    Default pMorghoul 35p help

    I am trying to come up with a 35p pMorghoul list. I am fairly new and played him more or less only once til now.

    Master Tormentor Morghoul (*7pts)
    * Cyclopse Brute (5pts)
    * Molik Karn (11pts)
    * Titan Gladiator (8pts)
    Cataphract Cetrati (Leader and 5 Grunts) (11pts)
    Paingiver Beast Handlers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (3pts)
    Praetorian Karax (Leader and 5 Grunts) (4pts)

    My thoughts for some changes are to drop the Karax and put a Basilisk Drake in, which means obviously less models. I am more or less positive I need the Brute, but I think it might be helpful to find one point to add swamp gobbers. I think those 6 Paingiver are needed as well, which means I cant take the min unit to get this free point.

    Any suggestions?

    Drop the Karax entirely. With the Cetrati in the list they're superfluous. That frees up the the points for the Drake as you pointed out, and gives you a very nice ranged option. Next drop the Cetrati to a minimum size. This gives you 3 points to play with, one of which can go to the aforementioned Swamp Gobbers (an excellent choice). And that leaves you with 2 points for a solo of your choice.
    Alphabet powers...Why have you forsaken me?!?

    Ok what you have there is good ... the rest won't work that well and just get in the way. The Brute is good as he can shield Guard Morghoul and use his animus to make him immune to knockdown.

    Above is 20pts (with the -7 taken off) so you have 15pts left.

    4pts - Krea

    You'll need this to bump Morghouls Defence to 19 against Range, also Morghoul can cast himself to in effect make himself MAT 10 (i.e. MAT 8 + -2DEF within 2").

    This leaves 11pts , now there are several ways you can go from here, I would suggest anything thats SPD 6 or faster, and anything that doesn't need support from a Warlock.

    Ferox, Rhadiem, Bloodrunners, Praetorians, Totem Hunter, etc...

    Take your pick and go from there.

    Thanks to you two for the suggestions. Kinda getting the feeling I have to get myself some Ferox... but they are so pricey (and I already bought 100p worth the last few months).

    But the Krea sounds good. Gonna add that. As for a solo I am limited somewhat to the Extoller, which does not seem to worth playing in this list for two points.

    In my game against Cygnar Rhadeim might have been a huge help considering his speed. Therefore I will add him definitely as soon as I assemble him...

    btw: Gratz to you, Scalpel, for representing the Skorne in such an awesome and skillful way at the UK nationals!

    What do you have? That way I can see what options you have, and therefore no need to spend more cash up front.

    You are 100% correct, it will do nothing in the list so far, unless you add a unit of Praetorians or simlar, for the souls ... then its an ok ranged attack against Horde Armies.

    Thanks, but there are a few good Skorne players around atm waving the flag for the Reds ... I hear Tyrant Watts can wave the flag well state side. ... although I don't feel skillful after making that mega mistake

    What I have:
    -Krea-Savage (2)-Shaman-(Drake and Brute not yet, but want to, otherwise proxy)

    -Molik-TG-BB

    -Karax (full)-Immortals(min)-Paingiver BH(full)-Cetrati(full)-Arcuarii(min, not assembled, and dont want to^^)-Tyrant Commander + SB(need to sculpt arm of SB, misscast)

    -Ancestral Guardian (2)-Extoller-Rhadeim (not assembled yet)-Swamp Gobbers

    And most of the casters, except Hexeris and the epics.

    I am pretty sure I have to get me at least Swordsmen with UA, some 2 point solo (not sure which one), eMakeda and the rest of the lights.

    As for your mistake: Happens! Will never happen again! You moaned enough about it, especially on the podcast.
    Still a nice performance!

    * Basilisk Krea (4pts)
    Full Paingiver Beast Handlers (Leader and 5 Grunts) (3pts)
    Rhadeim (5pts)
    Full Karak (6pts)

    -------

    Ok I know I said don't use the Karak, but rather than spend a ton of cash on other stuff you can probably use them, as long as they are there only for running straight at the enemy ... don't even bother trying to SW and Advance with them ... run them straight at them, and use them to tie stuff up in melee.

    Ofc if you get an opitunity to charge go for it, but otherwise just use them as a Screen, to tie stuff up, and the rare use or putting 2+ in BtB with Morghoul if the enemy haev a ton of AOE's.

    Rhadeim for flank/terrian/solo killing duty, or heavy punch if you need him, and Wabeasts down the middle.

    Should be solid enough with some practice.

    What I definitely found out last weekend: Cetrati seem a waste in this kind of list. I am pretty sure, they are good, and probably the list I played against (eVlad with Kayazi and only one Jack) wasn't a very good match, but they do not work as well with pMorghoul.

    I gonna try the list with Rhadeim, now that I assembled him, especially since I got the feeling I could've used him effectively.
    Also, I am not sure what to do with the krea, if there are no ranged attacks incoming. She kinda stood around doing nothing and later on getting damage from transfering...
