    Default Legion of Mordjinn

    Introducing my Legion. Went with the studio scheme, but with strong shadows/highlights and darker colors to make the models look more violent and dangerous. The strong contrasts helps things pop out from the gaming distance too.

    Carnivean

    Two out of my four Shredders

    At the moment working on Lylyth to complete the starter box. Feedback highly appreciated.

    I always like to see high contrast painting.
    You did a good job on the Carnivean. He looks very convincing and I prefer the contrast over that of the somewhat bland studio scheme.
    The shredders appear to need a bit of work though.

    Looking forward to seeing the moose riders or Vayl

    The armour plating looks like stone. That is really cool.
    I tend to lose. A lot.

    Here are the latest additions to the force. I'm aiming at uniform look with the use of relatively restricted palette and I didn't want to use any metal paints with my legion, so all the armor and metals are painted NMM. Also had my first stab at two brush blending with Lylyth's cloak. Quite happy with the result.

    Awesome job! I relly envy your painting skills. The Carnivean especially made me go WOW! The NMM look perfectly done also. In other words: Helvetin hienoja nappeja

    Looking good, your paint job is really effective. How did you paint the bone plates on the Carnivean?

    Thanks

    That monochromatic palette is looking gorgeous. Your swordsmen in particular look like nasty shadows. Very good work.

    I like the colours you have used and general dark look of your models. Especially the dirt on Lylyth cloak looks really good.

    @all
    Thanks for the compliments. Your kind words give me energy. At the moment I'm working on Angelius and should be able to get it up soon.

    @dave3555
    On the Carni armor plates I first based a GW Foundation paint Khemri Brown on black basecoat. The foundation paints have a nice muted character to them and they cover large areas easily. Then I washed with good old GW Devlan Mud, after which it was a long and hard highlighting process with first Khemri Brown, then Khemri Brown / Bleached Bone -mix and finally very thin Bleached Bone. In the end I did a strong highlight with Bleached Bone to all the bits, which were up towards the sun, to add contrast.

    Great work. I like the strong shadows, it makes for a fantastic looking army.

    Looking forward to seeing more.

    The latest additions to the force. Angelius and Raek. With Raek I tried making stone base from cork the first time and I'm quite pleased with the result.

    Bone and skin scheme fits each other well. Great work there.

    It seems that colour skin of angelius and raek differs a little from this used on carnievean.

    EXTREMELY IMPRESSED with your skills, and the choice of colors as well. A+ across the board on these. Competition worthy in my book!

    Really makes me like the Legion sculpts, I usually found that they all blended together and didnt stand out individually. This scheme really lets me see the details and I find I notice a lot more about the models.

    Cheers, T

    I like your revised flesh tone better. It's more dramatic and looks smoother and less patchy.

    These are already over a year old but I found the pictures from my computer and realized that I haven't posted them yet. So behold, the warlocks of the Legion.

    These are just gorgeous. Your painting style reminds me of my own, which obviously makes me biased.
