    Default Kayazy Assassins

First, are their faces as bad as they look?

Second, anyone know of a simple and cheap way to fix the faces (specially on the Leader & final grunt on the main page)? I was thinking bandanas (over nose/mouth), but the person (my brother) who works/paints/builds my models hasn't sculpted anything before.

The faces aren't all that bad to say the truth.

I personally think they are pretty bad, and I intend to perform full head-swaps on mine. But they can be made to be just slightly fugly with a decent paint job.

They are...a lot less detailed than I would like - from what I recall. It's been some time since I've seen them in person.

Faces are not great. The leader is a little tricky to convert, his head and right arm touch iirc. I did some headswaps on mine, and some hoods in GS on some of the others.

Making hoods is real easy, just reference to another model with one how they should look.

In my opinion they aren't so bad...and there are a lot of details you can paint to contrast the mini.

And the faces aren't so bad. You don't need to convert them, but if you want, you can change the heads with croe's chuttroats'.

By the way, here are my painted kayazy assassins:

So the heads can be replaced?
Hoods looks very cool. But sad Leader will be a hassle...

It's just hard for me to look at these things, especially the the Robert Zdar/Sloth from Goonies trooper and the dancing unit leader, and think someone was actually given approval and paid for them.

Personally, I like the way these guys look, even the faces. They have a certain far-Mongolian or maybe Prussian feel to them (not mongoloid!) that sets them apart from most other armor/clothes types in WM, and their faces match that sense of regionality. The sculpts could be better, but there are certainly worse ones out there. They're an ally unit, they aren't supposed to look Khadoran.

Kayazy Assassins (really should be called Kayazy's Assassins) ARE knadoran-born street thugs. Read FoW Khador
The Kayazy are the upper merchants/dealers, they employ these assassins. Kayazy sometimes give aid to their empire, both in coin and blade, hence the Assassins are allies.
All Assassins are sell swords by any other name, hence they can be mercs too.

But they should, I dunno... look like the art? Even a little bit? Those guys look nothing like the figures in the face. They look like mean street thugs.

D'oh! Show's how much I know about the fluff... How do these guys qualify as an ally unit if they're from the Motherland? I suppose because they aren't military. Still, nice to have the Mob working for you, rather than against.

While I don't think they look like thugs, indeed they ARE thugs. Read my previous post.

Kayazys are equal opportunity shankers. If your coin is good enough, they'll work for you. They may charge you more....

James is a spy (intel gathering) and an assassin. That changes things a bit. Plus, he indeed works for his nation, Kayazy assassins work for their employer.

Count me in among those who think the minis are actually quite ok.

The only thing I changed was the pose of the leader. I just repositioned the swordarm a bit so it looks like he is lunging.

Hasslefree (Kev White is the sculptor)has male heads for sale I swapped out the Lurch heads for the Kev White ones. if I had any talent for sculpting I'd try to make hoods or masks but alas my greenstuff skills barely amount to filling the jack gap on the metal jacks.

How about doing some head swaps using the Druids of Orboros heads? They look pretty dynamic and I think would make some great assassin heads. Check em out..

In fact.. this is what I think I'm going to do! =P

Buying bitz at the PP store is too expensive IMO.

The bits aren't expensive, it's paying three times the value of the bits in shipping and handling that killed it for me. I would've saved about 2 dollars over buying the entire 2 figures I wanted bits from.
