Default Need Help! Painting over a hardcoated model.

    Hey there,

So I recently finished painting my Khador Kodiak and I used a different scheme then the rest of my stuff because of the pathfinder ability. My normal colours are light/dark grey with red highlights and with the Kodiak I used light/dark grey and green. I finished the whole thing and hardcoated it.

I played in a mangled metal tourney this weekend (the whole reason I painted my Kodiak) and I found I really didnt like the one model different than the others. Especially the red and green together... arg Xmas.

Can I just paint over the green parts and then hardcoat the whole model again or will that just make way to many layers? Is there a way to clean just small parts of the hard coat off? Any advice/suggestions is welcome.

*On a side note Ill get pics of my force up ASAP as I want to see what people think*

I would actually strip the model. You can paint over the clear coat, but it adds more layers than you really want on a figure. If it is just a small number of areas, [like 2-3 armor panels, I would just paint over them and reseal those areas.

I really don't want to strip it I have way to much to paint to be doing the same model again I think all the green areas are flat armor plate so im thinking the extra layers won't matter

Yeah, I would just paint over them then and put some more hard coat on afterwards.

Should I respray the whole model with hardcoat or just spray some into a container on brush on the new parts?

I'd use a brush-on varnish first on the places you'd just painted, then a very light coat of aerosol over the whole thing afterward to met the same texture/finish.
