Default Three 35 Point Talion Charter Lists

So I've finally seriously got involved into MK2. My LGS was the type that avoided the changes because we had so many hordes players. But now that the Hordes Mk2 fieldtest is almost out we have swapped over in full force.

This means the gears are turning and I'm churning out pirate lists the likes of which haven't been seen for quite some time. We have gained some things and lost others making many of our lists look much different. I've built three lists, one for each caster, that at first glance look relatively balanced. As of now each is untested and is open for discussion.

List 1 - Captain Phinneus Shae
Shae is the Talion Charter's golden boy and the first Warcaster all of us pirate fanatics saw in the No Quarter way back when. Undoubtedly a caster with a flair for infantry he has some new tricks. Where before I would use Shae as an all out alpha strike caster that would completely cripple my enemies the decrease in the hitting power of the pirates has made his role change. The list I have assembled for him revolves around disrupting the enemy while getting stuck and then using a combination of Shae's feat and Veil of Mists to sneak a few models past the front line and into the enemy caster. This list is best used (in theory) against armies with high ARM low DEF warjacks (like Khador, Trolls or Dwarves).

    35 - Shae (+6)
    - Freebooter
    - Nomad
    - Buccaneer
    Sea Dog Crew (x10)
    - Mr. Walls
    Aiyanna and Holt
    The Commodore Cannon!
    Bosun Grogspar
    Doc Killingsworth
    First Mate Hawk
    Lord Rockbottom

List 2 - Captain Bartolo Montador
The Bart list focuses more on keeping the enemy at range while disrupting their movement forward and pumping them full of fire on their way in. With Bart's Battlegroup wide spell I feel his is ideal for running with an increased number of warjacks than our other casters. This list is ideal for opponents that rely on high def or large numbers of infantry such as Cryx, Menoth, Circle, or Legion. Remember that your Press Gangers are around to form a wall of tough to keep your shooty jacks out of melee.

    35 - Captain Bartolo Montador (+5)
    - Mariner
    - Mule
    - Vanguard
    - Buccaneer
    Press Gangers (x10)
    Bosun Grogspar
    Doc Killingsworth
    First Mate Hawk
    Lord Rockbottom
    Master Gunner Dougal McNalie

List 3 - Fiona the Black
I don't have much experience with Fiona the Black but I do have an eye for a good combo when I see one. Fionas ability to allow one of her models to ignore LOS as well as making any model an Arc Node allows her to make some really nasty assassination attempts against the enemy caster. Out of all three of the casters she is our best assassin. This works best if you know you're going to be fighting someone feeble (like Nemo, or Severius). Her feat allows you to get stuck in and then stall the enemy while you jockey for your assassination run.

    35 - Fiona the Black (+6)
    - Mariner
    - Freebooter
    - Buccaneer
    - Press Gangers - Cultists (x6)
    Sea Dog Crew (x10)
    - Mr. Walls
    Bosun Grogspar
    Doc Killingsworth
    First Mate Hawk
    Lord Rockbottom
    Master Gunner Dougal McNalie

Hey Mods - I posted this is the wrong forum by accident. Could you move me over to the list discussion? I don't know how to report anymore!

Under the post on the left-hand side there's a little triangle with an exclamation point in the middle. Click that to report. Nothing to say on the lists though.

It costs 3 points to raise a 6 man crew unit to a 10 man unit. For those same 3 points you can include 3 Rifleman. So 3 rifleman vs 4 regular crewmembers.

With Rifleman having point blank on their rifles now. They are just out and outright better.

I haven't played with the sea dogs in MKII yet. However since their official rules have come out I have seen a large number of lists involving having Rifleman before more crew. I agree that it's the better deal since CRA and a larger shooting range are so huge.
Your Shae list would work either way. Though I'd lean toward Rifleman. Your Fiona list however would benefit greatly from having Rifleman instead of crew. It makes the unit a much more viable Nonokrion Brand target.

While that might work in a Bart list I'm inclined to want to keep the extra crewmember in the Shae list. Point blank doesn't stack with hawk or charge bonuses so i'm better off using them melee troops.
Why not bring the conversation to twitter?
