When the character warjacks first came out, one of the bothersome things about them was how much bigger they were than the standard 'jacks, particularly Beast-09. When the plastic kits came out, and were also much larger than the old standard metal 'jacks, I compared and saw that the plastic kits were appropriately scaled to the character 'jacks from Legends. It's that way across the line-- Thorn, who was huge compared to the metal Lancer, is to scale with the new plastic Lancer. Beast-09 looks to be about the same size as a plastic Juggernaut. It looks a lot better to me, since the character 'jacks are supposed to be based upon an existing chassis.

Here's a side-by-side of the studio pics just to show:
Now I see... it really seems to be about the same size. I think if 09 hadn't have bended knees ho would be as tall as plastic juggernaut. But there are still diferences in some shapes (eg. arms) and I don't like it

Love it! I had issues with the difference in sizes also. I am so in love with the new plastic kits compared to the older metal ones also.

Very inspiring work. Both on the actual work and on the thought behind it all.

I absolutely love your conversion. Any interest in making another one on commission? Let me know.

You know what? You make me realize the potential of an extreme Kodiak. The 100% extreme army is that much closer now. Thank you.

Also, this conversion looks good in its own right.

I'm new to Privateer Press and Khador. I had noticed how little the Kodiak looked compared to the rest and was wondering about a new model. Now i dont have to worry about it. Great model and i'll probably have a go at it thanks to your thread.

That's a great job well done,

i've made my own plastic Kodiak, but i hacked the metal opne apart for things like the plates on the fist and also the 'toes'. i didnt bother with the funny hat, mainly because my modeling skills aren't up to it and mine just looked goofy.

Great great work! This could easily be a PP kit

This is just so awesome, I actually got so inspired by this so I made my own. I'll post some pictures later, but for now I
have a question; What brown did you use? You've really nailed the look I was trying to get on my classic Kodiak and It would be
very kind of you to enlighten me

Here's hoping this thread prompts PP to bring out some conversion Kits! Not much of a converter myself, like the Kodiak stats but not a fan of the model....

Your avatar has touched my Brony heart! I'll answer your question.

I use Citadel colors for my browns (not any kind of preference, mind you; it's what I had when I started painting my stuff). I start with a basecoat of Scorched Brown and gradually blend in more and more Graveyard Earth until it's straight Graveyard Earth. I then highlight with a mix of Graveyard Earth mixed with a bit of Kommando Khaki.

Fantastic work. I really wanted a Kodiak but now I don't think I could settle for the official model.
In all of my posts, please keep in mind that I am still somewhat new to the game. Also, my painting is far from professional quality and I honestly don't even try for that style.

Thanks for the inspiration. I bought a Kodiak as my second Warjack without realising how little it was. I saw this thread while it was still an order to get the plastic kit too. With a bit of work I've now got a plastic Kodiak and a Destroyer based on the Kodiak chasis (here). Fluff-wise, they're both Juggernaught chassis, so I think that should be fine! I attached the Kodiak head to the plastic body by sawing off the hexagonal block, attaching the head with brass rod, and filling the gap with GS. I'm very pleased with my two full sized warjacks, it would have been annoying to make such an out of scale model.

great conversion with a great pose and a great paint job... in short: great!
Chaos isn't a pit. Chaos is a ladder. Many who try to climb it fail and never get to try again. The fall breaks them.
And some are given a chance to climb, they cling to the realm or the gods or love. Only the ladder is real. The climb is all there is.
