    @Jack Tesla...

I think that I have most of the gist of My Thamarite / Mecha-Engineer Character (tentatively named "Herr Doktor Krantz Todmeister, Hippocratical Reanimator"...!!) and I have only to fill in some minor details...

As for starting gear I will be stricken hard by the obvious needs to acquire a "Necromancer's Kit" for the whopping needed 50 G.C. prices so I will try to cut costs whenever possible and I need some rulings about Gear and Equipement...

1°) Being a sort of "Grim Reaper Pale Rider" I found that thematically as a wapon of choice a Horseman's Axe (shaped a little like a short-handed Scythe, with a larger Blade) would fit nicely thematically and being useful in many combat situations; should I assume that being "Imbue Weapon" a starting Advocate Ability then this weapon will be the chosen sacrificial item of My character an so being a Blessed+Magical Item...??

2°) Technically the character is an "IRON-Head" but a Necromancer Thrall-Crafter is surely able to work well with all sort of Bones, Chitin, Hides, Leathers and Treated Skin; could be possible to substitute some purely Metal Parts of My Armour (and later the "Chassis Frame" of the Mounts and the eventual "Hellhounds") with some Skulls, Bones and Cured Leathers, further enhanced by Telgesh Glyphs...??

3°) What could be the Stats and Possible Cost of my "Undead Stallion"; I think about a "Warrior Thrall" comparison for starter (not so advanced as a Independent Lieutenant, but able to follow Combat Orders) but modified according to large horses; I have to acquire a proper destrier with prices in G.C. like a living one, or could have a "Meatmarket Discount" for what amount as a "Cart of Dead Horseflesh"...??

As soon as these doubt are cleared, I will be able to submit immediatly a completed Character Sheet ready for approval.....

Three Iosans now, and no one particularly tanky either. Okay, maybe I'll do a Bounty Hunter/Man-at-Arms then. Or Soldier instead of Bounty Hunter as I'm not sure about matching it with Man-at-Arms.

I made a mistake on the previous submission of this character. I resubmit it now with that error corrected. If anyone finds something I missed please don't be afraid to speak up.

    Basic Information
    Name: Jack Storm
    Gender: Male
    Race/Nationality: Human/Khadoran
    Religion: N/A
    Archetype: Gifted
    Careers: Greylord/Ice Sorcerer
    XP: 21

    Physical Description:
Jack is an unassuming youth who gives no sign of how powerful his gift is. When compared to other Khadorans Jack is considered short, and lanky. Standing at a simple 5'4, and possible weighing in at 100 pounds wet Jack doesn't at all come across as who, or what he is.

    Personality and Backstory:
When he was born Jacks power manifested right away, and unfortunately he killed his mother from inside out. Jack's father a simple farmer didn't adapt well to being a single father, who's son killed his wife. Jacks father started to drink heavily, and as Jack grew older he started to do more, and more of the chores. His father drank more which fueled dark rages that left bruises along the boys body.
Word of how the boys mother died quickly spread throughout the village. Everyone assuming he was a bad omen, and the by product of a deal with evil spirits left him to his fate.
Jacks salvation came one day in the form of a travel who heard the story of the boys birth. Jack 6 years old at this point still with no idea how to control the great power inside himself jumped at a chance to leave home. The stranger identified himself as a Greylord, and took the boy to Korsk presenting him to the
    Covenant.
The Covenant saw the potential for the power in the boy, and enrolled him into classes immediately. What the boy wasn't told, but was able to pick up from the side long glances was they were afraid of him. He was stronger then they expected from someone his age. With this in mind Jack threw himself into his studies unwilling to return to the nothingness that was his life.
Upon graduating top of his class at the age of 20 Jack was released onto the world as a travelling Greylord told to learn the things that couldn't be taught in a classroom.

This afternoon I'll have posted the Mecha-Thamarite Knight with all the proper adjustement to the character sheet...

Also if I'll have the spare time I wonder to perhaps put ALSO the "Black Drakhuun" (Skilled Man-O-War / Horseman, temptative name Myrcea Raduslav and his trusty Karpathan Mount, the dark stallion Tchernobog) that will be perhaps less problematic to have in the Group rather than 3 potential Iosans...!!

Third possibility, inspired by the fact that @Jack Tesla said "NO Warcaster" will be to make a "Fake One", an Alchemist / Field Mechanik that use Jack Drives instead of Mind-Bonds and Alchemical Bombs instead of Spells; I'm wondering if it will be better an Intellectual Gobber "Pseudo-Warcaster" more specialized in repair and non-combat utilities, or a Mighty Ogrun from the Rhulic Armed Forces, lobbying monstruous "Mega-Grenades" behind a Blast Shield and far more suited to Heavy-Duty Mercenary "Black Ops" (and maybe a Rhulic Steamjack, if I manage to found the Stats rummaging in the No_quarter that I can ask to friends)...

    For now, as usual, Work-In-Progress.....!!!

If we run into the problem of little to no tanky characters, I've got a trollkin MaA on the back burner that I could submit instead of my dwarven wilderness guide.

You think that's bad? Try using a word that contains the alternate word for a rooster (or a slang word for male genitalia).

OK, I like the variety of characters, there should be plenty so that I can set up a group on Sunday and start the campaign Monday.

One thing, if you want an item like a skeletal horse, that is fine, but it should have the stats and cost of a regular horse. Also if people see you riding a skeletal horse there is a high probability of you being labeled a necromancer, which is generally looked down upon... With bullets.

    @Jack Tesla...

Thanks for the clarifications about the horse; I'll try to kitbash together something about the Stats of the "Karpathan Destrier" found in the Khadoran Wargear Section of K.N.G. and cross them with the Thrall Creation Rules (in fact the Telgesh Glyphs Bonus that add to PHY, STR and Speed would be quite handy)...

About the future "Hellhounds" I plan to have stats similar to Duskwolves or Enhanced Attack Wardogs rahter than Argus Light Warbeasts, but I suppose I will be limited by the issue of supplies and costs...

The Horse would be more a "Zombie Stallion" rather than a "Skeletal Equine" but the plan was to cover it in Dark Leather Full-Barding (much like a form-fitting, total "Horsesuit" like the one used by Khadoran and Cygnaran Warhorses); if the prices are too steep I plan on ditch for now the costly "Necromancer's Kit" to have 50 Gold Coins to spend in immediatly useful Tactical Adventuring Gear...

In fact I could roleplay the fact that his Necromantical Supplies are totally depleted in the creation of the Horse (named tentatively "Schwartz Koenig", or "Black King" translated in English, much like the monstruous mount of Emperor Raoh from "Fist Of The North Star" Anime / Manga !!) that put Herr Doktor Krantz Todmeister to pick up a Caravn Escort job...

I plan to have him as a "Openly Thamarite" with his menacing Ironhead Powersuit decorated with ANIMAL Skulls and plain Ternion Brands (the tri-furcated symbol of the Dark Twin herself) reasoning that if Alexia Ciannor and Lord Mylo of Forthryne "The Ragman" are successful Mercs tha employ Necromancy and especially the Pirate Warcaster Fiona the Black (flaunting her Divine Allegiance open to any and all) could go for it then also he could go...

If instead You think that a more subtler approach is more good for the Game, then I could as well merge the "Visual Input" thought for the second choice of the Character Ideas that I had; he could go around with a blackened Man-O-War Drakhuun Armour, clearly battered, rebuilt, half-salvaged and modified from other Steampowered Parts (but with all the Khadoran Anvil Symbols carefully removed) and maybe some cleverly hidden Telgesh Glyphs disguised subtly amongst the scorch-marks and metal dents...

Similarly the Mount could be as well apparently a Karpathan Destrier clad from snout to tail in darkned barding, but one rather silent, cold and unusually docile...

Essentially this Character would be a Non-Cryxian, Non-Undead "Burgeoning Necrotech / Necrosurgeon" so perhaps he will try to be subtle at first (so, for the moment, I forestall the installation of a Necrotite Combustion Engine on the Ironhead Steam Boiler... !!)...

Obviously the Magical Thamarite Imbued Horseman's Axe would be a giveaway to anyone with sufficiently inquisitive Arcane Skills, as it's decorated with Telgesh Glyphs and will probably shimmer with the "Purple Light of the Dark Twin" ; also I planned to take the "Blackfire" Spell from the Advocate list, and, while effectively powerful and useful, it's a typical magical trick of the Advocates...

It will be interesting to see the roleplaying possibilities with all the Iosan Partymembers...

Preparing to undrwent soon all the necessary modification to the rough sketched sheet, and I'll put the finished product soon.....!!!

So I really don't want to give too many spoilers. (Hell you are going into a town on a caravan, you don't know what is going on.) but I will give a slight one. For any potential tharmites out there "Subtle" is the word of the day.

And subtle it will be; "Former Drakhuun in Blackened Man-O-War Suit" with "Silent, Battered Karpathan Destrier" incoming; along with a choice of Spells less flashy and more utilitarian...

I do really hope that resembling to have looted a Battlefield with Khadoran-Styled Salvage would not backfire horribly too...

Perhaps finding some Farrow Cyber-Surgeon and / or Gatorman Bokor + Bonegrinder with which comparing notes could be useful indeed.....!!!

  19. #59

I don't know if a man-o-war sitting on a giant horse counts as subtle. That's like driving a tank and calling it stealthy because you put a muffler on it to quiet the engine noise.

    @Darwinsfolly...

Surely far less conspicuous than a crossbreed between the two Main Characters of the "Darksiders" Videogame Franchise (War and Death, Horsemen of the Apocalypse) with Ternion Brands and Telgesh Glyphs painted / engraved all around his armour to loudly proclaim his allegiances to the Dark Twin...

The key word was that @Jack Tesla said a "Subtle THAMARITE" that will not actively draw the bullet-aim of all the Menites, Morrowans and assorted Inquisitors all around; unless I misunderstood badly the requirements of the Gamesmaster then a badly patched Man-O-War suit, bodged together from various Battlefield Scraps and painted jet-black, and a sinister, but silent and coldly calm "Giant Warhorse" would draw far less undesired attentions.....!!

Oh, I fully understand. I just thought it was funny that you could use Man o War Drakhuun and subtle in the same sentence.

I've fleshed out my character now, details below.

How much starting XP was it again?

Defining characteristics- Shoulder length jet black hair, van **** beard and stubble, one eye seems to be constantly squinting. This was caused by an old injury.

Physical description- stern gaze, tall with a powerful musculature and straight backed. His looks that come across as deadly serious are in truth contrary to his fun loving personality.

Personality- Laconfir is good humoured, witty and always smiling, happy at times to simply laugh and drink with colleagues. In battle though he is deadly serious, taking every care to land his blows and keep his comrades out of harm’s way. Although even then he still finds moments to crack the odd joke or taunt his opponent!

Background- Laconfir served in the Houseguard for most of his adult life. His unit had managed to stay out of Retribution business for many years and he liked this. He had always seen that organisation as a lot of over excited finger pointers clinging to an unfortunate coincidence. To be honest, Laconfir always thought that the seekers had the better idea and considered it to be a shame they didn’t have the support that the Retribution did.
When Vyros bought back Nyssor, support for the Retribution grew immensely and may units of Houseguard that had formerly stayed out of their activities were called to battle or joined willingly. Laconfir’s regiment was one of these, and in disgust he left the Iosan military, seeing it as nothing more than another tool to be used by Incissar Vyros or Adeptis Rahn for whatever goals they had.
Taking his weapons and armour, Laconfir left Ios and began life as a mercenary in the human Kingdoms. He’s currently doing odd jobs in Llael, last being seen hired to protect a wagon.

    Basic Information
    Name: Aria The Hunter
    Gender: female
    Race/Nationality: Iosan
    Religion: Fane of Scyrah
    Archetype: Gifted
    Careers: Mage Hunter/ Storm Sorcerer
    XP: 20

    Physical Description:
Aria stands at 5'6 a lanky, but athletic girl with eyes as black as night marking her as a soulless.

    Personality and Backstory:
Aria being marked as soulless at birth was left to die in the woods. Luckily the Gods had other plans for the baby. A Mage Hunter was the Gods instrument here, and was passing by. Feeling magic come from the child they scooped her up, and took her to the Syvash Stronghold to be trained. The senior Mage Hunter who found her begged their seniors to take the child on, and teach her despite being Soulless.
With reservations they agreed, and started to test the child from the moment she could walk. Her instructors pushed her harder then any of their other students not once did she complain. Instead one day in a training session something inside snapped, and her partner at the time was flung away. Her instructors recognized her magic admittedly, but she displayed no runes, and though they had seen her do magic they couldn't sense it in her. They enrolled her in more complex classes immediately, and pushed the girl even harder.
At 20 she was deemed ready, and once given the title Mage Hunter she was handed over to a handler in the Retribution. 2 years has passed since then, and not once has she failed in a mission.

    Howdy Peeps,

I know I'm new to the Forum, but after playing IKPRG with a few buddies I found this Subforum. I have a Character in mind who may fit in the Campaign.

Turin van Helm is the Guide of the Caravan. He's clad in regular dark blue clothes with heavy leather boots as well as gloves. He's a huge Fellow, 74" in height but under the Explorers Clothes he doesn't seems to be trained as a robot. During the Journey he doesn't seem to wear any Armor. He has a Backpack with a Bedroll on Top as well as a Water Skin at the Side and he often fiddles with his Compass, Map and Spyglass. Otherwise he seems fairly competent in his Job because the Caravan is traveling without any delay.
Sometimes one can catch a glimpse on the small Menofix around his Neck and how his Eyes turn fiery when he clenches the little Icon. and he speaks about the Creator.
He has long brown hair tied to a Horsetail. A slight weathered tan and what looks like a two-week-beard. Green Eyes which seem to notice every little Detail.

He played the role of Turin the Explorer by heart. He used the early mornings and late evenings to pray and meditate. Just like he used to practice within the Halls of the “Righteous Fist”. The Tattoo is well hidden under his Hair. The res fist surrounded by a black star. He focused himself on tasks to come. Both, his Master and his Supervisor at the Ordos Maleficus counted on him. He didn't knew where this journey would end but he knew he was more than capable to anything.

Marius is a Spy / Allegiant who has a Cover Identity as Explorer to be outside of the Protectorate as well as being part of the caravan.
I can flesh him out more if you want to let him join.
    ---

I know that I never wrote anything on this Forum and nonetheless I'm so bold to write when I discovered the PbP Forum and this open Game. (I found this Forum after my Pen and Paper Group started an IKPRG Game a few months ago.)

If you think this is a Char could fit in the Campaign I'd be really happy to join this community … If I don't make it into the group I'm eager to read your Adventures from "outside".

    Cheers and a nice Sunday.

    Name: Voltaire
    Gender: Male
    Race/Nationality: Human (Cygnar)
    Religion: Moarrow
    Archetype: Intellectual
    Careers: Stormsmith/Duelist
    XP: 19

    Physical Description:
Voltaire has an acrobat's body. He is on the short side. He is lean but athletic.

    Personality and Backstory:
Voltaire has always enjoyed a challenge. He has mastered the Lightning Rod as Mechanika and a weapon. Although he keeps a sword around just in case. He sees a balance of mind and body is important. He prefers to spend his time bettering himself in some way. Although nothing is better then the messiness of real life. He left the world of academia because of two many ivory tower intellectuals. Two many of his colleges just wanted spend all of there time in their labs. Even his fellow duelists were more interested in the gym or well regulated ritualized combat. While he saw some time on the battle field he was often chewed out when he engaged the enemy in direct combat. He eventually grew sick of it all and went AWOL. He has taken up the life an adventurer as the ultimate test and crucible.

    Armour- Infantry armour

Gear- Holster, ammo bandolier, bedroll, flint striker, lantern, compass, deck of cards

    Gold- 9

When Vyros bought back Nyssor, support for the Retribution grew immensely and many units of Houseguard that had formerly stayed out of their activities were called to battle or joined willingly.

    2- Command 2, Medicine 2
    4- Cleave

Ok, Final selections are in. The starting team is:

    Voltaire (Nohwear), the stormsmith.

    Alain (Velkyros), The Blazer.

    Artys (Lanz), The Seeker.

    Aria (shadowsoflegion), the Hunter.

    Laconfir Vrir (Astraeos), the Houseguard.

Aaron Tekawitha (Zelot # 87), the priest.

If you are listed, please take a look at the D&L OOC thread. If you did not get selected then sorry about that, maybe next time. I tried to pick characters that fit into the story the best.

Very well, I hope that the selection You choose will bring an entertaining and amusing game...

I have no problem about not being selected; it was all useful brainstorming for some Graphic Project about "Fallen Llael" and the Dark Alliance between Doctor Arkadius and Bethayne of Everblight that I was nonetheless elaborating upon...

I will put anyway the Character Sheet posted here in another post of the thread, to have a useful "Quick Reference" in the eventual hypothesis that a second Game will happen or that some extra Character Spots will open; in the meantime I hope truly that will be much I.K.R.P.G. Fun for @Jack Tesla, @shadowsoflegion, @Nowhear, @Velkyros, @Lanz, @Astraeos and @Zealot#87.....!!!
