Default [pics!] First French MkII Tournament

Yep, first WM/H MkII tournament in France.
    Ever.

OK, that's not saying much. Maybe first European also ? Anyway, we drew a staggering 20 players to our good town of Lyons, mostly our usual suspects which you may remember from the old forum threads.

So, six 35 pts games. Basic throwdown, kill the caster-style. We thought everyone would still be learning to play with their new toys, which is why we decided to keep things simple. Of course, nothing is ever easy in life, and the Privateer Update Conspiracy made their move to disrupt our best laid plans with new stat cards only hours before the tournament began. Damn you Yankees !

And to make things worse, fracking elves got onto the top three, Blighted Nyss bracketed by two Iosan scumdogs. A good elf's a dead elf, that's what Goreshade always says.

Anyway, pics. Bad lighting (with power breakdowns and even snow) kept me from shooting bright photographs, but I feel I've managed to capture the mood of the day.

(Only 4 pics/message ? How are we Frenchmen supposed to brag ?)

I would like to know about the cryx army with the INSANE grrn highlights and blending, what colors were used for base coats and highlights up. I saw the picture after deployment looking down the line of cryx...that army looks amazing. If you can find out for me an send me a PM i would appreciate it. I want to steal it!

I may have said this before, but if I ever play in another tournament I'm coming to France to do it. So great to see all those fully painted armies (but some really off the wall color schemes there, some work great and some not so great, but still they're painted and that says a lot.) And as before, some really nice terrain to play on. As always, thanks for taking the time to share this with us.

However, noticeable by their absence is a certain stunning pink Cryx force. Were you playing a different force this time around, or were you the event photographer for the day?

I don't know what it is but french wargamers believe in painted armeis. Really beautiful painted armies. As usual, these do not disappoint. Congratulations on a successful tournament.

    Answers Time!

@ Pinkpantie : Elves at 1st and 3rd places, Legion between. Mighty Z just said it in his first post in fact. No best painted army price this time, it was just a little tournament in order to discover each other armies in MKII.

@ Rave0183 : These awesome Cryx are Bubupowa's! You can find him on this forum, just look at his paint thread.

@ all : You're all welcome in France!

Zoroastre: Every time you post tourney pics, you're just furthering my belief that all Frenchmen are fantastic minis painters.

Sounds like you all had a good time, and every looks awesome.

    Of France...?

Ok I've just played my Elves for the first time and nobody was expecting what to do against them, it won't be as easy next time...

Madrak and Mulg laugh when they listen to you... MAT 11 and POW 19, it's too strong for them (or for anyone else)!

Before Crusher, AYGET and lot of buff:

A turn, ten elves and a pretty warcaster after, "Mulg+Crusher+Carnage+WarCry+Rush" win a cheese medal in France...
But i loose all my games after that... Mulg is no more hunger!

War cry wasn't put on Mulg was it? OR are you just saying all those Abilities, Spells, Animi, Feat?

I ask because War Cry can't be cast on a best, only warrior model/unit.

You may know this already but I am trying to make the cheese mild

Oups, you're right. I have read the first sentence and not war cry text:

This model can make one of the following calls any time during its activation. A friendly Faction model/unit can be
affected by only one Fell Call each turn.

Yeah it's the whole WARRIOR model verbage now, but who knows that could still change when the cards come out as other threads are stating, etc.

Always a pleasure to see those fine French paintjobs. I almost like the Retribution models in that top image, and that takes a lot of doing.
