    Default Epic Morty + Kharybdis!

Looks like April is bringing more than just our Command book:

Mortenebra, Numen of the Necrogenesis – Cryx Warcaster

    Kharybdis – Cryx Heavy Warjack

You think Morty will be another "'jack" caster?

Wow, they are so pretty. So so pretty. I don't normally buy things based on appearance but I'm a sucker for creepy crawly.

I can't tell what this feeling is...is it excitement? Hope? Oh, right, April.

    W H E R E is this. I have to see it.
Sidenote: Charybdis is the name of a mythical sea monster, so we might finally be getting a character crabjack?

For decades Kharybdis was lost, believed to have been destroyed when the Cygnaran Navy sank the blackship carrying it. With nothing but a crude map, Captain Aiakos set out to recover this powerful helljack that slumbered in the deep. Kharybdis now terrorizes victims of the warcaster’s bloody raids, tearing anything within reach to pieces.

Those both look pretty awesome, I'm not going to lie.
Epic Morty looks fun to paint, in particular!
I wonder how well poseable Kharybdis is though. Seems a little... squishes in there. Loving the tentacle sculpts though! Chain Strike, perhaps? Pull?

To be fair. Mortenebra was the darling of the Converse long before Aurora started flittering about.

I hope it has at least Chain Strike and Rapid Strike, or a ridiculous number of initial attacks.

Not ridiculous. Uncomfortable number of initials.

I like Khary, looks like it has a gun mounted in it's face? If I were to take a guess it's likely a spray of some sort to actually mesh with Aikaos' feat (God I hope so if it doesn't harmonize with him I'll go crazy.)

The weapons looks between 2-4 inch reach, possibly chain weapons with Pull perhaps? My guess is P+S 16 seeing as that is the magic # for us and likely 16-22 pts.

Anyone know if a Aiakos' character jack bond would work with his Journeyman incarnation?

Not that it matters for casual play at my FLGS but that actually annoys me. I have an as-yet-unpainted crabjack with magnetized limbs but I just glued in my favourite crabjack head. Even if I buy the Charybdis kit, it will technically be tournament illegal unless I pry out the head and magnetize it so that it correctly displays all of its weapons.

If he's any kind of cheap and has a bond for Aiakos, then you can bet I'll be trying to see if he's got anything good to go with Aiakos1 as another 'roaming heavy' module that some people use.

I'm hoping for Carapace to help offset our relatively low ARM on the approach.

Just get a plastic tube from a q-tip, put a slit in it so you can slide it into place, and slap it on when you need to.

If this works, I wonder if it'll priced for the "extra" 4 points to use him with Aiakos1.

    Carapace would be really useful.

They stopped doing the character jack upgrades. This should be a full jack so not sure why the magnetized limbs and heads should matter if you purchase the model.

While I agree I honestly think it's a pipe dream sadly, Cryx is anything but durable... Odds are it's a really aggressive kill bot that can drag in plenty of foes and has multiple initial melee attacks along with a possibly dismisable gun in that head of heads.

I agree, but if anything in Cryx were going to get Carapace, it should be the crabjacks, who actually have a piece called "Carapace" in their construction (along with Seethers and Deathjack, according to the PP bits store).

I wouldn't say no to Carapace; I'm not expecting it, by any means. What I do want is a good price point, Chain Strike, Rapid Strike, and at least two initial attacks per arm.

I'm very happy for Cryx and their gribbly tentacle warjack, but the first thing that came to mind when I saw its face/gun was "Noot noot".

Also, I don't think that's Charybdis on the cover there, looks more like a Wraith Engine.

Also also, have a wild, completely unfounded speculation, based on its nautical theme: Imprint[Submerge]

It's cool that they decided to give us Una2's Field Marshal as a feat.

Field Marshall: you're a scavenger now. How does this interact with scavs and with canker ?
