That's our local club's collection of nicknames given to mercenary models:

Please god no. Enough with the nicknames. Hate them with a passion. They trivialise the game immensely - and considering that this, is a game about toy soldiers, that's saying something. Is it that hard to just. Type out the real name? Seriously, "Magnus" is just two strokes longer than "Mags".

I actually refer to Magnus as Asheth when he's on the table, and Bart as his full name of Bartolo Montador. The only nicknames I'm really faithful to are Gunbunny, Blastbunny, and Fiona the Brack.

I started calling my nomad "the highlander" after he totaled an undamaged gun-bunny in one hit (I know it's not that impressive but it was kind of cool non the less). Also, hammer bros is a common name for the forge gaurd at my lgs.

Any dwarf model is know by a couple of players in our group as the *ucking *uckers....

Apparently people don't like Forgeguard beating the heck out of people...... Or Drillers.... >.<

My nicknames for the dwarf jacks are.

Driller = erm... driller (or Drilley)
Gunner = Gunny
Blaster - Bunny
Rockram = Rubbish (i.e. this rubbish jack is going to charge ## jack)
I want the next Searforge jack to be called a "Buster"

And though it's totally not a merc thing, I had "Bane Lord Tartarus" become "BLT", which soon thereafter morphed into "Sandwich Man".

I totally agree. Although I have come to use the name on occasion, I hate the name "Gaspy" for Asphixious. He is supposed to be evil incarnate, not in need of an inhaler.
Magnus needs no nicknames, other than puppetmaster. I play mercs believing no matter who they are or what they are doing, they are advancing his will, whether they know it or not!
Magnus is easier to say though.
