In the wargroup that I play in I heard that our merc player just obtained a new warcaster that I have not played yet...Ahlynn D'Elyse (http://battlecollege.wikispaces.com/mkiiAshlynn)
I noticed her feat is pretty down right dirty lol:
Roulette: Her feat effects models in her control range, and not models attacking into her control range. Those models roll extra attack dice, and Ashlynn's controller forces them to discard two of them. This can be used both offensively and defensively, denying attacks against you, and ensuring your attacks hit. It is also quite useful at arranging critical hits. Roulette tends to make Ashlynn unassailable in melee, thanks to her exceptional defense and Riposte ability.
So my understanding of this is for one turn both players will roll 3 dice. My opponent would be able to remove 2 dice from my roll rendering any models within its control range basically useless. Am I correct in this understanding?
If I am correct, if I am playing a mostly melee army list what is a good strategy to avoid being dominated for a turn with this feat?? My fear is I am going to play like I have a pair, get in range of this attack and get smoked lol. Any experiences or advice would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Rob
