Sorry bout' the large pictures; I'll have to work on my photo scaling
were Barnabas and the Wrastler models dipped? And if so, what did you dip them in?
it looks like the models have a layer of caramel on them. The painting looks fantastic, but what looks like the dip that they were dipped into looks like it was too thick.

I dig the frogs...especially the orange guy
This sentence is false.
the frogs do look good. I might have to break down and get one of these guys at least, if not 2.

Nice job. I like the "surprise it's yet another discovered species from the rain forest" colors on the frogs.

Except for being a tad shiny those guys look great, especially the cloth on Barney.
Pray to your god for mercy, for mine will have none.
Very cool looking models. I actually don't mind the shine on them; it looks like they just walked out of the swamp.Great work!

To take what I want -- THAT IS MY RIGHT!
I like the finish on these also, it suits them. it makes them look rubbery like real amphibians skin. I does make me want to squish them just to see if they squeek like my sons toy frog.![]()
Great job. My girlfriend is a big fan of gators so I've been trying to get her into Hordes by showing her these models. Nice paint jobs like this help.![]()
I like the finish on these, I think it would be too shiny for Khador or even The Farrow, but it looks like they all just crawled out of the swamp.
The Wrastlers look like they are finishing up a dance number. Good paint job though...
Thank you all for the comments. I'm hoping to get my hands on some Gatormen soon as well as Wrong Eye and Snapjaw
I love the color palette on Barnabas and the Wrastlers. Not every pair of colors needs to be high-contrast. The croak hunters are really very convincing as well! I'm not a fan of the matte finish, though, to be honest, as it looks sort of gummy, for lack of a better term. Keep up the good work, though, I'd like to see more!
Very nice paint job -- I also like the swamp effect on the bases.
Update: Min unit of Gatormen done with the last two ready to prime and a 3rd Croak Hunter

Nice freehand on the frogs
That has to be one of the first laptops I've seen in a mini background that hasn't been used as a pallet
Very nice change of pace from all the green, keep it up!
Skorne Born: October 2010. Converging Soon.
Thanks for the comments. Finals week has been hell, but I just need to attach Cabelan's arm and clear coat him before I post him, but that isn't happening till atleast tomorrow night.
It's taken me nearly 3 weeks to actually get around to taking pictures....
Calaban-
Last of my unit of Gatormen Posse are done as well as Swamp Gobbers, the later of which I'm very pleased at how they came out. I'll take some pictures when I take them out for a spin tonight after work. (Trolls, Skorne, PoM, Circle..don't know what's on the menu till I get there)
Awesome work. I really like the poison dart frog look on your hunters.
Here's a group shot I took for the Minion Showcase
I still need to base the last two Gatormen and the Red Croak, but I've got to finish my Uhlans before that and painting the Snappers
Update: Got the basing on everything done since my last picture. Only stuff left is the last touches on the second Bullsnapper's base and I assembled my Ironback Spitter last night at about 12:30. I've been waiting for the grouchy old turtle to get released since his sculpt is what sold me on starting blindwater.
I hope to get pics of the snapper's up soon, but last time I said that it took me 3 weeks.
Meanwhile, I'll keep taking Calaban out for a stroll every Monday. I like him so much more then Barnabus and lately the gator's have been eating a lot of trolls. I expect to see Borka with some scouts this monday.
Grouchy old Turtle....done in record time.
Snappers. They have eaten more then their weight in Trolls of late.

What did you do the bases with? They look great
Thanks for the kind words.
I really wished that the Croaks had a higher FA because they were a blast to do and have earn a reputation that gets them wiped out on principle.
Gothgar--I used green-stuff to raise sections and then flocked with some fine grain stuff used for concrete by model train builders. Painted up and then water areas glossed with an old bottle of clear nail-polish that the GF can't stand to use anymore.
The croak hunters remind me of frogloks from everquest. really cool looking.
Time for an Update: the last three months has seen me do a small army worth of Khador and manage to pass three of the most difficult college courses I've taken to date with flying colors. In that time I've not completely ignored my gators. I'm hoping to finish my Bog Trogs tomorrow and I have a second Posse base coated now that I've unpacked from moving.
And: Show and Tell time...
Finished him a month ago, but work and friends have kept me at full tilt ever since they learned I was moving. The Thrullg is a fun model to paint, but doesn't do much against the likes of Karchev....messy.
PS--Some what reasonable goal: 100pts of Gators by September. Meaning I'll only need to get 50 points out of Domination for Unbound.
Items Needed List:
- x1 Full Posse +2 GM
- x2 Bull Snappers
- x1 Wrastler
- x1 Iron Back Spitter
- x3 Croaks
- Totem Hunter
- Wrong Eye & Snap Jaw

TROgsssssss.....! About sums up my enthusiasm to paint these guys. I doubt I'll do any more simply because they weren't that enjoyable to paint, which in turn made me get rather sloppy when I pushed to finish them 2 months after I started...

I really like your bog trogs. The colors on them just really pop. I can share your pain with painting these guys....they are not too much fun and I ideally want 2 full units![]()
Loki,
Would you please tell me which colors you used on the Thrullg? I really like the brown/tan/red paint scheme and would like to replicate it.
Thanks TinRobot and Michael.
I think I need to get some actual pics of just my 'Road Commission' Gobbers because TinRobot's 'Pop' comment got me thinking about them. (Long Convoluted thought process being left out.)
Michael--I already replied to your PM, but if anyone else is curious I'll post it here.

Can't believe I havn't replied to this thread yet!
Outstanding work on these guys Loki. I like the Thrullg and Trogs especially.
So you've moved to my neck of the woods now? I'd love to see these guys across the table sometime. My wife plays Gators so I'll have to work on perfecting some tricks against the leathery ones...
Second Min Posse done. I chucked my can of matte sealer after these guys after it fogged them a bit. It fogged the Trogs even worse, but I put a layer of wash on them before the I took the pics I posted earlier. Like Armory for priming, but I think I'm going to go back to Army Painter for Matte sealer.
Both Posses to date

And the Road Commission, um Gobbers, erm. The one with the tank was my first model that I used pigments with and I've been getting better ever since. It's an interesting tool in my painting kit.

Like a lot of other folks, I'm loving the brown scheme! Good job!

Note: You will be able to field both Ravyn and Ravyn in a single army, as Ravyn is not the same character as Ravyn.
