Shhh! I'm supposed to be writing an essay right now, keep this one to yourselves.

Affected with an insatiable lust for carnage, Bloodancers are the mentally fractured remnants of failed Blood Witches, unable to properly channel their sadistic nature through the proper rituals, Bloodancers are often chained by the Lacerators lashed around their arms to the deck of the Blackships where their mad shrieks and howls blend with the wails of agony that herald the ship's passage.
When the Satyxis set out for one of their butcherous raids Bloodancers are often in the van of the assault; leaping and cavorting to a song that only exists in their broken minds, they leave a trail of the dead and dying, their unbound magical potential warping reality around them; causing blood-red Roses to bloom from every drop of spattered gore, dripping with toxic latex from their thorns; or entrapping victims in endless loops of agony that can turn the stomach of the most season warrior, and twisting the evidence of their violence into bizarre sigils and sigils that the Bloodancer can seemingly intepret to see a picture of her own future.

    Satyxis Bloodancer, Cryx Solo
    SPD-7 STR-5 MAT-7 RAT-4 DEF-15 ARM-12 CMD-9
    FA- 2
    Points Cost- 2
    Damage- 5
    Base- Small
    Bloodancer

    Weapons [Bloodancer]
    Horns- POW: 3 P+S: 8
    Lacerator [2x] - POW: 4 P+S: 9

Combo Pirouette (* Attack) - When this model makes a Combo Pirouette special attack, it's front arc extends 360o. Make a melee attack roll and compare the total rolled to the DEF of each model in this model's melee range. If the attack roll equals or exceeds a model's DEF, that model is directly hit. Models hit suffer a damage roll equal to this models STR plus twice the POW of this weapon.
Bloodletting- When this model makes an attack with this weapon during it's activation, choose one of the following abilities:
. Blood Roses- If this attack boxes a living model, centre a 3" AOE on the boxed model and remove it from play. Living non-Blighted, non-Satyxis models entering or ending their normal movement within one or more AOE's suffer 1 corrosion damage point. Blood Rose AOE's remain in play for one round.
Haruspicy- If this attack destroys a living model, this model gains Dodge for one round (A model with Dodge can advance up to 2" immediately after an enemy attack that missed it is resolved unless it was missed while advancing. It cannot be targeted by free strikes during this movement.)
Tender Mercies- A living model disabled by this attack gains

Remember, Pirouette only counts as one attack, so you may only use one effect, no matter how many enemy models you hit. Yes the effect applies to every eligible model (Yes, that many AOEs!)

A lot of these rules seem to be missing.
    - What exactly does the AOE do? So far it seems that anything knocked down within it suffers corrosion, which is just kind of weird and clunky. I think it is missing some words. Might consider just replacing it with the Blood Weavers' burst ability.
    - I don't understand Tender Mercies at all.
    - I feel like Combo Pirouette doesn't really fit with the whole Mk2 Streamlining idea. I like it, but the name and maybe some of the minor effects could use a tweak.
    - Haruspicy is a nice effect, but the name is so archaic I might reconsider it for something a little less dusty.

Basically just needs some rewording. Cool concept and all, but I actually feel like, based on how I am reading it now, this model is frankly underpowered at 3 points. Knock it down to 2, lower the base POW 1(?), and reword some of it, and I think you're good.

How about if I change it to 'entering or ending it's activation...'? At the moment it is designed to aid Satyxis Raiders in dealing with tough models by strengthening their critical knockdown effect, and also punishes models with Tough.
    - I don't understand Tender Mercies at all.
Tender Mercies works by utilising the following rules:
"When a model is disabled, immediately resolve all effects triggered by being disabled"
"If a model or unit encounters a terrifying entity at some other time, such as when an enemy model gains the Terror ability or a terrifying entity is placed near the model or unit, make the command check immediately after resolving the attack or effect that caused the encounter"
So the order of effect is:
Model A is hit, damaged, disabled.
    Model A gains Abomination
Models within 3" take command check. (Note that the Bloodancer is Fearless)
Model A is boxed, destroyed, removed.
    - I feel like Combo Pirouette doesn't really fit with the whole Mk2 Streamlining idea. I like it, but the name and maybe some of the minor effects could use a tweak.
I'll reword it a bit to be more like Shae's Swashbuckler.
    - Haruspicy is a nice effect, but the name is so archaic I might reconsider it for something a little less dusty.
Okay, the alternates I could find are: Anthropomancy, Haruscopy, Driromancy (That's even better, it means divination from dripping blood), Extispicy. It's hard to find a short way of describing someone seeing the future in the remains of someoe you just eviscirated.
Basically just needs some rewording. Cool concept and all, but I actually feel like, based on how I am reading it now, this model is frankly underpowered at 3 points. Knock it down to 2, lower the base POW 1(?), and reword some of it, and I think you're good.
I can't lower the POW, that's just what a Lacerator is, but I'll knock down the points and see if th changes polish it up any better.

Not just the double D's - she seems to be missing any rack at all. But then again, 3 weapons might be too much.

Anyway, it's been a while since I posted anything Homebrew wise so here's something that's been rattling around my brain for a couple of days:

Fixed, although she doesn't quite match up to Skarre's Great Rack.

I foresee games involving Braddock being plagued with LOTR quotes:

    Hey guys!

I'm looking at Loopy's stats and the comments iknowinternet made concerning her playstyle. It was mentioned she needed a fast, hard-hitting beast a la the Warpwolf.

I have an idea for a Warbeast, though something more akin to the Shadowhorn Satyr, though with a harder punch than having Reversal.

But what would you recommend a beast that's more tailored to Loopy be? What abilities?

I'm thinking of a spotted kangaroo pugilist called a "Punching Judy".

    ===================

I'll come up with something for Braddock. Small-based non-dwarf, ergo human? Sounds like a Thurian or Midlunder, right?

I like the Kangaroo idea quite a bit, but I dunno where you would find a kangaroo in Immoren.
Loopy could really use a simple "fist to face" brute monster that can keep up with her. I am still considering making the Wendigo, but I feel like it would be better suited as a more humanoid Light Beast with reach (because it would be awesome to see it with an axe and snacking) that is juxtaposed with the Redcap Brute by being slightly faster and melee dedicated. Also... not sure if it would be OP or jack the points up too much, but giving it Slipstream as an animus (to represent the traditional "windwalking") would be really neat and rather fitting with the Sideshow movement shenanigans.

    IDEAS for Wendigo:
    - Light or Heavy?
    - Axe and Bite attack. Bite heals damage or triggers a snacking effect.
    - Berzerk
    - Animus: Slipstream?
    - Middling DEF and ARM
    - Avg. Speed
    - High Body and Spirit, but almost no Mind.

Also, realized the Bo-Guest/Sloo Dolls haven't been statted yet. They might provide Loopy with some interesting options.

    Hey hey... not bad!
The only thing I wonder is why the Sloo Dolls even have a standard attack (Embrace) if it does no damage. Otherwise, I really like the look of him. That animus will be VERY dirty on Loopy (and probably Zane, too).

EDIT: Armor may be a tad low for a 10 point investment
There may also need to be a limit on the number of Sloo Dolls per Bo-Guest that can be on the field at once, similar to the cap put on Darius's halfjacks (primary reason being that they could be abused to screen a caster from non-reach melee (and reach melee if you had enough of them). A cap would mean, however, that multiple Bo-Guests would allow for more Sloos, giving more incentive to field multiples (though it would be difficult at 10 points)

Ooh, thanks for statting up Bo-Guest and friends. I think another option for the Bo-Guest is to consume a Sloo Doll and gain Ghostly for a turn? Eh, dunno.

I had some idle fluff thoughts on that creature. The original write-up I made hand them found in frozen blocks, showcased by the Sideshow for a long time, and have only recently thawed. Nyssor saw how such beasts could be and entombed them in ice. But with the whole deal with Goreshade and Khador and the Legion, the ice keeping them trapped has thawed. Rather than destroy everything, they've taken to the Wolf Girl Loopy. Her violent mind is a playground and she indulges them in this war. Plus, cute dolls!

why the Sloo Dolls even have a standard attack (Embrace) if it does no damage.
That was just laziness on my part, I knew I wanted the attack to be against a single model in melee range, and I knew that since it burns souls it couldn't just be a melee attack, but I couldn't be bothered to specify it all, so I just gave it one melee attack that would always be passed over for the * effect.
Armor may be a tad low for a 10 point investment

    Alright, I'll fix those.

Definitely like the way this is shaping up. I'm going to try to finish up Baron Sledge, the gentleman Trollkin Pit Fighter and possible Sideshow partisan (they give him the best gigs), designed to be a 2 point solo that can engage targets much larger than itself and make it nearly impossible to leave.

Will also try to get to the Wendigo.

@Jaren - Still working on Thom Braddock's fluff. Anything you want to chip in for this character? Little tidbits you "picture" where this is going?

    =============================

More on the Bo-Guest (ie, something I thought about while tutoring some children in math the other day):

The Bo-Guest was trapped for a reason: They are the most primitive of all Grymkin. The "missing link", an ancient ancestor of all. They are the First Stories. Why did the gods decide to intervene in containing these creatures? Because they wouldn't let those they killed pass on to Urcaen. Instead, these beasts would keep the souls of those they have slain on Caen, playing with those unfortunate souls as a cat would play with an injured bird: forever torturing the essence of a person as it's draped in the spectral skin of a Sloo Doll.

Menoth's will manifest in the Avatar and the Harbinger, the Devourer's kind whipped into a frenzy, the trapped Nyssor and the dying Scyrah, all have left the window open, letting the sun come in and thaw those creatures who used to deny them souls. Maybe once the warriors of the gods don't greet them in the hereafter, they'll recognize their laxity has allowed the bogeys to come out and play once again. A very disturbing turn of events... Very bad. Very bad, indeed.

Bo-Guest feels a little too expensive to me, even after factoring in the Sloo dolls.

For 10 pts, (As much as a Bronzeback Titan for comparison) you get:
    a SPD 6 Heavy,
    with 2 POW+S 15 Attacks (17 with the Animus)
with the ability to hold 3 Corpse Tokens which allows it to spawn a Sloo doll. (Who's only advantage is a causing attack, and little else.)

Also, the wording on the Sloo doll limit is a little wonky. All that should need to be said is that each Bo-Guest can craft 3 Sloo-Dolls. If a Bo-Guest dies, remove any Sloo Dolls which it had crafted.

Either way, I think that a player should get a little more bang for their buck. Perhaps raise the Claw attacks to POW+S 16 for POW 18 attacks after the animus. I also see nothing wrong with allowing the Sloo Dolls to be activated after they are crafted, after all, the half jacks from Darius I believe can be, and the Sloo dolls really don't have that much of an impact on the table. Just my thoughts.

I just had a thought, maybe make the Sloo Dolls abominations? their one attack just doesn't feel like something that should cost a corpse token. However if the Sloo-Dolls were abominations, you would be able to play hell with non-fearless Infantry. Very worthwhile imho.

Agreed on both counts, Beowulf. Abomination is also fitting with the Sideshow mindset, where several of those already exist.
Sideshow has an interesting balancing act, where it wants to send in the Abominations first, or far away, to avoid spooking its own low-CMD Living models.

SIDE NOTE: On several of my homebrews, I have designated the Grymkin subtype. I am thinking of going back and making the Grymkin subtype count as Fearless, much like Undead. They would still be Living models for the purposes of Poison, etc.

Ok, I've made the following changes:
Both the Bo-Guest and Sloo Dolls are now listed as subtype: Grymkin.
    The Bo-Guest is now 9pts.
Its claw attacks are P+S: 16.
The wording on 'Spawn Sloo Doll' has hopefully been simplified.
    Sloo Dolls are now Abominations.
Soulfire is now an auto-hit attack.

Edit: iknowinternet- I've had a thought on Baron Sledge; if you gave him 2 melee attacks, Knockdown, Trash, and Defensive Strike, he would be able to face down a charging warbeast, take it down, and then pummel it like an MMA fighter.

ReEdit: Just a couple of plain profiles for now, no fluff. I get a lot f satisfaction from Cryx homebrews, there are so fewer constraints.
Thrall Lieutenant, Cryx Mechanithrall Unit Attachment
    SPD-6 STR-7 MAT-6 RAT-5 DEF-12 ARM-12 CMD-7
    FA- 1
    Points Cost- 2
    Damage- 5
    Base Size- Small
Attachment [Mechanithrall] ? This attachment can be added to a Mechanithrall unit.
    Lieutenant

Granted: Practiced Manoeuvres - While this model is in play, models in its unit gain Practiced Manoeuvres. (A model with Practiced Manoeuvres can ignore other models in its unit when drawing LOS and can advance through other models in its unit if it has enough movement to move completely past their bases)
Unleash [Brute Thralls] ? Once per game this model can use Unleash. Brute Thrall models in this unit in formation become solos for the rest of the game, and can activate normally after this unit finishes its activation.
    Weapons [Lieutenant]
    Steam Fist [2x] - POW: 4 P+S: 11
Combo Strike (* Attack) ? Make a melee attack. Instead of making a normal damage roll, the POW of the damage roll is equal to this model?s STR plus twice the POW of this weapon.

    Ferrusyte, Cryx Bonejack
    SPD-6 STR-8 MAT-7 RAT-5 DEF-14 ARM-16 CMD--
    FA- U
    Points Cost- 5
    Base Size- Medium

    [-][-][-][-][-][-]
    [H][C][C][C][C][M]
    [H][H][H][M][M][M]
    Ferrusyte

Parry- This model cannot be targeted by free strikes.
    Weapons [Ferrusyte]
    Mandibles- POW: 5 P+S: 13
Critical Hull Breach- On a critical hit, instead of rolling damage normally you can choose to breach a target Warjack. Remove this model from the table. At the start of the breached Warjack's activation it and this model must roll a d6 and add their STR. If the breached Warjack's total exceeds that of this model, it suffers d6 damage points and this model is placed anywhere in the breached Warjacks front arc and melee range. If this model's total exceeds that of the breached Warjack, that model cannot advance, attack or perform any special actions or attacks. This model can still be activated while off the table and make its initial attack against the breached Warjack. This attack ignores the Buckler and Shield weapon qualities. Damage suffered from this attack is assigned to the breached Warjacks system boxes. If the breached Warjack is wrecked by an attack replace it with a wreck marker and place this model in the centre of it.

So here it is... the Wendigo. Might be either overpowered or underpowered, I can't really tell. All I know is that it isn't quite right just yet.

    WENDIGO
    Minion Sideshow Light Warbeast

“The taste of human flesh is best left to the beasts.”
    - Ancient Umbrean saying

    SPD 6 STR 9 MAT 6 RAT 4 DEF 15 ARM 14 FUR 3 THR 7
    FA U PC 6 Base M
Damage Spirals: Light Beast – Low Mind, Med Body, High Spirit

    ANIMUS: Slipstream
COST 1 RNG SELF AOE - POW - UP No OFF No
When this model ends its normal movement, one friendly Faction model this model moved within 2" of is placed completely within 2" of the friendly Faction modelʼs current location, then Slipstream expires. A model can be placed by Slipstream only once per turn.

    WENDIGO
    Immunity: Cold
    Terror

Cleave – When this model destroys one or more enemy models with a melee attack during its activation, immediately after that attack is resolved the model can make one additional melee attack. This model can gain only one additional attack from Cleave each activation.
Man-Eater – This model can charge living warrior models without being forced.
Snacking - When this model boxes a living model with a melee attack, this model can heal d3 damage points. If this model heals, the boxed model is removed from play.
Two Minds - This model may reroll one failed threshold check per turn.

    WEAPONS
    Two-Handed Axe POW 4 P+S 13
    Reach

    ------------------
Pressed for time, as it is really late here, so I'll just give a brief synopsis.
The Wendigo are not Grymkin beasts, but rather are the result of some ancient and malign curse that affects mortals who have tasted the flesh of their own kind. In the frigid north, this practice is sadly not as uncommon as one would think, but some of those pressed into cannibalism suffer eternally for their transgression.
These individuals go on to live a normal life, and may bury the memories of their hunger deep, but when confronted by great stress, the dormant curse of the Wendigo takes hold, and they become something worse than human. The Wendigo is a ropy, emaciated mockery of a human, with obscene patches of fur and long teeth. Its eyes burn red with an insatiable hunger for flesh, and it runs as fleet as the wind through the night, silent until it releases a guttural howl and closes in on the kill. More than a mindless predator, the Wendigo often uses man-made weapons and retains the cunning of its host. Most terrifying of all, the unfortunate human experiences all of the carnage the Wendigo causes firsthand, feeling marrow and blood spill through predatory teeth as if they were its own. Occasionally, a strong-willed host can attempt to wrest control away from the insane cannibal spirit, if only for a brief moment of soul-shattering clarity.
The Sideshow does not directly employ Wendigo, nor does Stelleylya much care for their presence, but even the Rusalka ringmistress cannot tell which of the Sideshow's many members may harbor a flesh-eating terror within their skin. Only when great trouble and war come to the Sideshow do the horrifying Wendigo come forth, lending their services to the warlocks. They ask for only one type of payment before they leave their host broken and horrified: meat... and lots of it.

So, he doesn't need to be forced to charge anything but Cryx, he doesn't need to be forced to perform extra attacks providing he kills, which isn't difficult with the highest Light P+S in Hordes, he doesn't need to be forced to heal when he boxes anything with those attacks, and if you do force him, which you will because Slipstream is one of the single strongest animi in the game, he can reroll the subsequent Threshold check? I'd say he's pretty overpowered at the moment. The only downside to him is his weak ARM, but with an 11" threat range, Snacking, and Slipstream slingshots either from a second Wendigo or the Warlock he wouldn't be in the firing line long.

I suggest replacing Snacking with Regeneration, and Beserk with Double Strike or Cleave. He'll still hit as hard, but he won't be mowing through entire units and shrugging off any damage, and you'll have to think harder about commiting him to melee or keeping him safe for his animus.

You're right on all counts. Thinking of retooling it as an FA 2 glass cannon berzerk heart-eater (a la Tharn Whitemane). No slipstream, but give it Dodge instead and tone down the axe a bit to compensate for being able to boost with heart tokens. Something that is ferocious once stuck in, but a gambit to get upfield.

Then again, if his P+S was knocked down to, say 13, and he was given Cleave instead... remove the Two Minds rule but keep his THR dangerously low... and possibly replace Slipstream with something else...
I DO want him to keep Snacking because it is a) flavorful (no pun intended), b) provides Tough mitigation, c) and honestly won't come into effect as much as you'd think, because with the damage spirals as low as I envision, and the low ARM, if he is hit by withering fire, he's probably dead.
Man-Eater is also flavorful, but without Two Minds, Slipstream or Berserk, it is more manageable.
Also no Terror. Instead, what about an animus that acts a bit like Boomhowler's Howl of Terror (albeit at a smaller, set range)?

Just out of curiosity, and since I don't have all the books, are there any Warbeasts/Warjacks that have Berserk? I don't think even the Berserkers have that.

Anyhoo, I want to work on one last generic Sideshow Unit: The Revolting Peasants. Basically they're just your generic Sea Dogs-esque unit made up of the generic freaks of the Sideshow. Ones that benefit nicely from Zane's buffs/feat, as well as solos or other buffing spells.

The WarpWolf Stalker has Berserk as one of it's warps.

@Ferrusyte: Wow, this could be a punishing little jack. At least it's STR is low enough that a heavy will be able to shake it off a good percentage of the time.

@Wendigo: I see no problem with it having berserk, as long as it's P+S was reduced to 13 or at most 14. I haven't been following the Side Show as closely as I could be, so I don't know what sorts of Beast Buffing power the Lock's can put out. I think of the Wendigo like a Troll Axer meets Nephelim Soldier. At least that's what I envision.

Axer/Nephelim Soldier is EXACTLY what I was going for.

I worry that without Berserk, players will be all-too-willing to throw it up into the fray with other Sideshow troops, when it is meant to be a voracious, dangerous monster that is detested even by its own faction. And it only has a "faction" in the loosest sense of the word.

Here's a "cute-ified" version a friend sketched (in less than five minutes) for me for the Bo-Guest and Sloo doll. She plans on making it look much more... Warbeast-ish later.

You sure? I mean, isn't that sort of the point of the Sideshow?

Took the words out of my mouth. You want to look at the sketch and think "Aww, how cute....OMG it's eating someone's heart? And what's the little one doing...."
