    Default The Plasticardehemoth

I'm doing a commision of the behemoth for a friend of mine. But like almost everyone else I despise the scrawny little legs. Not having access to the extreme sculpts, I decided to use plasticard to beef it up.
This has been a learning experience for me since I've never used plasticard before, but it is pretty easy to work with.

These shots are before it being undercoated:

There will hopefully be further updates

Two things about him that bug me are that I can't really identify any knees and his ankles look a bit spindly. That might be just the photo angles though.
Otherwise he has a nice stature that is woefully absent from the original model.

Yes, the ankle area could use a little more beefing up. But the new posture is definitely a huge improvement over the original.

I agree to the spindlyness as the wifey also pointed out. Will see what I can do about it

Consider shaving off the spikes and making a Knee plate, to give it a knee?

I think his "loincloth" armor plate looks a little too much like a necktie from the 70's. It's too narrow at the top, and flares out too much at the bottom. Other than that (and the ankle issue others have pointed out), I like what you're doing here. I'll be interested to see its progress.

I like the extra pistons in the sides. That's one of the things that's always bugged me about 'jacks. The vast majority of the weight is in the torso, yet there's very little structural support to manage movement of the jack/ shifting weight as it charges, run sways etc. Long story short, I think it makes it look more realistic.

    An update:

Bulked out the lower legs some more. Concerning knees I picture them as the bulky lower part of the original upper legs. I also changed the loincloth so it hopefully doesn't look like a seventies tie anymore.

A comparison shot with an old juggernaut I had lying around
