w000t! All Legion all the time! Gonna enjoy this greatly.

I should've mentioned before but I forgot, I really enjoyed the Abby2 article. Some interesting list ideas, especially the four Ravagores!? Seems crazy enough that I want to try it. Though, I wished you had mentioned the Neraph with her some... perhaps at a later date when he's been released thought.

    Hitting the ground running guys!

The four ravagore list is brutal and very very fun. I even played a 5 ravagore list the other day 0,o that was an insane about of scathers.

But anyway, I hope you all enjoy the cast!

Nice write up as usual Omnus! Have to give those lists a try sometime!
Question for you, do you feel that the raptors need to be ran as a full unit in these lists? Or would a min unit + raek work just as well? I mainly ask since the raek's animus on eAby is nice for getting the flying charges right where you want them.

You can definitely go that route. Raeks are great... Especially with Absylonia2. But i wouldnt do it for the animus. If there are closer targets... Just kill those

Raeks are good backup fortify targets if you can't seem to kill eiyrss2. It means she has to be further up to be Table to strip the spell. Even then, I had a 16/17 Raek with fortify and tenacity durdle around the table for an eternity just being annoying.

I've also enjoyed the random late-game 15/19 Seraph(/Neraph). That is a far more annoying beast to kill than it ever should be.

Correction for the Abby2 article: Return Fire doesn't specify the target of the free attack. As I read it, there are no targeting restrictions.

Is there a link for the feed for the podcast for those of us with podcast apps? I'd like to be able to subscribe to this podcast specifically.

Also, great article on Abby2. Gave me some build ideas to think about. I hadn't thought of the cav with her, but it's an interesting idea I'll have to try.

Just finished listening to the first episode of the podcast. It was really well done and super informative! Through some kind of crazy luck I picked up Thagrosh and Abby2 on the weekend so I'm looking forward to learning Legion properly with those two to begin with. Looking forward to the next episode as well as the articles!

I have a suggestion for BMR: instead of releasing an article and podcast every two weeks, can you do it daily instead?

the Legion community sincerely feels that you should immediately drop all other projects, lives, and jobs in order to better fulfill our need for Legion specific material.

    that's not unreasonable, is it?

Omnus, any chance we'll be getting a Zuriel article after the Abby2 one is finished? I know you guys have Podcast #2 planned out already was well but would looooove to see Legion's new toys discussed in episode 3 if at all possible.

Im not trying to sabotage your thread but what kind of a list would u suggest with pvayl against menoth. My most common opponent plays menoth. Ive heard pvayl is more of a hordes drop so i have been using evayl against him. Wouldnt mind giving pvayl a go unless im better off sticking with evayl against that matchup.

I have a very wide selection of legion.

  36. #36

I find pVayl is very playable against Menoth because none of her tricks are negated by them. For instance, Menoth has great spell denial but her most important spells are cast on friendly models.

I would recommend a Scythean, Ravagore, Naga, Shredder and Swamp Gobbers to start. I would also highly recommend Typhon if he's not in another list. The Naga's animus allows the Ravagore to shoot jacks and lets everyone ignore Defenders Ward. The Ravagore and Scythean are just pure money under Incite and that goes double for Typhon. The Swamp Gobbers are there to save you from ranged
assassinations, namely pKreoss pop'n'drop (it's not fool-proof but it's quite good since Rhoven can only let one model see through the cloud).

Other than that, just fill in with your preferred models. I run two Scytheans for the RFP, anti-Tough and so I can trade one early and still have beatstick with Reach later. I also use an Angelius so I can put Chiller on her and she can kill up to 5 dudes with Overtake.

Overall, I would agree that eVayl is a better Menoth drop than pVayl but both can do well in that match-up.

Preparing for tournaments is normally a simple formula. Find out which factions will be most commonly played in your meta, determine which casters have the best matchups against the most likely opponents you will face. Accomidate compromises by which casters/models you have access to... unless you play legion. Then just take Saeryn and eVayl. I'm kidding. A good scenario list with some attrition or assasin threat and an assassination list make a good pair. Saeryn/pThags and eLyl/eThags/pVayl/eAbby are what come to mind for me.
