<Shrug> That kind of sums up why I don't like him. Playing Cygnar, Mercs, and most of Legion you do the same thing with a regular Defender.

Yeah... I keep facing stealth battle groups in MM. He gives me a good amount of potency at range that a defender won't against stealth. I would much rather nail a lock in the face with a boosted POW 15 than not be able to do anything till my opponent sets up his optimal alpha strike.

I did cast them. PP was not selling bits for any of the Battle Engines at the time so there really was not any other rational choice in my mind. I wanted 6 striders with 8 legs... and was not going to buy 12 just to get the legs.

For all those that I saw out at LNL. You guys are awesome. One of the best weekends I have had in a long while. I have to say next year anyone that can swing it. Make solid plans to attend. The PP staff were a lot more friendly and approachable than I expected. Nobody was behind ropes to keep the fanboys off .

As a side note it may have just been me and how awesome I am. However every PP staff member was either genuinely interested in helping people out or they are all top notch actors.

I'm starting a cygnar army cos of the striders, but I'm probably only going to have one. And a small swan army (Khador is my first love), but if I ever win the lottery i'll buy as many models as you, lol.

I love jacks. 2. I love big games. 3. Imagine the o crap moment your opponent will have when they realize they are facing a 150 point army with 15-18 models. 6 Striders, 6 Stormwall, 3 casters and depending on the casters add in some squires.

Can't speak for anyone else, but, while I don't want to play Unbound, I'd be up for a 100 point game against 4 of them.

I find that the complaint of unbound is how long it takes... drop the model count down to a respectable number then go for it.

Rynth... I fear what you would bring against me. Skorn can pretty easily one round the Stormwall. My problem will be getting around your heavy hitting prowess. Stacking feats would also be pretty scary at 100 points. The only thing I don't like about having these types of lists are people that build against it. Though I would not accuse you of that Rynth. PG_Ravyn and I discussed it at length at LNL about how people want to play against our respective spam lists just to play a list catered specifically to destroy them.

I kinda like the unbound format for several reasons.
1. Formation bonuses when playing that many stormwall or Spider Striders is just great.
2. I like that forces are basically required to spread out to control several zones.
3. No stacking feats keeps the game a little more in balance for both sides.

The biggest complaint I have heard against unbound is the time commitment. If you don't want to spend forever in a single game then play scenario and cut down on your model count. Looks like I can easily do unbound with 15 models now... activating 5 per turn. That is a time saving galore right there. I would be more than happy to go with 3 min turns in unbound.

Interesting to hear your comments on Unbound. I always imagine a core of infantry from a 35-50pt game maxed out into full sized units and adding more jacks and casters to it to make an unbound game. Pretty much as you describe, expanding using the smallest model count to make up a bigger force. After all Warmachine should be about the warmachines

You know, I'm would love to do this sort of thing for Khador over the course of a year or Two. Gun Carriage and Conquest spam under Vladimir1(SnP)/Vladimir3(Feat with Carriages), Harkevich (Escort, Broadsides, and Feat), and someone else (Zoktavir1 perhaps?). But I only own one of each 120mm model...getting 5 of each more is scaring me...maybe if I stuck gold on the lottery...
