    Default Battlefoam trays

Did anyone purchase the new 'customized' trays from battlefoam.com ? I'm just wondering how well they fit existing models. I'm currently using Sabol army transport and the trays are 13" x 7.5", the battlefoam ones look like they're much bigger.

As I understand it, the new ones arent out yet. The ones up on the site were from before the deal privateer press struck with them on the new bags and trays. The ones currently on the site are just trays with parts cut out that generally fit WM minis.

I haven't used them personally, but our LGS carries Battlefoam and the trays are quite a bit larger. The cases are quite heavy as well even empty as they have a hard plastic shell.

I purchased several last week. They have arrived at home (according to my wife), but I am on the road until tomorrow. I'm looking forward to trying them out and I'll post how the models fit when I get a chance.

The trys I bought were the warjack trays as well as the different infantry trays, sized for Warmachine/Hordes. I already had other trays and I can say that I love my Battlefoam so far!

Sweet! Is it possible to post some pics with your figs in the trays?

Sorry guys I had a busy weekend and didn't get to post. I'll take some pics and post them tonight, if I can figure it out. The trays worked out great, BTW, but I'll let you judge for yourself. :-)

Hey if anyone knows how to post images pm me. It's late and I tried a few times but I'm thinking I have to have them hosted somewhere and then link it here. If that's the case I'll sign put them up tomorrow. I do have the pics, I just can't get them posted here right now.

www.imageshack.us = hosting with no signup, though that may have changed.

I currently use photobucket, which is much nicer, but requires an account to use.

I hope this helps, since I'm interested in seeing how those trays look!

I use myspace to host my images actually...
(it's really all that site is good for anymore)

Looking forward to any pictures, although there is an old thread with a link to buy rolls of pluck foam. It is also a good overall thread on building your own.
They are going to have to be awesome for me not to just make my own and use the savings to buy models.

I'll try to post the pics at lunch today.

One of the pics is of a 1.5 inch thick 72-troop tray. That's right, 72 troops in one tray. It's holding mostly mercs. I think that is pretty awesome ;-)

LOL I can't figure out how to enable that either. Looking at the settings, it _seems_ like it's on, but I must be missing something somewhere...

Huh. Large 'jack tray seems like it was made for the behemoth/deathjack/extremes.

The 72 fig 1.5 looks nice, but I'm not sold on the other ones. There's a little too much room for clanking around in the larger sizes.

I know in the announcement they said new trays would be coming out "sometime" after the release of the new transport that were made for specific factions and to be able to securely fit the figures of that faction.

Right now, they are just stacked on a shelf, so the extra room for some of the figs isn't an issue. I bought an assortment to see what sizes wokred for what models, and I simply put every single model I have put together in the trays I bought. The ones I am showing were the ones on the top, so I just put in the last few figs, even if they were put in a compartment that was a little bigger than necessary.

I think my Cygnar trays would do better justice, and my Circle trays, too; those are my primary armies, and I took more care to "fit" them for actual transport. There are other sizes, I just wanted to show the 4 main types I have and you can judge what kind of figs fit in.

Yes, the really big warjack trays have a few compartment for really big jacks and beasts; I simply haven't put together my Thunderhead, Deathjack, Beast, etc. yet. (I am behind not only in painting by assembly).

Yeah, but they're great for Trolls, Skorne, Precursors, and other bigger troops. I'll post pics with those in and you'll see how they look.

Still figuring out best size combos for my army.

I am looking at getting these for my Retribution but I am not sure which trays to get. Does any know if the ones they make for the Sabols have the same compartment sizes just less of them so they fit in the army transports?

The Sabols are mostly "pluck-foam", meaning you have 1/4" squares you can pull out to make your own shapes. I have several Sabol trays, in 1.5", 3", and 4", and they fit pretty much anything I throw in them. The 1" trays are too small to use, though, since small bases are 30mm which is bigger than 1", so they won't fully fit even sideways.

It should also be noted that they are easily carve-able. It's not hard to get something in there pretty snugly, without being too tight and killing the paintjob.

I am not talking about the pluck ones. My original post was not clear at all about what I was talking about. This is what I am talking about.

    http://battlefoam.com/catalog.php?category=1

Battlefoam makes trays that are already made into compartments but will fit into the army transports. I was wondering if anyone had used them and how well they work for WM.

Ask Setzer for dimensions, then you can measure your case.

Those trays would be good if you want to fit them into Sabol transports. they are the same size tray as the Sabol. The only problem I see is that these trays are all 1 inch thick, and the bases would stick out a bit; that's why I ordered 1.5 inch thick trays. I do not know if Battlefoam makes Sabol sized trays at 1.5 inch thicknesses, but you could always call and ask. Romeo (the owner) will be able to help you get what you need and tell you if 1.5 inch Sabol-sized trays are available.
