Please tell me this game isnt going to die out and PP has some expansions planned for it???? I have a lot of boardgames and mini games and this is by far my favorite, I just don't want to see it disappear before its potential is realized.

So if you are listening PP ....THIS IS A GREAT GAME AND I WANT MORE!!! Im sure there are plenty of people that feel the same.

Too bad they released it the same year they released their most aggressive expansion schedule for Warmahordes. And unless it calms down I have a hard time seeing them advancing Grind. They are extremely focused and their attempt to start a Grind League last winter was suppose to happen right after Grind's release and right before the first league for Warmahordes. In essence a really bad time. And they haven't made one announcement or post concerning it since they canceled the supposed Grind League.

PP has sometihing great here with lots of potential, but they will have to put some focus on it at some point when they aren't releasing 8-10 new models and a new book for their mother game. (which has happened every month now for just under a year.)

And if they don't we just might have to start Homebrewing and owning it ourselves like Blood Bowl players had to do.

I was afraid of that. I was really hoping that this game wouldn't end up like blood bowl. Home brews are great and all, but they just compare to new figures, new arms, new maps, hell even some new obstacles.

Its to bad, if PP had just promoted the game a little more and actually invested the time to develop it some, I think they would have another winning game on their hands. Considering how huge the board game market is it would be worth the investment. Not to mention all the variants that could be spawned from this one game, such as a wargames like Memoir 44 or A&A and others. I know its a stretch but boardgames are so much more accessible to people then Mini gaming is cause of the cost.

Maybe im just babbling and talking out of my a$$ I just want more of this game!

Well they still might invest more into this game, but as of now their money maker is Warmahordes and Grind was just a side project. Right now they are focusing on where the money is.

You are right though, they should promote Grind more to a bigger market. It is extremely fun and the possibilities are huge. I think they just expected it to sell a lot faster, which is a little unrealistic.

We have to see what happens because PP is a small but rapidly growing company they really have to focus on whats growing. The rapid expansion of WarmaHordes has sidelined some projects but i would argue thier money maker has to be Mosterocolapse. Which isnt bad I feel its a great way to get kids into more serious war games and it deserves attention in that it might be PP gateway drug into thier other products. Grind is a great game and I dont think it will die out I just think it will get attention next year when thier done with expanding thier main game system to be more competitive with GW's. Which is no small feat, thier 40k system might be broken in the eternal Codex shuffle but they do have like 25 years under thier belt of creative content and ideas before they removed it all with the new 5th edition. I think PP will catch up content wise with this next expansion and then they can focus on expanding thier other games.

Hey guys, I'm really liking the look of some of Privateer Press' Warmachine models, I was wondering if any of you have them and what you think of them.

I quite like the look of the Cygnar as I think they would be simple to paint good but I also like the Cryx as they remind me of a 40k version of Vampire Counts.

Alot of us on the forums have Warmachine models, head out to the main forum and introduce yourself in the main forum, not many people come to the grind board.
You don't kill models in eStryker's army, you simply open up charge lanes.
    Til the day we die
Theroy Machine is silly and you're silly for believing it.

As someone who was on the Blood Bowl Rules Committee for a long time and involved in the BB community for even longer than that, I feel your pain! That said, I think this game is remarkably complex and nuanced, given that it essentially operates with only one "race" and two player types. Compare this to Blood Bowl, which features roughly two dozen races and a larger number of unique player positions.) Grind, to me, after some study, appears very robust as is and won't suffer from a lack of official expansions. The configuration options, the plays, the attack combinations, and the league rules should keep most parties very interested without feeling that they're being neglected by Privateer Press.

    Just my two cents.

I don't think it lacks support from PP, what I think is it lacks a community right now. And BBers are unlikely to try it that much from what I have seen the vast majority of them think BB is good enough, why look somewhere else. Elfball has this problem as well. I really like grind and elfball, but have a tough time finding opponents. With BB I have found 2 leagues in my area, with grind I have only found one opponent and with EB I have one regular friend that I play with and a buddy that visits from time to time.

But that said, grind has some great mechanics and is a blast to play. Now if there was just more community for it, that would be great.

If you are ever in Ft. Worth, PM me for a game or two, I also play other sports/miniature boardgames!
