All gamers must die.
Check out my blog Sarcophagi
@ CT Gamer - reminds me of the dance numbers in Burton's Charlie & the Chocolate Factory
@ Yeti's Yell - I love the skin tone and really the attention to the the backdrop for the picture of Narn. Great stuff.
I posted this model in its own thread for C&C but I figured it would be appropriate to put here to show the scheme.
I am a leaf on the wind,
See how I soar.
Not up to my usuall standered of photography but
40 thin layers of white drybrused over white primer and a thin black wash every 10 layers. Never doing that again but I not posting the current scheme and can't decide how to finish Kaylissa.
Just thought I'd let you know, because I can only imagine the amount of time 44 coats of paint would take. While people always say thin your paints (and in many cases please do thin your paints), over-thinning your paints is generally a bad idea unless you are using techniques like glazing. In fact, in some circumstances people even use undiluted paints, e.g. on very small areas.
Just a thought, if you want easy good whites, assuming you want a solid white color, you could go with:
1) Undercoat in white.
2) Paint over with Morrow White. This mainly "brightens" the white and makes sure that the whole model is properly white as often the undercoat doesn't cover the whole model properly.
3) Simple shading with a light grey on areas you figure there would be shadows. E.g. Fortress Grey or Cryx Bane Highlight.
If you want to make it a little more complex, you could do some quick wetblending between the grey and the white, but its probably not necessary for a basic paintjob.
4) Blackline the joints etc. Blacklining doesn't NEED to literally be black, you could use a darker grey too. Black lines would give the model a very anime feel to it though, which given the designs of the Retribution, might be a good idea.
All in all its very very few coats; for the most part the whites, greys etc you can do it all in one single coat so its more or less three steps of painting and one step of spraying.
There is some really gorgeous stuff up in here. Banging job, Moz.
My current method uses 2 coats of white (the primer). but it took 40 drybrushed coats as my *I swear to much* paint kept filling the fine detail.
Rahn had been striped and cleaned twice (in 1 week) before I painted it that colour !
Here's my WIP Kaylissa modelling her simple pearlescent white armour
I don't think its visible, but ..... Still can't get the hang of Photographing matallic painted models in macro.
@PG_Devilsquid - Loving the green painting.

Just a couple pics so far:
"I don't belive one word of this "glass cannon" nonsense.
Plus I've always thought they were OP and had more cheese then wisconsin"
AngryElf, Edit, RATS!, Mr.Booger, Wikkit - too many forums and a boring job
No no no, it's all wrong. You need Hello Kitty heads for the jacks
Loving all the different takes on the Ret forces. I have decided to run with a traditional theme, as I really like the arcane energy look to it. Here's is my first and only painted model, just finished tonight.
"happiness is a temporary chemical imbalance of the true state of mind"
Some very nice stuff here. Unfortunately my only finished Retribution model to date is Vyros,
but I do have some large base objective markers that I made for steamroller tournaments
Nice objective markers, going to steal this Idea...
Gee to the Max
Dais, how did you get that glow effect? That's exactly what I'm trying to do on mine in green and failing at miserably.
Dais, could we have a shot of the black-and-glowing myrmidon from farther away?
-Hey, it's all about the King Haralds.
thanks for the interest everyone. let me just quote myself from my original thread.
you can see the gorgon didnt come out quite the same but thats the point of a test model.
Did you do your entire army like this or just the Phoenix/Warjacks? Can we see more? I'm gonna have to grab the mentioned paints next time I'm at my LGS
Don`t know why i cannot upload attachments.
So you have to click on my profile to see the pics.
But be warned: Me and a camera is the same as me and dice... they never ever do what i want
Here are some pictures of my retribution! Still working on the camera work but I think these turned out ok.
I really dislike the "some of us wear helmets and some of us don't" so I did head swaps. Just have to figure out the basing and how to keep the invictor standard from breaking off.
Very nice Eldribution! They actually look like they came in the same packaging.
Fantasy 8th edition is the best thing to happen to Privateer Press.
Very cool glow effect - looks like a cross between the Eldar Avatar and Knightrider.
Everblight 12 (re-painted) 70 (painted - to be re-painted)
Searforge 4, Merc 30, Minion 4
Some gorgeous stuff here. Figure I might as well post some of mine which are studio scheme now, but will be adding a bit more green when I do the next batch.
More in my sig. Definitely thinking of getting another Kaelyssa and trying to follow Moz.
