    Default Trying a Steelhead Concept

My LGS is planning on running 35's and 50's on game nights. I have never made a MKII list before. I play magnus and searforge. Since magnus seams borderline broken with how good hes gotten (although, so do the rhuls) I wanted to try him in a steelhead list. So here we go:

    Stannis Brocker
    steelhead halberdiers (10)
    steelhead halberdiers (10)
    steelhead halberdiers (10)
    Steelhead Heavy Cavalry (5)

    Rupert Carvolo, Piper of Ord
    Rienholdt, gobber speculator

    total 35 points

Now with this list, which caster should I bring, and with what jack(s). I'm looking at you devilsquid.

I'm just gonna toss out a reminder about Fiona. She can make it so that even if an attack doesn't penetrate a target's ARM it still inflicts a point of damage, and you have a LOT of ground pounders.

Oh~ And there's that Necromancer that can use casualties on both sides too bolster her retinue of undead soldiers. I'm drawing a blank on her name at the moment. With all the infantry she'd be evil.

With this list, i'd reccomend Ashylnn and her Jack Sidekick (either a Nomad or Vanguard). Magnus needs some jacks to function, at least 3 (two heavies and a light, usually)

A 'better' start for a Steelhead force is 20 Halberdiers, 3 cav, and stannis. You still get the chunk of bodies you need, but have points left over for some bells and whistles.

Now, at 50pts, you can stick all those guys in, plus some jacks and stuff.

And the piper is great with Steelheads.

She still sounds pretty impressive to me. Move her within range of an enemy warcaster and watch them start to run low on steam.

And combine her with Fiona's Affliction magic, and that's quite a bit more damage a turn something is taking.

But, Fiona is fairly atypical for a standard warcaster which is why I said "reminder" instead of "reccomendation".
