Nice job on all of the trolls, I really did the scheme you went with. The minions aren't my cup of tea, but that's not your painting I'm commenting on. As far as I'm concerned, it's a faction that I find all of the sculpts to be very mediocre, and very run of the mill, similar to "Reaper Dark Haven" sculpts. Either way, Your trollbloods are absolutely awesome!
They look swell... I really dig red skin on the trolls.
I think the Earthshapers(?) - the trio with swirling rocks, w/e they are called - look especially nice.
This sentence is false.
I like them. Red is a nice change from all of the troll armies that I have seen at the various stores that I have ever been a regular player.
your lord and master...

Wow. A job very well done! My favorite is the Runeshapers and the fire on the Pyre Troll's hands. Can you make a better picture of the Slag Troll? I am sure you painted him very well, but I can't see with too much flash reflection, blurriness, and it's too up close.

Very cool. The flesh is just about the same color as the clay from around here. (Reminds me of playing in the gravel pit growing up.) It has a really cool contrast with the light grey stone.
Updated with Bushwackers and Stone Scribe Elder...

Wow! thats a lot of nice lookin figs. Well done.
very cool looking trolls, that red tone scheme came out quite nice, refreshing to see some alternate colors well executed.
I also went with the red for my trolls. Yours look great.

nice. The choice of grey stone on the dire trolls is really nice, and pops out.
I was initially put off a tad by the grey bases from an asthetic point of view, but then I realized it does for the infantry models what the grey stone on the maulers does for their skin color.
So, bravo.
Really well done, coherent army, and inspiring alt scheme.
p.s. like the black warthog. I was thinking of doing the same myself.
Here is my newly painted Skinner. Not super happy with the color choice. The green wasn't right. The base green was too vivid. I was hoping to get a more olive drab result. But all in all, he is a great model. I think my paint job on him looks a lot from better from a few feet away... He is like a holiday X-mas troll...

Madrak repaint. I wasn't real happy with his first incarnation, so I clipped off part of his clown collar awesomeness and painted him anew.
Skaldi is coming up next. He's freshly sealed and drying now.

I put down way too much sealer the first time. It really obscured a lot of detail. If you look closely at the bottom of the axe blade you can even see where some of it chipped off because it was so thick...

A remarkable stuff you got here. Reminds me of corrupted orcs from WC3.
But the last minis are a little bit too shiny. May i suggest using matt varnish?

So I was scrubbing up Skaldi before assembly, and low and behold, his head went down the drain. I had an odd Champion head, (not sure where it came from) so I shaved off the quills and used it. It sorta looks like he's burping, so it matches Skaldi's general fat-slobitude...

Very nice alternate scheme, the red and gray really work well together. Never was much of a fan of the studio blue scheme (or Trolls in general for that matter) but I like the red. And it looks very cohesive, I'm sure it looks very good on the tabletop. Also, great attention to details, those little things and proper color choice for them really take a model to the next level. Lot of people skip it, but kudos to you it really makes your models a pleasure to look at. Keep up the good work and thanks for sharing.
Two wrongs don't make a right.
But three lefts do.
Janissa's face looks off when the highlights (or photo lights), while all the others have a lot of shades to show their features Janissa's face looks as if you didn't do anything but giving it base colours.
I think I actually like the headswap for Skaldi better than the original![]()
