Any others?
Any others?
I know down in Gulfport area there was a game store near the Air Force Base, JAKS. They had some guys that played there.

I will admit to some nasty enjoyment of insecure people freaking out because I have impugned the manliness of their hobby, but that's a minor side benefit.---Dave
I live in Picayune, Mississippi. Got a few buddies that I play with here.
I have made a MS guild, plz join.
We have about 4 players up here in Jackson.
ooooo Sorry man. Jackson is like a three or four hour drive...
we've got 4 up here so far
Yea. We got about four down here in Southern Mississippi. Three Warmachine( Two Khador and One Protectorate) and one Hordes Player. He plays Legion.
I have a forum for local guys:
http://gulfsouthgamers.com/
There's a store called Gamerz Depot in Olive Branch, if anyone reads this looking for North Mississippi. There are a few people that play there, and I am hopefully going to start soon.
Im hoping to run a tourny at gamecon memphis
I'm resurrecting this since I was deployed when it posted. Has there been any further growth? I live in Long Beach and play at a couple good LGSs with some great players in New Orleans. I'm always looking for more opportunities as I love the hobby and can't always make it over there...
There is now an independent game club in Starkville, MS. I helped try and get them organized early on, but they have taken off like I wouldn't have imagined. I think they have about 15-20 WM/H players and they play several times a week at a building they have rented out. We're even working on getting them a Press Ganger for running large events (they've got plenty of space).
See below for details.

I belong to the Starkville, MS group. We just got our email up and running, it is StarkvilleHobbyClub@gmail.com. We also have a website and forums under construction. I'm not the web guy so I'm not sure how long it will be on those. We will have pics of the facility and more formalized hours posted on the site when it gets up and running.
Currently we play on Wed&Fri nights and Sat from noonish-until. We just got the new clubhouse up and running, had our first games there this past Wednesday night. We still have some work to do on the club's physical site and some paperwork to finish up for liability purposes, but we should be fully functional and ready within the next few weeks.
We have renovated half of our current rental property and have 28 feet of gaming table space suitable for miniature war gaming. We're waiting to see what other games members might enjoy and recoup some of our renovation money before we renovate the other half. People may want RPG or card game space, or more wargaming. We'll renovate to suit the demand.
We want to be able to host tournaments on a regular basis and get involved in league play as well. Again, more on this once we get some logistics worked out and we'll post info on our up-and-coming webpage.
Currently it's looking like to be a member, it's $20/month or $5/day depending on how regularly one can make it. We'll let people come once or twice to try it out for free, just like any other crack dealer. The money is used to pay the buildings rent and electric bill. If we ever start having a surplus of cash (we're a long way from that currently) we will either decrease dues or give away prizes, provide food/drinks, etc.
We used to play at my house, where I have a game room. Then we filled that up and people had to play outside on a table. That sucks in MS heat. There was no place for us to go in Starkville that could hold us all, and we would have had to transport tables, terrain, etc every time we went somewhere like the student union or rent out a conference room every weekend. Getting our own clubhouse seemed the most efficient option, and so far we all all very pleased with out new clubhouse. Hopefully we'll see you Jackson and Hattiesburg and Tupelo people at some point. My trollbloods are always lookin for new face to stomp.
I'll guesstimate our current membership level at 12ish people per saturday showing up, but there's 6 or 7 that went home for the summer (its a college town). Also we had 4 new faces show up for the first time this past Wednesday. Not sure how many of those will return regularly, but our player base is growing steadily.

For those with other gaming interests we also play things ranging from "That Other Game" to Flames of War to Dystopian Wars and beyond. Feel free to drop by and roll dice. There is usually always someone around who is up for a game or two.

Hurry up and finish our website trumpet :P
And yeah. The new place is nice. Just bring your own chair or stool for the time being :P
Starkville? Really? I moved from Columbus a couple months ago and the closest gaming group I could find while living there was over in Tuscaloosa. Damn it would have been nice to have known about this sooner.

I did.
I think of Starkville as N/NE
I'm actually from Brandon, Mississippi originally, but moved to Texas when I got married a couple years ago. There was about zero gaming community when I left. Although, I was able to get my mom and sister into gaming.
Ah, gotcha. I consider Tupelo NE. Starkville is to far south for me to not consider it central. Just a matter of perspective. On another note, feel free to drive up one Saturday. I'm sure we can put together a game of whatever sysyem you would like to play. I know a few have expressed a desire to get a game of 40K or Fantasy in sometime soon.
whazzup shakespear, i was on the gulfsouth forums for a while. we'd love to have you guys come up for a weekend or something, really picking up steam here in starkvegas. anyhoo, i'll stop back by and keep updated soon, the place is looking pretty ballin and always up for having more folks game.
Meridian, ms noob here. I have a few smallish armies to offer.
Not a whole lot ...well no game going on here so I'm still inexperienced.
Hordes: Skorne
Warmachine: Khador
Other games:
Skaven
Beastmen
Space Marines
Chaos Space Marines
Terran alliance - Firestorm armada
We are playing some firestorm locally
Central Mississippi didnt die just went underground I play 40k and khador
@ Awsker1976
Meridian is not that far man, plan to come up to Starkville sometime.
I'd rather lose a fun battle than win a boring one because... "The objective of the game is to win. The point of the game is to have fun. The two should never be confused." - Not Dice
Wow. I'm a lot closer to Warmachine than I thought. I'm in northern MS, near Holly Springs, actually. Awesome that there's a store that I don't have to drive 2 and a half hours to play at!
I somehow run across you guys again. =P At least we're getting word out, especially for fall.

Duct tape is like the force...... It has a LIGHT side and DARK side.... plus it holds the world together.
we schedule here: http://www.meetup.com/Jackson-Gamers/ There is 5-6 on there
I signed up. It'll probably be a while before I can go up there due to working extra hours and I don't make trips to jackson that often. I told a couple other guys about it though.

I was born In MS, played Battletech back in old days of places like, Coast Comics, Dragon's workshop and Zoackies (Distrubutor).... I hope the MS Gamers could get Privateer Press to Sponsor events at "Coast-Con," Good luck my Brothers in MS, make it down to San Diego, CA to play at "Comic-Con, KingdomCon, and watch a TJ "Donkey Show." ha ha
Lots of talk of starting league play soon. Anyone interested?
Actually if anyone here is in the south mississippi area meaning the southern counties please join this site.

Me (Man-of-War on the SMG site) and others play at the moment haven't had a head count yet, but it's starting to pick up more after wargamescon. Plus we are starting game day events in Gautier, MS once a month. Which it's on facebook on Gulfcoast gamers I believe. The next event will be on the 16th. I ran the last event for warmachine/hordes there which I brought a few people into the game by teaching them. There are others that are learning in our group, but played in the 40k event that day.

I'm from the Brookhaven area, and there about six of us that play Warmachine/Hordes. We usually go to Jackson to a place called Van's Cards and Comics where we get our Warmachine/Hordes stuff. We are thinking about asking him to start small tournaments there.
