The local merchants are growing restless. Their shipments are being intercepted and utterly annihilated. The shipments (and the bodies of all escorting them) have been taken, leaving all but the unusable wrecks of carriages and wagons in their wake. The party is hired to investigate the most recent of these attacks, to solve who or what is behind all of this.

    Plot points;
    -Who the attacker is
-What is happening to the loot and bodies
-If any supernatural events are in play (NPC adversaries are great)
-Economical turmoil in the local area; who is or isn't affected by this blow to business? Are merchants going to pay the party to smuggle their men onto a rival's ship as stowaways to get word out to their customers?
If I play Cephalyx, I'm still HALF a Cryx player, right?

If I ever get around to starting a campaign, I'm thinking about borrowing the concept from the TV show Hell on Wheels, and having the PC's 'base' be the moving shanty town (full of colorful, shifty characters) that proceeds a railroad line under construction; the PCs will be hired to deal with various threats to the line's progress.

This isn't an 'adventure seed' per se; rather, a concept that allows for spinning off into a wide variety of adventure types.

I've got a planned series of adventures that would take the characters from their positions as hired mercs to people of legend. (don't we all!)

By using the battle of the thornwood as a backdrop, I can pretty easily pull each character from their distinct army (say, like a Khador merc or national might be separated from his squad, the same as a Cygnaran merc). This gives us an initial RP interaction, followed by some outlying gator and Cryx interactions.

When starting on this, their first real encounter was against a pair of Stalkers and a new warcaster. It was a good time

Long-term, you could pretty easily work in events from the established fiction (the taking of Karchev, for example, or the race for the athanc) but I decided to angle it in such a way that shows the athanc as being the "red herring" - that Cryx was looking to tap into the raw power of Cyriss in a newly-discovered temple. If left to their own devices, they would theoretically be able to assert control over the entire Convergence... so while dragons are useful, putting Scaverous or Asphyxious in charge of the entirety of the CoC is terrifying.

My locals enjoyed the start, so we'll see!
Many of the models that I've worked on (even with some dirty, dirty Circle too)
note: some models (Typhon; minions) were gifts from the PP Secret Santa program

Want to retry this adventure again in a possible future endgame although this time I throwing in someone special.

"In a final desperate effort to retake Cygnar, Vinter Raelthorne IV has pledged his services to the Dark Gods of Chaos in return for devastating power. Now leading the Legions of Chaos, the Deposed King aims to retake Cygnar for himself once an for all. However the Chaos Gods are fickle masters and have other plans for Caen..."

A party of "good" characters (my group always try to play evil for some reason) get captured by a Khadoran scouting force. They are hooded/blindfolded and imprisoned. They wake up one day with the door unlocked, clubs/makeshift weapons in their hands, and have to fight their way to freedom. The twist: they have been tortured and turned into Doomreavers, the "guards" they are fighting through to their freedom are civilians/militia but the blades from Orgoth have skewed their perception of reality.

In honor of the Two Year Anniversary of this thread, here's a dump of some more Adventure Seeds:

    • Those wacky Cephalyx have gotten their hands on a Titan this time.
    • They thought several flocks of crows had gathered over the battlefield, until the inert jacks started stirring.
    • An Idrian village is on the edge of Skorne territory, but has never been bothered. Let's find out why.
    • Okay, who spiked the Trollkin Kriel's kegs with Blight?
    • A network of caverns was found under a Llaelese castle that seems to head towards the Rhulic mountains.
    • They thought they found a pirate cache, but it was bait.
    • Sorry, kid. There's no such thing as a Woolly Titan living up on the Steppes of Khador.

A former high magus of the Order of Wizardry died at high age under suspicious circumstances and his last will was anonymously sent to a number of groups. It comprises his last research project about the whereabouts of a set of powerful as well as dangerous Orgoth artifacts hidden in ancient Orgoth ruins on several secluded Scharde islands. The artifacts are said to grant their wielders unearthly powers at a high price. A naval chase enfolds between the groups (Greylords, Fraternal Order Wizards, Pirates, Adventurers, ...) to find and secure the artifacts before another group gets a head start and changes the fate of Western Immoren forever. And of course, whoever sent out the testament has his own agenda...

A young man hands informations to the Khadoran in Llael before disappearing. He pretends to be a former member of the Resistance who turned its back on it when they allowed the Northern Crusade to wrack all his family and tried to let him in the dark about it. It seems that those informations could prevent a massive attack by the Resistance and the Sul-Menite. The players :
-if Khadorans, have to dig out reliable knowledge about him as soon as possible, because he may just as well be playing the Khadorans for fools
-if Llaeleses, Cygnarans or Sul-Menites, have to silence the traitor/help him fool the Khadorans so they may score a resounding victory

    - Members of the CRS discover that Khador is developing a State-sponsored Gun Mage order program to their army, BUT the program had received lots of funds and the Khadoran Gun Mages are good and well trained and equiped (Metal Gear Style)...

    - Khador is developing a rail gun (just a VERY big cannon on rails) to be utilized as a weaopn of war against fortified cities. The heroes should not only destroy the project but also take the plans back to Cygnar

    - Llaelese Gun Mages are in desperate need of materials and ingredients to produce rune bullets, but Leryn are in Protectorate hands and they are reluctant to give this "profane" materials...

-Cephalyx have found a tunnel leading into 5 Fingers, and you must seal it before any more are taken. One problem: no ody knows about it and the city won't let you near the tunnel, ad it's part of the sewers.

In the swamps of Ord, there is a castle that has been set up by the Circle Orboros to act as a prison for something so horrible that even they wish it locked up forever.

    Laterna Magica Stories
    Prerequisites: Mechanikal Engineering
Outline: A member of an arcane order (likely a Greylord or Fraternal Wizard) wants to investigate a site for magical or cursed objects using a laterna magica.
Permutations: The adventurers are hired to take the laterna magica to the arcanist. On the way they get a better offer by a shady individual (who may insinuate that their employer is actually a suspected Infernalist, which may or may not be a lie) who wants the adventurers to sabotage the laterna so it does not actually reveal magic. In order to allay suspicion, they will also have to stay with the employer and make sure that no mechanik discovers the manipulation (possibly by switching a sabotaged runeplate for a functioning one or bribing the mechanik – in the end, the laterna will always have to be repaired before the employer returns to his order, where the laterna will be sure to get examined).
The adventurers are hired to take the laterna magica to the arcanist, but the device gets stolen by another party interested in using it to locate any significant artifact first. A few objects have also disappeared from the collection. Fortunately, it is possible to identify the likely thieves and pursue them. When the adventurers find them, it is possible they have succumbed to a cursed artifact in the meantime – but they may just as well have been unable to properly use the device and absconded with pretty but magically insignificant objects, which they just intended to fence. Of course, the fence might be less than amused about his missing merchandise...

Everywhere this new band plays, 'jacks begin to behave oddly. Is there a connection? If so, what does that mean for the Iron Kingdoms?

The game I am running places the PCs (a newly formed mercenary company) into a position where the stumble upon a massive Cyrissist plot to bring the Maiden of Gears to Caen. They frantically chase the Convergence around Western Immoren, attempting to disrupt the realignment of the ley lines. Unfortunately, the Convergence already has a head start, so there are only four sites left. The players have to locate the sites (using their resident priest of Cyriss!) to assault the position and save the world. Huzzah!

The PCs begin to suspect that they are in fact fictitious characters in something called "A Role-playing Game."
