Wonderful idea, I like it. It appears to be a great start.

Aw man, this is exactly the scheme I was going to do if I ever got Convergence (even down to the reference image lol).

Yours are shaping up quite nicely though!

Nice! How are you getting that burning hot metal look on the gears and such?

    WHAAAAT?

I'd considered this, but kinda left it to the wayside since there aren't really (in my original opinion) enough exposed gears to really pull it off. You didn't go with simply inner-radiating the core of the Vectors, you went with actually making the exposed gears red-hot. Now, that looks amazing.

Keep it up! I'll be watching this thread with interest!

I def like the brass look of them more. I might modify the orange color for the glowy parts, but otherwise, I do so believe I'm stealing this

could we get more angles of the chasis? as well as some other shots of WIP of the limbs?
Can we get a rundown of how you achieved this? What P3 metals, what steps you took?

Sorry for the inquiries, but it's a gorgeous scheme and it's very tempting to switch from my planned scheme to that.
Either way having the formula on hand would be wonderful.

*whistles* nice good sir, truly nice in fact.one of the ideas I too was kicking around. Though might have to go with plan "B". Not cause yours are not beautiful, but rather, because they are and I'm not sure I could do it as well.

The colors I'm not around them but I dry brushed blighted gold all over for base. Washed with armor wash. Dry brushed next gold color brass balls maybe then washed with mix of brown ink and armor wash and dry brushed final gold. The glow is just a yellow base of some gw color and a bastion red wash then I went back over the high spots with the yellow. Thanks for all the kind words! May the calculations be in our favor!

I may be incorrect, but the "hot metal" looks like a formula similar to the following.

    • Yellow Base
    • Bright Red Wash
    • Re-Highlight edges and "hot zones" with the Yellow Base
    • Further highlight edges and "hot zones'' with a slightly brighter yellow

At least that's how I would attempt it. It looks really good, and may ninja the hot metal idea for my own scheme, which was going to use a glow style red originally.

I will definitely be following this thread, looks like you've got yourself a start to a beautiful army.

    Cheers,

These are sweet. I wanted an orange glow from within my Cyriss models and this is a good example.
    Well done.

Mars that's pretty much it. The red is a wash and I just went back over the high points while it was a little wet. Wish I would of brought this with me.

Love the paint job, but that's a lot of effort for not having cleaned a single mold line.

Have to agree here in regards to cleaning up the mold lines unfortunately. The "arm" up/down mold lines look pretty tricky to remove due to them really not lining up too well around the bolts; might have to get fancy with some green stuff when I get mine no the official release.

I think Cyriss will look amazing with Vallejo Liquid Golds. I just have t ofind out if you can shoot them through an airbrush.

this is a REALLY sweet scheme! it hurts my eyes a bit that you didnt clean away the mold lines though. your army will look fantastic, but huge mold lines takes it down a notch for me. it is generally worth the extra 15 minutes to clean the models before painting them.

really looking forward to more updates

Mold lines on a test miscast model in the back of a table top quality model doesnt really bother me.
