    Default First Few Khador Models

So my wife and I are just getting into WarmaHordes I will be playing Khador (already thinking about trollbloods too though) and she's playing circle, I wanted to start a thread for us to post some pics and get comments or ask questions as we paint, I was mainly inspired by Col Festus's thread.

Today I have a plastic Sorscha, Classic Butcher, plastic Destroyer and plastic Juggy painted. Sorry if some of the pics are bad I just deiscovered the macro option on our camera this morning and my wife is the real photog. And before the comments come I've been out of the hobby for a couple months and Scorscha was the first model i've painted in a while so she will be getting stripped and repainted, and her weapon will be replaced with brass rod instead of a plastic pole.

    Heres the Butcher

    The Juggy

    The Destroyer

Sorscha and the Group (its a little Dark)

So my i'm looking for comments mainly on the cohesion of the army, does everything look like it goes together, also the baes to finish them I plan on adding some yellow dead grass on them and painting facing marks as well.

Also a question for the masses who own airbrushes, i've been painting my red by hand over white primer in lots of thin layers, and want to know if I prime white and airbrush my same red color will i get the same general tone of color on the model, Just thinking about saving a little time.

    Hope you enjoy

Nice solid colors. Though it looks like you could use a bit of shading. Good start and welcome to the Motherland.

Is that the new plastic Sorscha?

Yeah got her and the battle box at Gen Con, yeah I agree with the shading some of the highlight seems to have been washed out in the photos, but I agree they need some more depth, any suggestions maybe a wash (they have already had a GW Baal Red Wash) or just darken the Khador Red and blend in the deep areas?

Needs something in the deep areas. I've heard people go for the Delven mud wash to create shadows. A wood stain dip could work too. To many ways to go about it, to list all of them.

It's funny of all the things listed as being sold at Gencon no one mentioned the Plastic battle box. At least none of the threads that I read about.

Yeah I really like the battle box, at least for my first warmachine models I think it was a good start anyways, I might try a devlan mud wash on Sorscha as she is kind of a test model and will hit the simple green anyways, I have and always will hate painting eyes and if I had a better shot of Sorschas face you could see how bad it looks, she would most deffinitly be a double bagger.

Man...that Sorcha sculpt blows the metal one away...trade?
All in all not bad, a lighter highlight to break up the big red wouldn't hurt. But not bad.

Very nice bud. I think your photo is washing out the highlights as I can see they are there, but barely. Maybe little wash to help those stand out more on the red overall. Nice stuff there though.

Don't use flash if you can help it. I find that takes away from the model.

You've pulled off the stock scheme quite well.

that's a really solid paint job. Good rich colors, nice clean lines.

And it's the Butcher, so of course I like it.

I fear what the butcher would do if you did not like him, right now I'm going back and painting the dips on the smokestacks black, the washes i used did not leave them dark enough for me, Also any ideas if it would look good to do a blue glow effect from the vision slits on the jacks? I'm still trying to get some more pic but 12 hour days do no agree with free time when you get home.

@BigRed: Thanks for the link looks like its time to do some reading.
@BoK: You gonna love the plastic sculpt I suggest replacing the stock plastic pole on her weapon with a brass rod if you have a chance.

Nice clean models there. If you want to shade the red with a deeper tone, I suggest you add some exile blue to the KR base. Show us the repainted Sorscha when she is done.

Yeah I think Sorscha will hit the simple green tonight or tomorrow, I will start painting my spriggan, and hopefully some widowmakers and a wardog when tuesday when my shift ends.

Very nice vibrant colors. Looks crisp and clean, which looks really good on khador.
