The Xerxis Drake-brick 50pts

This is a goofball list for Skorne, but I thought of it while trying to figure out how to beat a 60 doomreaver eButcher tier list. Desperate times call for desperate measures. So it may be designed specifically to counter doomreaver spam, but I think it would actually be pretty nasty under other conditions as well.

So the idea here is that the Drakes move up in their brick'd formation, spray the living hell out of everything, using max fury to inflict the most dmg possible: so basically 10x boosted pow 14 sprays on whatever is within 14" of the brick. The krea moves into the center of the brick and paralytics. The gobber smoke is just big enough to cover the brick as well, so another +2 def there. The drakes are then the only visible targets and are def 17 arm 18 vs. most shooting. Xerxis follows them around, upkeeps defenders ward on self and inhospitable ground when needed. Paingivers clean the fury down to manageable levels and the karax run into BtB with paingivers and swamp gobbers to make everyone ignore blast damage.

In the event that heavy armor needs cracking that boosted pow 14 sprays can't handle, the feat is popped and the drakes are enraged. You'll go way over on fury that turn, but each drake is throwing out potentially 4x pow 14 weaponmaster swings that turn.

It's a very tight formation so it's vulnerable to flanking manuevers getting into the support pieces, and it would all fall apart the turn after the paingivers go down - but I think this list really has some chops. For being an outside case bizzarro list.

I think that it may also illustrate that the drake is perhaps a little too good at 4 pts and FA U. Pow 14 sprays are serious firepower, doubly so when you can boost it all you want and have a single 0.5 pt model clean all the fury off in one action.

I like it. If only the Drake was a better looking model, I might try it.

I wonder what other warlocks you could substitute for Xerxis?

depends on if you want the IHG or not. That spell is one of the primary reasons he works so well as a brick caster.

That said... a nice alternative could be Hexy. His feat combined with all the templets throwing around would be ideal. Death March on the Karax would be mandatory. His Soul Slave spell on a drake would be fine and Psychic Vampire is an excellent deterrent to enemy casters.
