    Cool eHaley Tourney List

Alright, so I'm looking into developing a solid 50pt eHaley tournament list. Right now I'm looking at:

    - eHaley (+5jp)
    ^ Centurion (9-5) - 4
    ^ Lancer (6) - 6
    ^ Triumph (11) - 11
    - Squire - 2
    - eEiryss - 3
    - Pendrake - 2
    - Full Precursors - 10
    - Full ATGMs - 8
    - Black 13th - 4

So here's my big point of deliberation: Triumph vs. Thorn. I could knock Triumph down to a Defender and upgrade the Lancer to Thorn. I'm trying to determine which is more valuable. eHaley can actually get some mileage out of Triumph's Arcane Precision, but I am worried about his inability to hold up in melee. I've played Thorn a few times and enjoy getting the extra 3" move after channeling. At the same time I've also used a regular Lancer to great success with eHaley, so I'm kind of stuck.

I'm also debating if I want Pendrake or another 2pt solo. I like the support he offers vs. Hordes. I also love getting the KD ranged attack that hurts everyone. Never mind that TA and Deadeye can help capitalize on the ability. Rhupert is appealing too though. As is Versh.

    What do you guys think?

Looks solid. As for the Triumph vs. Thorn issue, I can really only give two options:

    (a) Triumph is awful and you shouldn't even bother.

    (b) Try both and see what works best for you.

I'd much rather have Thorn and a Defender than a Lancer and Triumph in an eHaley list. I've pulled more upsets than I care to admit with a last ditch assassination run with Thorn. As an added bonus you can move the Defender over to the ATGMs.

Also, are you planning on bonding the Cent? If not I'd downgrade him to an Ironclad for some more solo goodness such as Arlan.

I basically agree with above. Downgrade to Defender, shunt him off to ATGMs if you can. Bond Centurion and add either Gorman or Upgrade Lancer to Thorn.

Triumph really isn't a heavy jack. He's just a tough one with an ok gun. If you can't maximize use out of it, and have other heavies to carry the weight, then he doesn't serve much purpose.

I hear what you all are saying regarding Triumph and I think it's pretty reasonable. I'm not a big Triumph advocate, but felt like he was workable in this situation. I'm probably going to opt to use Thorn and switch Triumph to a regular Defender.

The Cent will be bonded for sure (the Defender is stationary and I think Thorn is quick enough). Gorman is an interesting suggestion, but sadly I don't own him yet.

If I do bump the Defender from eHaley to the Dude should I drop Pendrake in favor of Strangewayes for additional jack support?

    Thanks for the feedback.

As much as I love Pendrake I'm going to have to say yes. The extra focus for the Defender is vital. Under TA if he doesn't need to boost to hit you can boost 2 damage rolls thx to and Arlan. Plus, most of my caster kills with eHaley come from getting a bonded heavy onto their caster. Evasion helps ensure your jack is delivered safely.

I second almost all of these suggestions. Triumph with eHaley is much less effective than a straight Defender, doubly so when Arlan and the Dude are thrown into the mix. I'm not certain that Thorn is necessary as a regular Lancer can be almost as mobile with TK, TA, and a Bond, but it's up to you; Thorn's extra goodness versus taking both Strangewayes and Pendrake is a tough one to argue. I *would* suggest you drop one of your units for another 'jack, though, and for a purely practical consideration: most of the tournies I've been to, the PG decided to drop the turn length to the next-lowest point level, "for speed", and playing 50 points in 35-point turns is uncomfortable unless you're 100% familiar with your army and everything it does. Personally, I'd drop the PKs for a Cyclone, Stormclad, or even another Defender, but that's me.
