What have you modeled/painted today?

its been suggested to me that I do a modded Thunderhead. I think it stead of the solja boi pose that privateer press uses i'm going to give him a pose that makes him look like hes conjuring a ball of lightening sort of like subzero from getting ready to throw a snow ball. Thoughts?

Just a suggestion for her base, but fire's color spectrum is based on heat. The hottest colors are near the center, the cooler parts are at the tip of the flames. Starting from white, moving to blue, then yellow, then orange. You could keep that yellow as the base for it, and just build the darker colors out from it.

Fire's hard to do, it requires a lot of blending to look good. An easier way to sort of get it done is to just paint the fire yellow, dry- brush orange over it, then hit the tips with a darker orange. It'll get the job done, it just won't look as good as blending.

Then again, it's a fantasy game, so do whatever you want :P

I did my hilight on the leathers on my borka, and did the green cloth base and hilight.

I really like how he's turning out, very muted. Very different from what I usually do,

just kinda happened haha.

I took advantage of the Bank Holiday to get my Seether painted, and to reorganise all of my stuff after I built a new storage/transport case. I've now got more space than I need (although Terminus is posing problems), but that just leaves room for expansion :-)

Rengrave's still sitting about 3/4 done on my painting table at the moment. Guess I should get him finished. If the weather maintains its brief sunny spell I might get some more stuff primed instead though.

Finished the remaining Heavy and Command Cruisers and now I'm done with the Fed commission for SF: ACTA. \

I'm thinking about changing up my Magnus lists (pMags), so I may do some stripping of some old Merc models and start over on them. We'll see.

For now, though, less than 2 hours 'til my weekend! (Gonna go see Avengers again on Saturday, too!)

What a great thread! I spent a couple hours painting a unit of Cinerators (5) today. Boy, I paint slow! I'm painting faster than I ever have before (I played Malifaux before, and spent hours and hours on each model), sacrificing quality so they can hit the table, and it's still a lot slower than I'd like. I've probably spent 10 hours or so on this unit. Oh well, here's hoping I'll get faster.

Looks ALOT better. Dunno about the red, I just usually stick to oranges over yellows (to keep it looking more like a natural wood- fire), but it looks good ^-^

Last night/Today I started work on Darragh Wrathe. I got him a loooooong time ago, and when I primer'ed him I was about as nooby as you can get with painting, so I did a terrible job of it. The quest to make a noob's primer job look good is afoot.

Other than that, still working on adapting my mechanithralls and Bile Thralls to my current color scheme (I painted them forever ago and they look kinda bad + not the color scheme I ended up going with)

Next up for trolls is Rok. Still need to give him some stoney growths on his right hand (I used the Bomber's hand from the plastic kit, it has none on it, compared to Rok's left hand that does.) But the keg complete with overflowing foam is ready. All I need to do is sculpts those growths and he's ready for primer.

Yeah, it's actually a lawn ornament. Found it helping my wife clear out her mother's basement, all I did was repaint the eyes because it was really wall-eyed originally. Now if I could just find a toy viking ship the right size...

I thought the rules were garbage at first and it hasn't exactly redeemed itself on the table, but I think the actual Animantarax model is fantastic (now that I've made it past the whole "ship on a turtle lolwhat?!?" phase) so I'm torn on dropping the $85.

Yes, that movie is a definite must buy upon release date. I'm planning on going to see it again this upcoming week, so hopefully it'll all pan out.

Tonight saw a long awaited return to painting Warmachine. I've created some new lists for my Magnus forces, so I've stripped and am repainting some old models. Up first was my Mangler/Mariner crossbreed. I didn't get as much done on it as I would've liked, tonight, but the scheme is solid. Overall Trollblood Highlight washed with Devlyn Mud and re-highlighted, then Exile Blue and Brass as secondary and tertiary colors. Magnus himself is Exile Blue armor with TBH cloak and brass accents.

Tomorrow will be finishing that up, Talon's going in the soak tonight and I'll prime and start my actual Mangler tomorrow.

I finished up the Mangler I started yesterday and managed to primer-to-finish on a Talon that was just stripped today. New color scheme for my Magnus 'jacks is looking pretty sweet. I forgot to dump the Nomad in the bath tonight, and I'm wanting to do a little custom work on him, buildwise, I just hope I can finish him up in time to bring to work tomorrow.

Tonight I did a bit of additional work and touch up on the ongoing skorne commission. Also did some blood splatter on 20 models, but I don't think I'll be doing that again. To random, to easy to make a mess, and mess up.

Also played some Star Fleet: ACtA, which was a lot of fun, actually.

Tomorrow (being Friday) will be my Renegade, last model of my new Magnus lists, 'til I get the new models.
