Really like the purple and definitely approve of the cape on Anastasia. Awesome work!

Unfortunately, I have decided to throw my Gun mages that I was working up to a purple, into the stripping vat. I was trying a tequnique to help me paint faster. Black primer with a zenithal spray of color (I used color primers). I like it but certainly it's not without it's problems. Anyway, I saw some lovely versions of Amethyst Rose Gun Mages and now I just can not NOT paint them black and white. So, kurplunk they went. I''m keeping my Precursors black, purple and white also so that is going to be interesting I think.

    Here they were:

Using the Zenith method I have as WIP green, brown and red units/solos.

These have much work yet to do but here is an idea of what I've been doing (albeit, slowly)

Sam and some of her boys. I gave one baldie a pony tail from the old Dark Eldar models :

And finally Ana with highlights to the inside of her cloak and the brick on the wall picked out in a contrasting color from the gray.

I do hope it was a spare one

The coloured base coat is something I tried before as well. It´s great for painting horde style armies like Tyranids or Skaven. For the low miniature count armies as used in PP games I considered it´s almost as much work to paint the models from black.

Still though, it always helped keeping me motivated seeing a bunch of already halfways done miniatures on my painting table, and in that regard I´d definately see a time saving factor when painting up to tabletop quality.

The conversion on the spy lady looks great!

Admittedly, it changes the idea of "dipping" your models drastically.

Interesting work on that cloak. Makes Ana less static.

Great looking stuff and the Di Bray conversion makes her a definite 'have a reason to buy now,' but promise me you will never paint yellow...after this I will always wonder...
Some people need a weekly dose of vitamin D6 to "stay sane." Me, I just need a taste of paint and I'm good.

My roommate is an RN, so we have a lot of surgery room objects around the hobby objects. Those little blue trays for priming on, surgical clamps for holding minis while we paint, white gauze instead of paper towels for cleaning brushes, etc.

Haven't brought myself to using a specimen cup for hobby stuff yet.

Just wait until you go to a party where the urinals become beer steins. Yes, I have seen this. No, they were not previously used and they were even washed prior to use as a stein.

Besides, it's just a cup that says urine on it. That doesn't mean there was ever any urine in or even near it. "Just because a mouse lives in a cookie jar, that doesn't make him a cookie." I got the cup at work one day when sculpting Ana's cloak or wall on her base. At the end of the day I needed something to protect the model with and used the urine cup. It just ended up staying on my painting table.
