    Default Hellmouth drag situation

I played in a tourney where this came up and wanted more input. I was charging my opponents Blightbringer with a Hellmouth next to it. The charge lane I had would have to take would require a free strike from a tenticle, causing a drag to the Hellmouth. The end position would have had my model still engaging my original charge target, would this have been a successful charge?

Getting slammed during your charge movement doesn't automatically cause the charge to fail, it just makes makes the charge movement end:
The charging model stops if it contacts a model, an obstacle,
or an obstruction or if it is pushed, slammed, thrown, or
    placed during its charge movement.
which would cause the model to change facing:
At the end of the charge movement, the charging
model turns to directly face its target.
and then determine whether the charge was successful
A charging model that is engaging its charge target at the end
of its charge movement has made a successful charge.

I'm not clear on the timing your suggesting solkan?

This is how my first thought on this scenario would play out

    1. Model A begins its charge
    2. Tentacle hits on a free strike, interrupting the charge without actually stopping it yet
    3. Tentacles attack resolves, causing a push to occur in step 14 of its free strike attack(and thus stopping the charge)
    4. The push occurs
    5. The attack occurs
    6. Model A finds that its charge has stopped
    7. Model A turns to directly face
    8. If within melee, it succeeds. If not, it fails

I'll be honest, I'm not entirely confident on the timing of the charge model recognizing it has stopped. I don't see anything to lead me to believe it would interrupt the free strikes resolution, but I'm open to the idea that the charging model stopping occurs at another point.

If you or anyone else has a different thought on the precise steps, I'm open to changing the order on things.

I'd say that you have 4 (push), 5 (the attack granted by Drag), 6&7 (stop charge movement and change facing) in slightly the wrong order.

The push ends the charge movement, so as soon as the push is resolved the charge movement ends and the model changes facing. Then the resolution of Drag continues and the attack is resolved.

    In other words:
    1. Model begins its charge, and advances out of melee range.
    2. Free strike from the tentacle at melee range hits
      1. Attack causes damage, so round about Step 14 Drag is triggered
        1. Push moves the charging model.
        2. The charge movement ends due to the push, so the charging model changes facing and determines if the charge succeeds.
        3. Other end of movement effects triggered here?
      2. The attack granted by Drag is resolved.
    3. The charging model's activation continues.

I'm not sure about the part in red, but that's a bit off topic...

I can see that order of resolution existing, yep.

Red three makes sense to me, it has to occur somewhere
