I'm totally digging your greens on these models. Bases look very effective as well.
Is that just flock with some leaf scatter?

Thanks man! I guess it does kinda look green lol. The base color is actually Vallejo Deseirto Desert Yellow which is tan with a black wash over it.

The bases use Woodland Scenics Burnt Grass Flock, along with their trees & rocks. The leaves are from Skullcrafts Autumn Mix Leaf Scatter.

They look awesome, especially the axes. The only thing I would've done differently is hit the rivets on the bodies of the jacks with pig iron. Keep up the great work!

Very sharp - I have always been a fan of a scheme of this sorts (I'm doing a psuedo 5th Border legion myself). I am particularly interested in how the blood splatter effect was done - I know it is pretty hard to pull off convincingly - any chance for some details???

Yea I was debating whether to paint the body bolts but then I just looked at tanks and how most of the rivets are painted the same as the body. Plus these are meant for table top gaming. If it was competition painting I would've taken more time.

Thanks! Originally they were painted metallic but I didn't like it at first since they are considered "frost" weapons. It's actually really easy and is done in 3 steps.

    1. Paint it using/mixing a light blue
    2. Paint all the edges white
    3. Use a bottled gloss varnish you can brush on to make it look shiny (like Vallejo's Game Gloss varnish in a drip bottle)

    Hope that helps!

really dig this theme, and the "dirty thornwood" feel it conveys. looks really sharp and is a refreshing change from the myriad red/black snow based Khador I see.
(Nothing against it, just get tired of "soviet russia" khador)

Yuri looks pretty nice, the skin seems a bit yellow(ish) though. I don't know if that's intentional, but if it's not you could allways try a thin watereddown brown/flesh wash.

Thanks! I don't like sticking to the standard themes usually because we all want to personalize it somehow.

Yea it's just the picture. It's color is actually a bronze flesh tone. I don't have a lightbox or anything and just take a pic under my painting lamp and do some simple tweaks in photoshop. But thanks for the tip!

Thanks! The yellow skin is more of me overdoing it in photoshop lol. Finishing up a couple more models and then it's DR or WGRC time.

Hey all! It's been awhile since I had some time to paint but I finally finished this one up. After this I am going to paint a couple eCasters, play some more games, and then put together my Doom Reavers and WGRC. Since I have enough for 35 point games I want to play some more now ;p

    For painting purposes;
Man 'o-war. Just like painting mini warjacks.

    For the butcher:
Doomreavers. They're in his theme force, and IMO they are some of the best looking models.

    For sorscha:
None of the above... but the Riflemen are closest.

Thanks for the tips! I am actually probably going to shove the man-o-wars aside for now and focus on the DR and WGRC.
