Default epic Irusk, heavy on the jacks?

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie Warmachine player (just started out last week), I only own the battlegroup box so far but I'm already thinking about expanding my army and picking a warcaster that is more my style.

Supreme Kommandant Irusk really caught my eye and was thinking about building an army around the "Energizer" spell, the idea of a massive Warjack army with all that mobility must be scary.

I love Warjacks and I love Khador, but I'm just not drawn to other warcasters as much as Irusk. I know Irusk is the Infantry heavy warcaster, but is it possible to field 2 to 3 warjacks (in addition to the other staple infantry) on an Irusk army and still be successful? (25 to 35 point army)

I was wondering about that myself, so here are some random thoughts:
    1. Twin Spriggans. Cast full Energizer and give each Spriggan 2 focus. Each of them charges, Bulldozes stuff out of the way and attacks something important with a boosted MAT 8 attack roll. Threat range: 3 + 7 + 2 = 12". The threat range is not breath taking, but you might catch some opponents by surprise.
    2. Destroyers/Behemoth. Energizer allows you to move and still get aiming bonus. Not always cost effective but once you manage to snipe a warcaster/warlock from 17" with RAT 6, you'll be glad you did.
    3. Berserkers/Drago. They are cheap and stupid but they charge for free, so that somewhat offsets the cost of Energizer. What they lack in MAT, you'll get back in speed and numbers.

You would do yourself great justice looking up "eIrusk **** Bubble" on Google. Exactly what people have said NOT to do...the **** Bubble does. It revolves around a Spriggan and a Devastator at bare minimum with a shooty unit like WG Riflecorp to benefit from Tac. Supremacy. Read over the list. It's exactly what you're looking for. I promise.

------The **** indicates a 4-letter word, starting with the letter D that is used to describe the male anatomy in a derogatory manner.

Thanks tedwin! I just googled it and if 10+ years of gaming has taught me anything is that if a strategy gets it's own name then it's automatically viable

You're very welcome, Ganso. I was once in your position, wondering how I could get the best use out of Energizer, while still keeping eIrusk true to his infantry-loving ways. The D-Bubble solves that equation quite nicely.

Tedwin, can we have the discussion here and share your experience a little? Basically what you're suggesting is a list which has a Spriggan and a Devastator for Bulldoze/Energizer shenanigans and a Destroyer for Fire for Effect/Energizer. What else? How do you play it?

As per what I've seen and used:

    eIrusk
    Spriggan-------Energizer/Bulldoze
    Devastator-------Energizer/Bulldoze
    Destroyer-------Energizer/Fire For Effect
    Great Bears------Cleanup crew/Battle Lust
max. WG Riflecorp + Joe-----------Infantry Clearer/Tac. Supremacy for being dodgy.
min. Kayazy Assassins +UA---------Tarpit/Minifeat + Tac Supremacy is awesome.

Koldun Lord------Extra Focus battery for Dev/Spriggan.
eEiryss------Typical utility role she's always in.

That's the list I run. Kayazy can be subbed out for something else. The core is really the Dev, Spriggan, Destroyer, Great Bears and WG Riflecorp/Widowmakers. Everything else you fill points as needed.

The idea is to have a command of ranged combat against your opponent. Tac. Supremacy allows you to move up, shoot, and get out of range of retaliation (doesn't always happen). FFE on the Destroyer is pure gold, reliably landing the AOE on infantry masses or doing a good amount of Damage on a heavy. Spriggan/Devastator are essentially SPD 7 jacks with Energizer (the idea is you use 3 focus every turn for energizer_until_you get into combat). With the Spriggan, you have a pretty incredible threat range and the Devastator, well, nobody wants to see one of those across from them.

thanks for the write up Tedwin.

Would a Behemoth be able to fill the spot for the FFE role?
